Don't make the mistake of going for liquid courage. The club will probably give you a tour if you let them know you're new. After that, head for the social area, have a drink and chat to people.
It's probably worth checking the forums and the meet listings to see who else is going on the same day as you. If you can arrange to meet someone there, even if just to chat, it'll help ease you into things. |

The first time I went to a club (Townhouse), I hid in the corner all night. Didn't dress down. I've been countless times to lots of different clubs since and it's definitely easier now.
Just go and chat to people. Talk to the bar staff, make it clear you're newbies and nervous.
Walk away if you're not sure about anything. Best to regret not doing something than regret doing it
Have fun! |

Good advice, any good club will keep an eye out for first timers and regularly check you are having a good night and no hassle.
And as said before, walking into a club is not a contract to do anything. Just enjoy the night at your own pace and if nothing happens then you can still enjoy the evening and the new experience. |

Our first time we told them we hadn't been to a club before and the bar staff introduced us to some of the regular couples which was a nice touch. I agree about drinking, by all means have a drink but be careful not to overdo it as you might regret it.
Make sure you do your research on the club you want to go to and make sure the night you want to go on is suitable - you might not fancy a fetish night for example. Check the dress down policy, if you want to drink find out if you are to take your own etc.
Mainly just remember everyone is there to have fun, relax and be confident. Chat to people and go with no expectations and see how it goes |
