Can anyone shed some more light on Le Boudior?

In the past we have enjoyed classy clubs like VA and intimate apartment parties and wondered if LB is a genuine club or a private party type event?

It looks like a new members club... There is a website. Opens 13th Feb.

A little risk joining in case you don't really like it and don't go back as there is a members fee.

But then if its good... Then who knows....

I expect many will wait for others to review it rather than risk £100 for a couples night at a new club

If its nice though and takes off then its great having other choices of places to go.

Short of the exclusive "killing kitten" type events that have a reputation and member base already it does seem an expensive choice. Hopefully it will find its niche on the scene.

Hope it is as good as it seems.. although no pics of it on the gallery is a bit off putting.

Membership is like most clubs in that respect - paid for a few we have never returned to... risk you take..

Easy to get to on the train for us.. we'd love to find a quality club we can go to without having to add a hotel onto the costs of the night out.

Have to wait for more people to try it.. wont be able to get there til end of March.. see what the feedback/response is like by then..

You would have though maybe a try before you join or even a free/reduced night for Cpls/fems on there opening night just to get a few reviews.

Think we might just wait until the reviews start coming in.

We will also be waiting until it's had a few reviews before we commit . We've a few unused memberships under our belts so tend to let other people people try before we buy these days .

Membership seems steep for an unproven club. As does an admission of £50 for an unlicensed club.

We'll join the others on the 'wait and see' list

we're heading to London on the weekend of 27/28th march.. so we might go, but it will depend on a large number of reviews.

Not paying £50 for membership and £50 to get in just to drink our own we bought in the shop next door and then go elsewhere cos it's dead and never go again.

Paid enough to get to Liberty Elite recently for an empty club with crap atmosphere nights and thats an established club!

After contacting them regarding ts/tv membership and payment to what is described on there website as a LGBT friendly club. Have been told that I need to join as a man. And pay as a man. On top of that seems they wish to segregate us to a separate night. The email seemed cold and so why should I spend a fortune to glam.

I hope that they have a change of heart as other clubs make arrangements for our sex.

Based on info on their website I have a suspicion that this is a dry hire promotion in to part of a venue, hence no pics as it only exists on the night.

The high initial membership looks like a grab for cash up front to seed an idea.

I will watch this with interest

London

Hello all, thanks for the feedback, both the good and the somewhat judgemental, even before the doors have even opened

If you have any legitimate questions, please feel free to ask directly, though an email is perhaps easier.

We do welcome all your comments though and it will help us to make sure that what we deliver is the experience you want it to be. So lets tackle some of the queries.

Why no pics - because FAB kept rejecting them originally because they didn't meet their rules. But there are some on the profile and there will be more to come when we have them that do justice to the venue.

Why the costs? Well, there is no regular venue in London since the F Club closed and the reason for that is the aggravation and cost of finding a location coupled making it in to something special - never mind on going costs.

So no, we won't be the cheapest club you'll ever go to but then again, ask yourself if you are the type of person who will only go somewhere because it is cheap?

Notwithstanding membership - for which there are concessions available (see next paragraph), our prices are competitive to venues outside of London, but clearly without the travel costs if you live within the capital.

For the comments about reduced admission incentives, we are ahead of the game because we have evouchers to send out with free membership on our opening weekend and others for half price admission and events thereafter. But, this site rejected the jpegs when we uploaded them to the club profile in order to be able to email them to you if you made an enquiry. so the only way we can send you these to you is if/when you might register with us for membership - and remember that doesn't cost you a penny.

Is this a dry hire promotion - No, we have taken the time to secure a venue and convert accordingly.

The response to the opening weekend has been strong, in fact we are very pleased. Will we be at capacity, of course not, but then again we can cater for over 300, but we look like a good crowd on both Friday and Saturday, but we also have few concerns about the post event reviews that we might get if you would prefer to wait a while.

Nikki - thanks for your email and I am sorry you feel the way you do, but we are not in the habit of making sound bites and because you didn't get the answer you wanted to hear, doesn't make it the wrong answer. Whilst you choose to be a woman by night, you remain a man and therefore male membership applies.

Your response is disappointing because we have tried to embrace your lifestyle choice, but it is also unfortunate that some couples feel less comfortable around TV's and we have to consider how to balance the two.

So come on guys, keep the knocking until you have experienced the club, it has been a Herculean effort by everyone involved to get a new one open in London and we hope you come to enjoy it, this weekend or sometime in the future.

K xx

Well, it's certainly closer than Abfabs, and looks to be a nice venue. central London needs a club, considering the closest club to the city is OP4F out in Alexandra palace.

The membership may be quite high but then entry prices are inline with other swingers clubs in London.

Hope all goes well with your venture and hopefully I'll get to visit the club in the near future.

Well... the club website has been updated, it now says £25 membership for couples rather than £50, there are more photos and more info.

Mr has signed us up, tempted I'm sure by the free membership offer mentioned above! So it looks like we will be heading over on Saturday, We may see some of you there?

Interesting update.

Will keep an eye on the forums for reviews.. with a potential visit from us on the card for late march..

If it can do as well as the f club a few years back with pulling in the punters and quality event nights, we'll def be making the effort to get there.

Looks like the club are just opening a little early hearing excuses about decor and pics etc seems to be a bit of a rush, fact is your asking for money upfront for something people are not too sure about, if you really want to establish your club properly you would have offered a temporary membership at £10 and a low rate for entry, not also sure about your credibility, rumour has it you're involved with Vanilla Alternative is this true? You claim it's an upmarket club how do you justify that? not by the area it's in surely! No licensed bar, any up market venue would have a licensed bar, not upmarket is it walking in with a carrier bag or do you provide a designer up market bag for your patrons?

Really, you know nothing about the place, haven't referenced any of the opening deals they have on memberships etc (details in another thread) you just wanna have a go.

The fact that you are having a go a a place you have never been to, says a lot about you rather than the club. is it really that necessary to be that mean spirited?

We will be visiting on Saturday, I will be in a position to make my mind up about the place once I have visited, not from what appears to be very sour grapes from somebody involved with another club!

Not at all you presume that because we host at one club we don't visit other clubs and that is not true at all and there are many well run clubs around that we enjoy visiting, we think all our points are valid, would you pay for something in advance without knowing all the details and with little recourse if your unhappy? Me neither, would I be happy to go to a claimed to be upmarket club with no licensed bar, mm no

Good question!

And it says on the site that photos are not mandatory for membership but you may (particularly single men because we know what they're like right?) be asked to provide one. So if it's not mandatory, presumably I can say no to providing one and still be given membership?

Also, a question about phones:

They're a central London club and they're seriously suggesting that people leave their phones at home or in their car?

I live in central London so don't need a car and would get there by tube or bus. And I'm damned well not leaving my phone at home when I go out.

The only other option is to put it in the cloakroom where there is no responsibility taken. Ridiculous. Most clubs have lockers.

Money upfront for something new, do you pre visit every hotel you stay in before you go there? Money is pretty much the only way of getting a commitment from someone, especially in this scene.

How many clubs in the UK have a licensed bar? (as a percentage?)

How many clubs in the UK have a members application process? (although I suspect this is connected to their restrictions of having to be a 'members club') - So to some extent the clientele are in someway vetted or at least who they say they are.

Where are the excuses of about decor? Have you ever project managed anything? Would you release photos of a part built house if you were trying to sell it despite you having detailed completion date? Here's some pics of our foundations please pay now... No, sensible people wait, get a polished/perfect finish then take it to the market in full glory.

Area of the club, based on the postcode it's 5 mins walk from the Gherkin, yeah, that's a real dive of an area! I work in the City, I know the area well.

Your message looks very bitter, why knock something before you have experienced it yourself or have a reliable opinion from someone you trust and have similar standard too?

What makes it worse is that you come across as knocking a competitor as I note you also run parties?

Le Boudoir,

Not sure if we will be there tonight but we will certainly be paying you a visit soon. Congratulation on your new business venture and we wish you every success.

Not sure it's competition for a club night we run where it's £20 on the door and if you're unhappy you can have your money back, a night I hasten to add at attracting new peope to clubs, I'm simply pointing out some issues I see that's all nothing more not sure about your analogy with a hotel as generally they are established and we know generally what we are getting, So let me get this right they want people to pay in advance give out all there personal details and then turn up with a carrier bag of drink, possibly some money and no mobile phone eh!

Wow, some haters are out in force tonight! lol..

What motivates you guys? Central London hasn't had a regular venue since the F Club closed and still a handful of you want to knock it before it opens.

Ok, here goes. We ask you not to bring phones because they all have camera's these days and for the discretion of everyone lets remove the temptation for selfies... I think this camera request is the same with almost every club we've ever been in to.

But, yes we do have lockers, lots of them in fact, so why not put your phone in there and it'll be all nice an cosy.

Decor, you'll be pleasantly surprised. But then again you'd have to come and take a look....

Yes we ask for pre-registration and there is a solid reason for this. But we don't ask for a penny upfront! You can register for free and pay on the door the same as any other club.

It is pretty simple guys, if you want to come then great, if you don't well, we'll miss you of course

Have a great and sexy weekend everybody x

Hull but travel regularly

Went to the club this evening. Great place, nice well thought out facilities, lovely friendly owners, will be perfect when more people attend/give it a chance (most clubs quiet tonight due to 50 shades and valentines so not just here). Will be returning!

We're staying in St Paul's area in London tonight so may pop in around midnight if we have the energy.

We registered on the website without any headache and certainly were not asked for any upfront payment.

We wish you success and the area needs a club.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

A friend and I went last night.

It's obvious the club has made a huge effort to get ready and to achieve the look they want. It does look great.

The club has huge potential: the space is very large with varied areas and more of an upmarket feel than any club I have been to. If I had seen this space when arranging my party I would have booked it there.

The open lounge area has a large open floor that would be great for dancing. There are four private rooms with generous sized beds for those that need to space for themselves or a mini tangle of many limbs. The dungeon is in the old bank safes so has a real dungeon feel. There is a lovely pommel horse but I would need a leg up to get up there.

Upstairs there is a very large room which would be ideal for hire as a private party space on club nights. It would provide the privacy for invited guests and the chance to mingle with club guests and maybe invite them up. It would need somewhere for drinks though.

There is a shower and even a dressing table with hairdryer in the locker room. Lockers are plentiful and lockable. Lots of toilets in various areas too.

The hosts and staff are welcoming and attentive. No money was taken beforehand and the need to register 48 hours beforehand protects them and their licence in a borough that really demands this.

It is well located for transport and going out for dinner beforehand. If you're hungry after you leave the club there even a burger and hotdog van just a step away.

Now all is not perfect.

The club is going to have to speed up on checking people in as they grow. As numbers attending are low as they get known the space is too large and I would close down some areas for now. The lighting in the dungeon is blue and makes it feel cold. The toilet nearest the private rooms lets down the overall look (although the others are much better). The downstairs kitchen play or lounge area at the bottom of the spiral staircase is neither one thing or another but I suppose it could be good for the sploshers with a little bit of thought.

Give it a go but remember, every club night is as much down to the clientele on the night as to the hosts and venue. If you go expecting your good time laid on for you then you may not have a good time. Read the website, as I did, and you know what to expect. Sort out your membership and don't get the hump because you're told you can't attend on a whim - once you're a member you can follow your whim.

Finally, my friend and I broke one of the 'rules' with the hosts blessing (permission sort of sought) and I'm sure we'll be back to test out the other areas.

One quick thing.. after registering and joining.. are you able to turn up (being a member) without notification?

Is that what is meant by the last bit of your post?

I have assumed this. I can't see why not in these early stages. The club will need numbers to be successful but there is always the potential for membership to be revoked and my guess is that they would tell people.

The club is easy for me to get to and really has the potential to be somewhere I would want to visit regularly. As I said, if this was open when I was considering my party I would have booked it there.

Hi Licketysplit - thanks for the review, warts and all, I am going to take it as B+ with potential to get an A! lol.

Glad you like what we have done with the old place

And yes quite correct, once people have become members, they can swipe in with your membership card so it will be quite slick.

He has the card and I didn't handle it but I think I noticed it was like a credit card, maybe with a barcode?

Hi,

Just thought we should share our thought on this place (we will write a review in the club section too).

The website and profile pictures really do not do the place justice, it's HUGE!!!!

The layout and areas kind remind me of Chams (although less ornate/complete which is to be expected from anywhere on their opening night).

The social/lounge/dance floor area is vast with nice Italian barman to serve your drinks and nibbles.

The dungeon area is also huge and it is indeed an old bank. The authenticity ambience of a real cage that you know you could never get out of should someone lock you in it is quite impacting versus the usual painted broom sticks, after all, bank vaults are kind of built to keep people out!

The top level of the building (there are three accessible levels at the moment) is a large room with huge deep foam/leatherette covering which I imagine will be exceptional for huge group sessions, the room is by far the largest room I have been which is solely dedicated for big group sessions, all decorated in red and cream.

So, would we go again? Yes despite it being in a far from ideal location from us driving wise.

We live 5 mins away from AbFabs and have two young children so we always need a babysitter when we go out, so adding another 2Hrs childcare to your evening to visit another club has to be worth it when you have the option of AbFabs on your doorstep.

The owners and hosts are lovely and unlike most places we have visited they do actually make an effort to host (although if it was super busy this obviously gets harder).

I'll link my review to this forum thread once I've written it.

For those of you who are going tonight, have fun, the place is great!

xx

Sounding good!

We loved the OLD F Club as you could walk ther corridors and see what was happening, and decide on the room you wanted to go and explore and have fun in.. like the dungeons, hareem room, cinema room etc all these were plenty away from the party atmosphere of the bar and dance floor.

Close to Liv St Stn.. easily got to via Paddington from a 3 hour train from Wales..

Hope it's good and pulls in people..

Hope to visit late March..

Well went last night had a terrific time, I can't believe how big it is. This place has great potential The main social bar is lovely as is the reception. Hosts very friendly. This place would need 300 people to feel full we were out of breath after the tour. Only a couple of small criticisms the hallways are a bit bright and office like, easily resolved with some lower lighting and a lick of paint and the gloryholes need sanding I wouldn't put my cock through them I would be worried about a splinter. Overall an excellent effort I liked the dungeon in the old vault we had some terrific fun in the massive open play area upstairs. There are also several lockable rooms a large smoking area. We got free membership this weekend which I believe was promotional for the opening weekend it cost us £60 to get in but that's it all soft drink are inclusive for that, it's byo booze which is served to you. £60 entrance fee I know will sound a lot to people used to paying less but you must remember where this club is London is one of the most expensive cities in the world I challenge anyone to have a night out in London for £60

I'm glad the open play area was used to properly christen the club. I'm still claiming the accolade for the opening bonk.

Really good to hear that last night went well.

"I challenge anyone to have a night out in London for £60 "

I pay £23 to get into Antichrist (held at Electrowerkz in Angel) which has multiple dance floors, live bands & acts, a fully equipped and monitored dungeon/play area and a couples play room and generally has around 750+ people in attendance.

So yeah, £60? I don't think so.

Someone prefaced that with "I challenge you to find a cheaper night out in London" and he responded to that.

entry is double that of ourplace4fun (also in London) and possibly slightly more than the hellfire club (also in London) and even a bit more than adfabs (just on the outskirts of London).

Someone made a bold statement about this club being the cheapest night out in London while unless I'm missing something it's actually not. In fact not even close.

A lot of you would do well to try and engage in a constructive debate instead of calling anyone who has questions about the club a hater and then trying to straw man the points.

Its good there is hopefully another quality club in London at decent price no need for a raft of silly claims by over excitable people who want to nail their colours to the fotm.

And at Antichrist it's £25 for a couple. And it's open from 10PM to 6AM. So yeah, I'll keep going there instead thanks.

Agree. We've often thought that one of the main reasons we have so many UK clubs of dubious quality is that Brit swingers are too tight.

For those of us this side of London AbFabs, Hellfire and others is over an hour away (longer if there is traffic on the M25). Having something that is 10/15 minutes away is much handier, which is one of the reasons I enjoy OP4F.

Non of those are actually in Central London.

Just by saying London that covers the space of about 4 counties.

If you go by BAA, southend, stanstead and luton are also all London.

Of course there are cheaper "nights out" in London or Central London.. personally we like MOS and Fabric - but swing club wise.. there is nothing in Central London.

Just a few thoughts (based on my having not yet attended):

Did I read right that someone said "only club in London since F Club closed" or do they mean "only club in Central London?

Firstly:

F Club closed down? Wow, I missed the news on that.

F club is in Wandsworth, that's definitely not Central London.

If only club in London, I'm sure OP4F (also never been) would have one or two things to say to that).

Not sure about the £60 for 2 people comment, on the one hand that's entry for 2 guys at Eurekas. On the other hand, it sounds pricier than a couples night at AbFabs (although I haven't been in years so my info may be out of date).

What I am more interested in, did I read correctly that no public displays of affection? If this is correct then,.. who's to offend? Other swingers at the venue who will be utterly shocked by such outrageous behaviour? I don't want to feel I'm in a pub being civilised with a consenting adult

Technically, OP4F isn't central London. The price is similar to AbFabs for a couple and, for me, without the hour long drive.

There is one central lounge area, partly viewable from the reception area. This is the area where you aren't allowed to play. This is to comply with their licence, I believe. The venue isn't a club 24/7.

It's quiet at the moment as people get to know it but I really would urge you not to judge until you visit. However, if it sounds like somewhere you'll never visit then judge away.

I haven't judged actually (nothing to judge on as haven't seen anything) but merely pondering the thoughts, letting it swirl in my head. I personally am a big believer in "have a look, at worst won't like it".

But as a general thought, why don't more clubs offer a "taster" day? even if its once every 6 months where a new visitor can "try before you buy" in effect?

I know of 2 clubs that in the M25 area that tried this to great success, and I think it would benefit LeBoudoir also, rather than first time visitors feel they have to pay out on membership with no guarantee if its a venue they would re-visit. But like I said, this is merely a suggestion to all clubs and not in anyway aimed at LeBourdoir only.
