It's all relative.. The best for me isn't likely to be the best for you. You should think about which ones you can easily get to and read the reviews. Also look at their website too.
As for having someone to go with, I would suspect that if you can't walk into a club on your own, you'll probably struggle to talk to people once you get in there too. Just "be brave", walk in and talk to everyone.
