Is Sheffield too far? La Chambre is a good place to start: friendly but not pushy and there are usually some obliging and considerate single guys there on Friday nights if that is what you like (I do!) |

I think you are in for a bit of a journey where ever you decide to go. All the clubs are listed in the CLUBS section here so you can check out their websites and see all the reviews.
One, a little further away, that many people from Lincolnshire use, is The Vanilla Alternative on the A1 close to Bedford. It's a great place for first timers as you can stay dressed and socialise in the bar and snug areas for as long as you like. If you feel a little more adventurous you could continue with the socialising in the very relaxing and massive hot tub.
It's an upmarket venue with licensed bar and onsite hotel rooms if you want to stay over. There are also several very local and reasonably priced hotels.
Do the research and choose somewhere you both feel is right for you. Go with an open mind and no specific expectations.
Clubs are a wonderful mix of social venue and adult playground. Have fun! |

Have a chat and find out why he is not so keen. Have a look at the club reviews, club web sites. Choose and club or event that interests both of you. Maybe consider a social event first. Maybe a private party would an option. Some clubs do events that have over 200 attending, others do more intimate events.
Also can you imagine the response from the fab forum police if a male had written that the female was not keen.
They would dispatch a fab forum rapid response ambulance fully equipped with a rantomatic-defibrillator, a amateur psychologist team, and an expert opinionator machine.

I`m going to in Lincoln in a few weeks time and was so disappointed at the "selection" of clubs available. Le Chambre in Sheffield, an hour`s drive away but only opens at 9.30pm on Friday night! Given that the club will need a hour or so to "get going" and I need to be back in the hotel by midnight for an early start means that is off my list! Next within the same sort of distance is The Attic in Derby. Better opening hours but not my taste of event happening on the night I can visit.
And that`s it!
From my experience and reading club reviews I can only suggest you travel further afield! You have two great clubs in the West Midlands - Chameleons and Xtasia, Quest in Leeds and as previously mentioned, VA. |

Or us at Jaydees, but you should check he is comfortable with the scene first. You can come along to our club and not swing at all, just check out the scene and dance, chat and watch what goes on. |
