If your in the city centre and like 70's or 80s music try the Bessemer on leopard Street. Or there's a nice wine bar called Brown's in the peace gardens.
If your looking at the City Centre then there are some nice bars around Leopold Square, West Street or even The Devonshire Cat. The Carlton across from LC is not too bad, if you just want someone near.
