Xtasia and things to do around it!

Hi All,
Were thinking of making a trip up to Xtasia as out first proper foray into Swinging. Reason for Xtasia, seems the clothing options are a bit more open which we are comfortable with.
Anyway, we would be heading up from Swansea, and make it a Friday and Saturday night thing. We only know that there is a Premier Inn near by, but aside from that, not much else!
Are there places near to go for a drink to say get over our nerves? And during the day, is there anything interesting to do around those parts? Saying were going to Bromwich may raise a few questions!(we need someone to look after the little ones).
Cheers for any input/ suggestions. |

Birmingham is only a short bus ride away. Great bars n restaurants. Flirts ( the adjoining pub) is a good place to unwind and get to know folk. It's a 30 second walk from the premier inn. The owners of Xtasia are great, friendly and will give you the full guided tour |

Xtasia and the Premier Inn are right next door to each other. Agacent to them both is a medium sized shopping centre, tesco and a few outlet shops.
There are a few local pubs, we wouldn't.
Xtasia have bought the pub at the front of their building, it's now called Flirts and is only for XT members.
To be honest if you want day time entertainment or major shopping take a trip down the road to Birmingham. |

Cheers for responses.
What are XT members?
So, am I correct in thinking then its straight into the club then, as opposed to say a few drinks in bar first then heading into the actual club?
Just trying to understand layout. If there aren't really any other places to drink, and then its straight into the club, might be a bit too big of a step for us (yes we are a little useless!) |

The club is behind the pub. So it's a cpl of drinks in the hotel, then into flirts for a pre club drink and social, then off into the club after that. Perfect . XT members are Xtasia members. You have to be a Xtasia member to use flirts( the pub) |

This is what makes Xtasia unique. You can chat amongst your selfs in flirts, or make new friends in a clean fun environment before actually going into the club. ( remember your ID for membership) plenty of choice drinks wise, better than pub prices, pool table( don't play Paul, he's better than he lets on) |

The immediate area isn't conducive to going out for a walk or drink, have worked up there extensively.
Not been to Xtasia yet but hear very good reports.
As for a reason to go , Birmingham has the Bull Ring shopping centre and the new Grand Central. Both large shopping destinations. Also the Mailbox , high end shops (Harvey Nicholls) and some excellent bars and restaurants
As has been said, there is a bar in the hotel itself and then the pub which they have taken over. I don't think any play goes on in the pub part so you should be fine.

"Not sure when you're thinking of going, just note that this Saturday is a sell out already. See the note from Xtasia in the forum."
Ah it wouldn't be until January/ Feb as we are busy up until then.
Cheers for advice - so I guess we could sign up as members in the pub then?
Been into Brimingham a few times with work but not really spent any quality time there. By the sounds of it its not on the other side of the world to where the club is, so won't get too many questions lol!
Thanks all, much appreciated. |

As well as the Premier Inn next door to _tasia you also have the Park Inn hotel just down the road ( literally a 2 minute taxi ride or a 10 minute walk away).
Pubs in West Bromwich itself, the weatherspoons is okay and do a good full English breakfast, as does the station cafe on the high street (cheaper than a full English in the hotel).
Flirts bar located in front of _tasia is the best place to go for pre club drinks though. |

If your looking for things to say your doing on your weekend away birmingham and surrounding area has loads .... Shopping in Birmingham, Jewellery Quarter which has many jewellery shops as you could ever wish to see lol... Stratford upon Avon is a short train ride away. Birmingham Botanical Gardens are beautiful and there is the sea life Centre. There is plenty to say that will give you cover. Enjoy x |

Birmingham City Centre is a tram ride away with the nearest stop about 5 mins walk from the premier inn... Alternatively if your like us and just need to chill out between 2 nights of club including flirts try the park inn just down the road, it's got a health spa for a relaxed break...

We regularly do what you are contemplating and sometimes even for three nights if it happens to be a bank holiday weekend. The best excuse to give anyone is that some Hotels give really good rates if you book in advance and indeed this is true. You can pay £35 / night at certain Premier Inns (including West Bromwich Central) if you book in advance. Lots of people go away for the weekend just to have a couple of nights in a different environment and I doubt anyone would even consider guessing you were going for a Swingers weekend away just cos you fancied a cheap weekend away in a nice hotel...
As for nearby food outlets. There is a Nando's and a Hungry Horse at the nearby shopping centre and there are take aways and fast foods all around. The hotel also does food as does Flirts bar (the pub also owned by Xtasia).
Our suggestion would be to not overhink things and just look at the Xtasia website for a weekend that interests you and then check the Premier Inn prices and go for it. |

Been a long time since we went to Cadbury World. Do they still have the Creme Egg train? |

And not forgetting the famous "Crooked House" pub. Have your pic taken outside that place, your mates back home won't believe what they will see. |

Premier Inn is advertising £70 for two nights on those dates!"
Cheers everyone for the info!

"Keep the thread going for suggestions...I'll add a page to the club web site with ideas soon. "
Good idea.
In addition to those mentioned, the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery has some great exhibitions and a chance to see the Staffordshire Horde.
There is also an excellent cafe that does really nice cream teas in there.
Ikon Gallery in Birmingham for the more "out there" art exhibitions.
The museum of the Jewellery Quarter is outstanding. |

There is a great Jerky takeaway across the road from the Premier inn.
Top tip....
Don't try and eat in bed with your fingers when you are d*unk unless you are really brazen and really don't care what the hotel housekeepers might think |

Cannock is half an hour drive from West Bromwich (if the roads are clear) and near to cannock you have the Hednesford hills raceway, (worth a visit if you enjoy motorsport). It's mainly stock car racing, banger racing and demolition derby, the caravan races are also fun to watch. It's not on every weekend so need to Google for the different events and dates they have. |
