Isn't it a bit risky by having nonmembers enter ??
I'm thinking the saftety of the ladys would be put at risk. By having members everyone's addresses are held and therefore would act as deterrent |

On the day that we invite non members in, our guests need to bring 2 forms of ID, their details are taken down on a reception list for the day but are not kept. Once everyone has left and all is well following the event, the list is destroyed.
A private members club, with the privileges that go with it, should always keep details of their guests when they are on the premises, whether they are member or not; some clubs don't do this though. |

"Any decent club will require membership "
No.
Any decent club will require proof of identity. There's a difference.
Requiring someone to join as a member deters one off/very occasional visitors due to the cost - if you're only likely to be in the area once or twice a year is it worth it?
However any 'decent club' as you put it should always be able to identify anyone on the premises - as was outlined above.
If more clubs did one off entry they'd probably get more people visiting from further afield.

I've been to many decent clubs that didn't require me to join. Chameleons is one of them.
I suspect its more likely that men need to be members of certain clubs. |

Are there clubs that require you to prove who you are and not become members ? |

Yes.
Many clubs run guest nights. Non members are welcome to attend but must provide ID in order to enter.
