New Swinging Club in Bournemouth/Poole

Jump to: Newest in thread

Does anyone think that there would be a good enough market for a NEW club around Bournemouth and Poole? As far as I can tell there is only the Paradise Spa and thats not for everyone.

I'm thinking something away from the city centres but a location impressive enough for people to feel like they are being treated to a special night out, even if they dont play. Canapes, classic erotic movies played; a room where there would be readings from classic and new erotic books/blogs. Not necessarily a place to go to get your rocks off, but somewhere to open your mind to the multitude of other ways that society and culture is viewing sexuality these days.

Ideally, it would cater for the swingers with some money - and so it would go along the lines of Fever, Killing Kittens and such-like, except a lot more low key; and a lot more strictly controlled. One of the selling points for me about KK was that "the girls make the rules, only girls can break the rules". Having attended one of their parties, this ethos was nowhere to be seen. Single guys were wondering around on their own, pestering couples and single women (Lord knows why/where they left the partner they obviously got through the door with.)

It would involve a large investment but I'm just keen to see if people think there would be interested regulars who would frequent such a place?

Also, to what extent would I (or whoever opens this club) be "stepping on other peoples toes"?

Thanks

R

The thing with "exclusive" is it's a big gamble, and ultimately if your losing money hand over fist, you're not doing yourself or your customers any favours.

I'm sure people will have their differing views on it but even 175 full thread replies of "yes it's a great idea!" Is only the tip of the ice berg.

More importantly what has your research told you outside of here - Obviously you can't compare like for like so take the components tgat make up your club and compare them on your merit. Fur example, if you have lots of "normal" exclusive clubs that are jammed out every Saturday night, and lots of swingers clubs the same then you can start to do the maths on what % fall into the same demographic and go from there.

All is say is, I've seen a lot more empty shutdown classy restaurants than I have McDonalds...;)

My fb wanted to go to a club or spa with me, I suggested Paradise, he didnt fancy it, wants to go somewhere else, but id have to get on a train, travel is not easy to arrange for me.

This sounds like it might suit us better, as its nearer me and he drives to me anyway but it sounds like it would be expensive to get into. Not sure of prices of KK, id have to look into it. Do I watch this space? Maybe

Bournmouth for us us is a perfect location to have a club. Not too close to home. And not too far away. There's no decent club in this area of the U.K.

But not the type you are talking of, now something along the lines of the set up Xstasia has got to is would be perfect.

I know this kind of business isn't about making money really. But to us that type of club makes more sense and would probably bring a bigger profit than a exclusive club that opens 2 times a month.

Something that gives you choice of which night of the week you want to attend. Different themes nights Aswell.

That's what the is really missing around our area

It's a big gamble it's very hard buissness to make money in most clubs only do it as that swing too and only just beak even thay do it more for love than the money from what I read and chatted to but South Coast might be a good place for a more up market club and if it had rooms you could stay the night in would be a good idear the Vanilla Alternatvie do well as thay have 12 rooms you can book for the night. An old hotel or holiday park would be a good place to run one but its a lot of investment good luck

Well we would love to see a club in Bournemouth.

But can we ask a question.

Why is it that only people who are well off shshould have access to a more sophisticated club?

We are not loaded but would love the opportunity to attend a club that's not full of grubby looking guy's who follow women round like flys round shit.

Also we don't want to be alienated coz of our age, like we are with kk.

I think after attending a few club nights now the thing that would make the biggest difference would Infact be the host's themselves.

More staff visible in uniform that's identifiable without being intimidating.

Host that chat with guest's mingle, introduce couples to other couples, etc..

Lots of nooks and crannies to hide in or relax or play.

Relaxing lounge areas.

Maybe ones with signs above doors announcing people's intentions.

Ie

Soft swingers lounge

Full swing lounge.

Social only

Anything goes

Basically more clearly identifiable sections that take away the guess work and let's everyone know exactly what you are looking for without the whole sitting looking awkward, and being followed around.

if you can find a way of getting people to feel at ease and relaxed as soon as they arrive, get communication going, and finally have something for everyone. Then you will be onto a winner.

But don't forget the huge amount of European guests in Bournemouth so client base maybe very diverse culturally.

Sounds like you are confusing exclusive with pretentious. Book readings? Classic erotic movies? To ve honest it sounds horrendous.

As VA prove upmarket doesn't need to be elitest

There's a party at the other spa tonight it's advertised in people's status, it's being held in a gay play so it will be a higher standard of decor than paradise, which incidentally is a great place and I go a lot

Don't beput off by people saying it's rubbish etc

near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack!

There was a gay club in the Triangle which used to have regular swinger nights but I don`t think it was a success at all!

Would love a new club in

This area not much around here . Me and my man say if we win the lottery we are going to open an elite swinger club . Jacuzzi, dancing girls and topless waitresses, big disco room, chill out room with massage couches, fetish room, cinema room , Dom and sub room every room l o l !!!! And of course a roof top bar and sun lounges for the nice weather when we have it . Mind u planning permission would be a nightmare

Showers that work would be bonus. (Paradise alumni will know what i mean). I personally would like to see another place like this open up.

If it was a bit more central it could be very popular and potentially profitable. Rios in london for example is popular (venue wise not neccesarily experience wise as.i know a few people have had off experiences. I think Concealed private garden for summer sun bathing would be ideal. It would be more appealing(and easier to get planning permission) if it had a dual function with the extra curricular additions suttley added.

The saunabar is ok. Maybe too central for people as it is on main road. Now they have a descrete side entrance but still. Not heard about swing nights as this caters mainly for gay and bi clientelle. If someone hired it for a night it could work well.

It would be great to have somewhere nearer home. Though whether we'd get through your exclusive filter I wonder.

You'll never satisfy everyone, some like certain clubs and some will think the same club is a dump.

Only thing you can do is look at all the clubs and see what attracts people. Then roll the dice and take your chances.

I'd think the hardest thing will be planning. You can forget about Southampton and the new forest. The councils and local paper would never agree after they binned jct2.

So for us we'd love a set up like BGHS outside areas for sunbathing or fun, camping/caravans for naturist staying over but most importantly a management with backbones to keep the solitary men (whether single or just dumped partner at bar) under control.

Bournemouth

As occasional visitors to bounemouth, would love a club along the lines of chameleons in darlaston. Paradise too small & too many singles. Never been to sauna bar but from there website regular swingers nights there should work. Hopeyou can get it together
