"I like having a little while to mingle dressed then a certain time to dress down"
Exactly this, straight in cold off the street, nope not us, after a few drinks & a bit of a dance & smooch we are quite happy walking around in our undies..usually corset, stockings & suspenders for H and tight boxers for me.

"I think towel/lingerie shows that you are looking to play. Fully dressed in the bar might mean that you are just there for a drink/chat."
But even if u go as a couple when ur dressed down it provides easy access to slip a finger even if ur not playing with others |

I like to get undressed when I choose to not when I'm told I have to...but don't like people wandering through play areas fully dressed...so clubs with well demarcated, separate areas... |

We tend to prefer Clubs where people at least start out dressed! Towels just don't do it, if you have a connection with someone clothed, then unclothed matters a bit less in terms of physique. If it is towels then I'm afraid we judge people quite harshly - as we would ourselves!
When we first went to Clubs we were unsure on what to wear, so went a bit more conservatively. Now, it is just an excuse to show off! |

No no no to towels. Looks like a health club!
Un-dressed for choice but no strong view otherwise.
All a bit academic as I've retired from clubs, or so I tell myself |

To refine my thoughts....men unless seriously buff are better dressed until play starts (and then of course socks must ALWAYS be left on), girls far more yummy in kink-kit or lingerie!
Kink-kit for choice.... |

I think towel or sarongs make people equal so theres no competition regarding the lingerie people are wearing. At Chams i have heard women being very bitchy about the lingerie other women are wearing. |

I heard it many times in the first 4/5 years i went, that was mostly on saturday nights. In recent years we never go on saturday nights so have heard it less often, thats probably because theres a far bigger ratio of men there. |

I'd prefer clubs where I could be comfortable wearing jeans and a smart t shirt or something. Having to conform to dress codes is one reason why I don't go clubbing as much as I'd like to. I don't really see the point of having to put on a load of stuffy clothes that just make me feel uncomfortable. |

I don't own any "lingerie". I don't wear bras. So I don't have anything to wear to a club that requires women to wear "lingerie" when the men get to just wear ordinary pants. |

I mainly go on a Saturday night, I have done for the past 8 months and I can honestly say I've never heard anyone talking about what others are wearing. Crowds change though don't they, must have been different people back then.

Sorry last post should have been headed To Interrupted85 - do drop me a line, I think we could have a good old IC style whinge together (see alcohol thread). And no I am NOT going to try and hit on you, I think chances of success would tend to zero. |

I think this is a tough one and I kind of sit on the fence the clothes option is a great way to get to k is people without being body judegmenental I've played with people after chatting while in clothes that I may not have done if they been in towel or underwear. But we men do love seeing the ladies dressed down hehe... actually I like seeing everyone dressed down |

MUCH prefer dress-down venues. The towels/underwear thing is such a leveller, and much more sexy.
Seeing all people near-naked is a turn on. Seeing people stood around clothed whilst a handful are fucking with their trousers around their ankles or with piles of clothes on the floor at the foot of a play-bed, is not.
I fully understand that a 'dress-up' venue is less of a leap for some from more traditional social settings, but personally, we would always choose somewhere where everyone is dressed down.
I've not seen any bitchiness from anyone at Chams on a Saturday night. Quite the opposite really....there are all ages, shapes and sizes and people all seem to get on - whether socially and/or sexually.

It depends on the club, some clubs are towel/lingerie and personally I don't think they feel like they should be, as they don't have the comfort for it. Same as dressing up, some clubs seem like it wouldn't be right to dress up in them as it's not what they cater for.
I like doing both, but only in the clubs I find comfortable to do it in. |

They hold a kink event at the attic in Derby, if you're genuinely interested. I don't know much about it, but I know the lady that runs it likes to meet up with people first to ensure they are ready for such an event. It's not the basic kind of kink from what I have heard. |

I go to quite a lot of fetish clubs and private events. |

A lot of clubs have quite simple instructions of what attire is acceptable. One thing that many don`t get is that it doesn`t matter how expensive you jeans are, they`re still jeans! When I was in my teens, Levis were horrendously expensive and you could get lesser jeans much cheaper but they were still jeans! A pair of chinos or similar would pass muster and be completely acceptable without breaking the bank. |

Mrs here.
I love getting dressed up, I love taking time to decide on outfit and shoes, and doing my makeup... I'm out there to attract people. Same as I would if I was going on a "date" maybe, except in a club I get to wear much more revealing and fabulous outfits.
Many of the dresses I own, I've been told are "too dressed" for a dress-down, even though they leave very little to the imagination.
As above, we like to socialise/warm-up first.
Towels are not sexy. Anything "wrapped around" is not showing off my figure/shape as I'd like it.
I also avoid getting wet (eg in pool/jacuzzi/shower/foam etc.) early in the evening, I'd like my makeup and hair to stay in place for as long as possible.
I also like to keep my heels on for ~everything~.
I want to look HOT. I don't feel attracted to a towel and spa slippers. So (IMO) I don't understand why others would find me attractive in the same getup. |

I am not a dress and sexy lingerie person at all... feel more comfortable naked than in some sort of stuff that just isn't me... trouble is I have never learned how to secure a towel so it doesn't fall down or I have to hold it constantly |

A lot of people use hair clips to hold it in place, I dont know what they're called but you open it and it has teeth kind of grips. Those seems to work. |

Simply isn't the case. The number of 'ripped' and 'hung like Donkeys' guys is surprisingly small. All shapes and sizes, and no-one bats an eyelid. |

I know you are talking about 'dress up' clubs which are different, but this is one of my bugbears with 'dress down' clubs - I think they should outlaw heels in an environment where many others are walking around barefoot. The number of times at Chams, I have had to give a wide berth to someone wearing heels in a corridor for fear of having my foot impaled |

The club we go to mostly (Chams) are fine with women wearing underwear rather than towels, and gets around the 'securing' issue.
Also, as well as clips, some people bring modified towels with small strips of velcro sewn on for this purpose too. |

We've tried both and I much prefer the clubs which let you stay dressed all night in certain areas but dressed down in other areas. I prefer to dress down when I want to but equally I really can't stand fully dressed people in the play areas. We were in a jacuzzi once and everyone was naked and some people walked in fully dressed it just felt really awkward. |

It`s this reason why I prefer dress down clubs. I`ve seen lots of comments about one club in particular where walking through dress down areas when fully dressed seems to be the norm despite it being against club rules!

Funnies thing I`ve ever seen and whilst not in a club, was sort of linked to this. I was on the naturist beach at Studland. One elderly couple arrives on the beach, the husband drops all the kit he carrying and promptly drops his shorts so he`s naked from the waist down! He then assists his wife to put up the windbreak, put out the blankets etc. They`ve barely got the basics done when the husband takes the rest of his clothes off, leaving his trilby hat on then when all of the little bits are finished and only then, did the wife take her clothes off! |
