Just wondered if we need to buy any special clothing for such an event. Don't mind investing in gear if it's to our taste and we enjoy our first fetish night at our local club. X

I would get advise from the local club website or contact them. I know my local club fetish events some people where specialist fet gear, but it's fine to come dressed in black.
I suggest you wear black for your first few visits and see if it is for you before you go buying stuff. Plus the regulars can suggest shops or websites they use |

As with any event we have found it is what you feel comfortable in. We have been to events where some are in fet wear, Others in black and people in everyday dresses etc. As above id go with perhaps black, people at fet events are usually very happy to talk about where they get their clothing, toys etc from so if you are interested then you can look at those afterwards. |

Definitely check with the club which event you are attending. For example, Townhouse sometimes have optional themes for their fet events such as speakeasy, burlesque, (minds gone blank for more examples) so that might be a consideration for your outfit.
To be honest, you can't go massively far wrong on a fet night apart from street clothing. As long as you look smart. I usually wear a black dress to attend then dress down into a wet look dress or black lingerie. There is always a variety of styles there. Go as adventurous or as safe as you feel comfortable with. |

"We will be doing the town house event so that's great advice. Xx"
Well if that's the case, the next event on Friday is a Mad Hatters Tea (fetish) party. The dress code is all dark clothing/fetish wear or theme wear. Some ideas for the theme are:
Rabbit/bunny
(Cheshire) kitty
(Queen of) Tarts
Any type of mad hat
The mad hatter was very steampunk, so you could use this as inspriation.
If you are on the other well known BDSM/Fetish site, then the full details of what is happening at this party is listed there xx |

Basic black for men and a 'party dress' sort of thing for women is perfectly acceptable, particularly for people just testing the water. |
