Alcohol free nights?

Don't worry I enjoy a drink with the best of them. But one of the things I've found a bit off-putting about the few clubs I've visited is the number fo people necking it back. I've always felt that if you need Dutch courage the play-vibe isn't with you...

Any views on that?

I agree with the ones necking them back. But I do like one or two to get me in a filthy mood

It happens on private meets too, even socials.

I drank three glasses of wine at a social and was horribly ill so I can't cast aspersions .

I had a woman vomit all over my sofa and rug after she drank to much.

As a single bloke at clubs if you're not the heart and soul and chatting to everyone you'll probably end up disappointed.

I'm naturally a grumpy git but booze makes me jolly!

I take 8 bottles of beer for the whole night.

Tried going sober and it's okay but I won't be doing it again.

Probably in the minority here but I like more of a party mood. I get vomming and falling over is hardly erotic but do most people do that on a normal night out? Don't know why it being a swingers club makes a difference.

I don't mind one or two as part of the evening but I find if I drink much more then I lose sensitivity so sex is not as enjoyable.

Neither would I want to kiss someone that had drank too much as it tastes horrible.

Discovered that some bottled lager is only 2% alcohol. 4 of those at a club/party to wet the back of your throat and give the "sociability" factor is ideal.

I'm pretty sure the beer makes me more attractive, taste better and wobble less.

Maybe I just have a strange body?

We don't always have to drink but on occasion one of us will enjoy a drink or few and the other will drive, but we never get blotto.

I can get behind an alcohol free night though, we would be happy to attend that, we don't play with anyone too d*unk anyway, blurred lines about consent and all that, aside from the obvious performance related issues but we also feel if you have to be wasted to play with us you obviously aren't that into us! in which case we would rather wait and play with someone who is.

I dont mind drinks at clubs, within reason, but its when people start behaving and shouting as if they were in a nightclub after a drink that bugs me.. total turn off.

I've not been to a club yet but having people d*unk around me would be massively off putting personally. A couple yes but actually pissed, nope.if you want a d*unken fuck you go to a nightclub

I couldn't understand it because although I'm not a heavy drinker 3 glasses of wine would normally just make me a bit talkative. Mind you it was rough stuff.

FWIW I wouldn't play with a guy that had d*unk that much. That's quite a bit of alcohol. I wouldn't be 100% certain that he could consent.

I'd really welcome dry club nights and would support them.

"I'm pretty sure the beer makes me more attractive"

You're doing it wrong - isn't meant to make everyone else more attractive!

OP it is an interesting proposition, the clubs hardly ever hold a licence so they have little to lose, unless attendance would be affected because of no alcohol available. I love my drink but it is a slippery slope - one may think they are tipsy or merry but to the more sober observer it is obvious they have lost clear contact with reality.

Personally I am concerned about this dip in awareness, especially when playing with brand new partners or strangers, more so if kink is involved! We go to the local nudist spa which has strict no alcohol rules, but we miss out ona few of opportunities in the local scene because we don't party hard enough. But ultimately I want to be conscious to enjoy my sex, and I want my partners to be sensitive and responsive.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone totally smashed... I think a bit of Dutch courage to get the blood pumping hurts

I've had this happen a couple of times...

On private meets I just tend to walk away...it's very off putting and you think why do I bother!

In club I just think it's dangerous..I've seen groups of men literally preying on the vulnerable...

As a single man...I prefer the lady who I show interest in to have her facilities and to have capacity

From a personal point of view, we don't drink much when we're playing. I like to make clear judgements on what I'm doing! We also don't play with people who have been drinking too much either, 1/ brewers droop comes into play and 2/ I don't want to play with people who need to be pissed first.

From a club point of view, we are one of only a handful with an alcohol licence. As a licencee, I need to ensure that people drink responsibly and I send them on their way in a condition whereby they can get home! But in a swingers club, it's a bit different. We always advise people on tours, that we don't receommend drinking to excess for the reasons above and that our bar staff will stop serving alcohol if they feel that people are too d*unk. We want people to make informed decision about what they are doing, have a good night and come back. Excessive drinking is not conducive to this.

We allow people to bring their own alcohol or purchase from us and people often argue the toss with us and demand that we serve them their own alcohol even though we have cut them off; they think it's their right as it's their property. Wrong! Once you hand alcohol over to us as a licenced premises, we are responsible for it's storage and it's consumption and the same licencing laws apply. If people demand their alcohol (which is rare), then I say that they can get dressed and pick it up on the way out.

Swingers do not want to see people falling over, vomiting in toilets and making a tit of themselves, so as club owners, we have to watch alcohol consumption and for the good of everyone in the club, cut people off if they are too pissed.

I understand the need for dutch courage etc...and this is more than fine, but we are talking about alcohol to excess here which is dangerous in a sexually charged environment.

Yeah we'd like alcohol free nights at clubs. I love a glass of wine but I don't think it's appropriate in an environment like a swingers club. I want to be in full control of decision making and too much drink desensitises my body anyway.

As for others, I don't want to play with anyone pissed or stoned. We've seen a few at the clubs we've been to. One guy who stunk of stale booze and one guy who was incoherent asking to play...er no thanks. At the same club a woman was moaning she'd been banned by the club for drinking for a month.

So we just drink water at clubs and would prefer non drinkers to play with.

I remember the first time I walked into a club nearly 12 years ago and I certainly needed dutch courage or a firm hand on my back just to walk through the door!! I was absolutely bricking it!!! Obviously once I walked in I wondered what the fuss was about, but that initial walking in and say the first hour...wow, it was hard going! So a gin was needed to calm the flutterbys ! I have never been pissed when playing in a club as I have seen all to well, the repercussions of this...as I said above, I prefer to be aware of the decisions I make x

I'm always driving so I never drink.

One club we have been to had alcohol free beer which was a great idea. I just don't like beer. Neither of us are drinkers much anyway so an alcohol free night is ok with us.

Wouldn't play with anyone pissed or stoned.... Not our thing.

Sadly it's not always obvious. Our last club outing resulted in a messaged apology the next day from a guy saying he'd like to play more when he hadn't d*unk so much. I couldn't tell with him

I used to drink but stopped 3 years ago. Have seen people be thrown out of clubs for being pissed, someone I dropped home at the end of a night threw up through the window, have seen my fair share of club heads as well.

The end result is each to their own. If you need alcohol to play then no worries. It doesn't work for me any more. Like anything taken in moderation it's fine.

That said, I love the feeling of being in control of my decisions, remembering exactly what i got up to and the feelings when playing.

Also saves a stack of cash I use for club entry fees

Yeah I understand they need the revenue from booze. Not many have alcohol licences anyway they charge corkage etc. Should just be level headed or a bit tipsy doing this never d*unk! I've seen men ploughing their wives with alcohol I think it's terrible if you have to do that to play. I disowned a fuckbuddy of mine because I found out she was d*unk having a gangbang on her own it's so dangerous.
