We have noticed a decline in the number of folks attending clubs this year except for special events. Question is what's the reason.
Is it too many clubs and not enough patrons to go round?
Is it the result of an economic squeeze.
Are peoples attitudes to swinging changing?
Are there more private parties?
Or have we got it completely wrong?
Has anybody else noticed this? |

Variety of reasons, work life, home life, money situation etc
I'll have a spurt of going to a club nearly every weekend for a month. Then I perhaps won't go for a month.
Plus I like variety, also I have to arrange meets too, these aren't always club based either. |

I think that there are two main reasons:
a. firstly that the cake is only so big and the slices keep getting smaller the more clubs that open
b. secondly that we are all getting older. Was a time when "our" generation had something that was "naughty", it was "underground", we had something that no-one else had, and it was a bit special. Back in the day we dreaded being "outed" in the News Of The World. Nowadays, it's all mainstream. It's ordinary. People feel left out if they are not in a Channel 4 or Channel 5 late night documentary. The world has changed and this is one of those changes.
