I'm staying at the travel lodge, is VA walkable? Says 20mins according to google but is the route walkable? (Possibly a silly question!)

Some people do it but it involves crossing the Black Cat roundabout junction and walking next to the busy A1. If the weather is OK, you have decent shoes and are wrapped up well, maybe try Travelodge to VA's and then decide if it's worth doing the same to get back.

We would say get a taxi, however get the club to recommend their firm of choice and call them. If you go with those the hotel suggest while there they are reluctant to come as are all Bedford based!

Another option, drive down and leave your car overnight. There's plenty of room!!

I would say don't walk it, taxis £10 each way.

You never know you may be able to share on the way back??

Contact the club for taxi number.

It's absolutely ridiculous to even think about walking. It's about 1 mile.

I own land that you would have to walk past, you would be walking on a narrow pavement 3/4 feet away from Lorries travelling at 50/60 mph , and over a very dangerous road bridge right out in the country, with nothing between you and the traffic, 3/4 feet away from fast traffic..After all, it's the A1 trunk road... Not the place to be if you have been drinking ....... I don't want to read in the local paper that someone has been run over
