Yes I have heard about this, but I can't say a word! There's still a long way to go on the project but they have our full support and I sincerely hope it goes ahead as the area could do with it's own den of iniquity! lol

That's brill to know!
There are a massive number of clubs in the north west are though - probably the biggest concentration of clubs in the country!
My only concern is that there are a finite number of swingers to go round - and many clubs are already quiet on non-party nights - particularly in the Manchester area where there are several clubs!
Having said that - if a new club DOES open I'll gladly give it a try! Xx |

Oooh, interesting. Another club for the North West. Looking forward to it |

Fully agree with this. I would prefer a few busy clubs than lots of not so busy clubs. It is good that we are getting a club nearer to home but just hope it takes off as at the moment, none of the clubs seem to be as busy as they were a few years ago.

The down side the the internet and private house parties |

I think events and parties seem to be a clubs way forward..most clubs being packed on party nights, swinging seems to have evolved in just the short time we have been on the scene , it's more about the social interaction with play being a bonus rather than the other way round |

You've hit the nail on the head. Private parties (a lot of which take money off people and don't declare it btw!!) have affected a lot of clubs around the country. I have no problem whatsoever with people earning a few quid, but when some are running parties regularly and then don't declare their earnings it does gall me. Clubs have massive overheads and some of us pull out all the stops to present a venue which is safe, clean and varied in it's calendar of events. They are not the goldmines that many people think they are and private parties that run regular and don't pay tax stick in my throat.
Townhouse actually does well as we are on our own on our little peninsular but Manchester is saturated with clubs. The only nights that can be hit and miss in our place are Sundays. Our daytime events do well and the nights in general are well attended. But I know other clubs can struggle a little at times and private parties are not helping.
The new club in Preston will just make other clubs in the area raise their bar. It will be a positive for guests as there will be variety and the current clubs will offer more to attract customers in.
Clubs need guests to support them more online. I've heard people say 'It's a little quiet tonight'. I say, 'well did you tell people online that you were coming over tonight?'. The answer is usually 'No'. A club can use many avenues to market their events but actually the biggest and most successful method of raising the profile of a club and getting more people in, is word of mouth. If guests are not prepared to help their club by telling folk online that they are going, joining discussion on forums and sticking the odd status up to say they are going, then they shouldn't complain when there aren't more people there.
Swingers clubs are members clubs and we need our members to support all of the clubs more by talking and sharing. As for private house/apartment parties (I call them tax free havens), I don't believe people should pay for them. If someone wants to run a party, they should be prepared to pay the overheads and ask guests to chip in with drinks and food.
Anywayyyy, I will step down from my soapbox now and shut the feck up!!! lol xxx |

Fortunately were pretty busy as were in the centre of Manchester and have a young clientele that we've worked hard to get. Raising the bar won't be that hard up the m61
Swinging has evolved into a far more social side than the old style clubs and we always get newbies to try ALL the clubs out. Gone are the days of 100% loyalty |

The rumours seem to have some substance to them and there does seem to be a website of such.
Good luck to them and we wish them well.
We hear the usual moans of new clubs and saturation of the scene but vanilla businesses have had to deal with competition so why wouldn't we expect the same for swing/scene clubs. Same with house or private parties every credit to anyone wanting to do something and they still work hard for that evening so its not money easily earned.
Hairdresser's and Nail technician have had to deal with home workers or mobile workers for years and we see no difference really corner shops have had to deal with the expresses many a supermarket have set up near them.
Clubs will improve, some will go and some will stay its the way it is.
The scene will benefit as it has with the variation of venue and clubs around.
Just our humble opinion |

It will all sort itself out eventually, look at nightclubs in towns, the good ones always remain popular and the shite ones keep trying to reinvent themselves till the eventually close..... |

Oooh, it would be nice to have another club a little closer to home. It won't detract from our most favourite place to go (Townhouse we love you), but on the weekends I'm working in the daytime and we are able to play out it's a little far to go to get there at a decent hour. I'm certainly intrigued. |

Why are private parties more popular than clubs now? Iv been to a party, and you pay entrance fee, so it's the same as a swingers club. Swingers club has more facilities, so I'd rather go to a club |

Because guests can be hand picked I reckon, dunno, for me you can't beat a good party night in a club |

Is that the Fulwood one? Would be great to have a nice club on our doorstep
Will be near the uni hopefully" |

Well it's not open yet so can't see how Google will help?
I think patience may just be a virtue here!
I think I've worked out who's pretty arm I'll be twisting for information though! Though I'd already guessed who that might be! |

"Oooh, it would be nice to have another club a little closer to home. It won't detract from our most favourite place to go (Townhouse we love you), but on the weekends I'm working in the daytime and we are able to play out it's a little far to go to get there at a decent hour. I'm certainly intrigued.
Have to say - seriously nice arse ma'am!
I second that. Very nice indeed
If the person running it is who I think it is I'll be popping in for a look and to support the new venture"

To be honest, now that this is supposed to be happening - I'm not terribly interested in clues and revelations. I've never been a fan of gossip.
What I'd like to see, as soon as possible, are facts!
Eg:
Is this definite?
What's the location?
When can we expect it to open?
Only a few miles from me so I definitely hope it comes off!! |

Nah, The Mill used to be a rock/indie club then became a shisha lounge, was never swingers. This place is very close by though. |

Google night club for rent Preston. At £2500 a month it's too expensive Add running costs and the odd 40/50k to make it into a swingers club. You'd have to pack it every night
Personally I don't think it would work too many to close North west is well represented In all types of swingers clubs. Only Liverpool / north wales has potential but townhouse is a well run popular club and would be very hard to compete with |

Reply privately (closed, thread got too big) | |
Bitter ? My god No. Good luck to them both Just from a business view point I don't think it's viable Work out the other bills and running expenses and you've have a break even point that's too high. At the end of the day it has to be financially viable If the location was Liverpool then yes it would work.( if the council changed there policy ) Preston I don't think would support a club that would need to pull in £6k a month ...... You'd have to be very brave |

Some landlords are so desperate to rent commercial property at the moment that they are willing to do deals; it's a well known fact and why new businesses are popping up everywhere. Some offer reduced rent for so many months or no deposit or incentives for signing a longer contract. This is because the government are enforcing a high taxation on empty properties so it's actually better and cheaper for landlords to take a drop in rent as it's better than paying the tax. So any adverts online are a guide and what agents are hoping to achieve for their commission. Most business deals don't actually closeout on the original advertised price; that's quite a well known fact in the current climate.
Also as a new business they will pay 0% business rates and will have capital allowances on various things in their first year. So actually, the monthly outlay probably won't be as high as you'd expect. The main outlay is the furnishing and kitting out of a club, which can be offset against tax.
There's no point speculating on other people's business though as it's just that, speculation. I am personally right behind anyone who has the balls to open up a club as it's feckin hard and comes up against a lot of resistance.
As for Liverpool...we've sat across the desk with council very recently as an established and highly thought of club and it's still an absolute No. The same goes for Sefton, Knowsley, widnes/ Warrington and Chester. They will give Temporary Events Notices for one off parties but with restrictions and the restrictions are just too tight for what swingers want to do. There is a very good reason why Liverpool won't allow a swingers and haven't does for nearly 10 years, but I'm not willing to share that here.

Oh and like I said, there is a good reason why Liverpool won't allow a swingers club...they would allow 'certain events' that require an alcohol licence or a TEN but it wouldn't be called a swinging event or fetish event, hence why it's just not suitable for swingers. But that's as far as I go on that one. |

A new club would be great for choice but it depends on its target audience and prices. I've been to a few clubs and some have been great others in the Manchester area have been poor and seedy.
It's all about clientele and that effects the image that is portrayed for a club, several I've been to with friends were spoiled by harassment and being met by young guys with their tackle out the moment we walked in. I know this has put off several couples and ladies from returning to clubs |

"You've hit the nail on the head.
Anywayyyy, I will step down from my soapbox now and shut the feck up!!! lol xxx"

Interesting that you say Warrington and Chester are no-go areas but what about in-between at Northwich? I ask because it has a very large, popular gay sauna in the town that draws clientele from all over the North. If the council allow that, surely they would have to allow a swingers club too? In fact, that location used to run swingers and fetish nights as well some years ago but then decided to concentrate just on the gay market.
I even know a location that might be suitable - a detached, closed pub/restaurant on a main road, with a car park and no residential housing nearby. I don't have the money or experience to attempt something like this though but I wish someone would do in this area - we're near enough an hour from any club... |

Liverpool has gay saunas, lap dancing bars and brothels that the council/police turn a blind eye to. But a swingers club?? They don't want to know. Same thing over there. Sauna Sauna in Northwich has been going for years with no problems whatsoever, so it should be a good 'role model' if you like for a green light on a swingers club. But it seems not.
I have been given several reasons by Liverpool council of why they won't allow a permanent club in the area and none of them make sense to me; I'm sure I would hear the same reasons in the Vale Royal area too.

The club at Sauna Sauna in Northwich was called Toga Toga. Lack of support killed it. We went quite a few times and it never got anywhere near busy. They decided to revert to just men only because swingers did not go there. Had it been well attended it might well still be a swingers venue on weekend nights. It did suffer from bad publicity from supporters of a rival club at the time though which didn't help. |

The residents also didn't like the idea of a swingers club and complained...they are ok with a gay sauna though?! Back to the old swinger discrimination which just wouldn't be allowed now in the LGBT community! |

Anywayyyy, I will step down from my soapbox now and shut the feck up!!! lol xxx" |

I thought there would be some history but although I attended toga toga a few times before moving to the area (and it seemed reasonably busy but just far too large a location - it's truly massive) I don't get how residents can complain about a swingers club but not a gay sauna. Perhaps they daren't be seen as anti lgbt these days? And annoyingly at the time there weren't more than a couple of houses nearby, though they are now building a massive estate opposite. Will be interesting to see if that causes any issues, hope not. |

"You've hit the nail on the head.

Club entice. It's got a nice ring to it. Let's keep our fingers crossed and support the growth. From a Preston local. Would rather help create an amazing swingers club close to me than constantly pay for travelling and accommodation just to visit other good clubs |

Private party's..what makes you think people charge? Alot of parties simply happen because clubs have prices which deter single men and discriminate openly. It's about time clubs charge a fairer price and gave group bookings a discount. A single is a single regardless of gender. Most private parties do not charge they might put food on and friends will chip in and if ever there is money left over it gets donated to a charity. |

Nice to see another club opening. Pity the other club news is abfabs/ Kestrels closing due to incorrect planning permission and complaining residents The north west is fast becoming the swinging region of the U.K. ..... More clubs the higher the bar gets raised The only winner is the customers Good luck with the new venture X |

I'm definitely looking forward to this, It will be great to have a club pretty much on my doorstep. From the Club Entice profile it certainly looks that it's going to be a classy place. Certainly what Preston needs and will also be better for my bank balance not having to get taxis, trains etc. I wish you every success with it and hope I will be able to see you there soon. |

We'd be delighted to welcome you to the club and thank you for your comment. We hope you enjoy the place as much as we've enjoyed creating a venue for everyone's tastes. It will have a classy and sophisticated look with modern interior designs |
