plucking up the courage

I'm dying to go to a club but cannot find the balls to just stroll in on my own. I think it's because I have no idea what to expect and what to do? Etc etc, any guys that have gone through this, please help a brother out !!!!!  |

Try a newbie night or a singles night you will be right as rain you just got to smile and be friendly |

I imagine we all went through the first time nerves and one stage. The big hurdle is taking that step through the door the first time, be confident, walk tall, smile and chat to people. Most people in clubs are sympathetic to the newbies nerves and will try to help you feel comfortable or introduce you to regulars, etc. |

We love clubs...and we understand that it is very nerve-racking going for the first time..but there's nothing to be scared of...just do it....and there'll be no going back..lol
One more thing you really do need to calm your nerves down, if you want to be successful at clubs. Going to a club and just standing in a corner is not going to get you much fun/attention. You need to chat/socialise and get known, you'll soon be having a great time with some fantastic people.

We love clubs...and we understand that it is very nerve-racking going for the first time..but there's nothing to be scared of...just do it....and there'll be no going back..lol
One more thing you really do need to calm your nerves down, if you want to be successful at clubs. Going to a club and just standing in a corner is not going to get you much fun/attention. You need to chat/socialise and get known, you'll soon be having a great time with some fantastic people.

I think that what I'm most concerned about, the last thing I want to do, is just stand in the dark corner looking at people, that's no fun for anyone!!!!.
I think it's just human nature to fear the unknown.

Only trouble with socials there is that most of the time the single guys are limited and have to be verified on here. Sort of makes a mockery of it being a fab social. |

Just to clarify, the event mentioned, is NOT a FAB social! It's FFFF (Fab Friends Free Fun) Xtasia's way of saying thank you to Fab members for their support by giving them free entry to the club if on the guest list.
The very first FFFF event held @ Xtasia did infact allow anyone to attend that asked to be put on the list. This lead to quite a few single males attending and quite a few of which behaved badly and there were numorus complaints after. So since that time, all further FFFF events have had single males limited by one way or another!
Xtasia are allowing people in for Free that are on the guest list, but they also have regular members attending and they have to take this into consideration.
With around 250 people each night on the guest list for this already, I think those people are happy with the way Xtasia have arranged things.
I'm just running the list and in no way work for Xtasia, just trying to make things clear,

The nerves never go mate, however it does become more of a nervous excitement the more times you go.
clubs are always full of friendly people who are very chatty, and you don't get anywhere in a club if you're not willing to be social |

You see some people just assume that single guys have nerves of steel and have no problem walking into clubs! This really isn't the case!!!
Over the years I have seen guys literally shaking(god love them) when they approach me at the desk. It's really hard but someone up the thread here said, treat it like a night at the pub. That's exactly what you should do.
Don't go with any expectations. Take it all in, listen to the advice given to you, enjoy a drink, socialise and pat yourself on the back for walking through the door.
Single guys get a terrible deal on the swinging scene...unfortunately some of your peers can be thanked for this and I think that guys are more than aware of this and just don't know the best way to handle themselves to prove they are not one of the nobheads!
Just be yourself and leave the nobheads to us...owners tend to have a special inbuilt radar to spot the troublemakers at a hundred paces!
Relax, enjoy the atmosphere, enjoy the liberation you feel at the club and take things at your own pace.
We actually have a special intro evening for new guys at our club so that you are not walking into a sea of new faces. It works really well and the nobheads don't get past first base. We do this in place of the yearly memberships that some clubs insist upon, but we'd rather have lovely guys and less money.

The other choice is to apply for club membership, and seeing how you're 20 mins drive from us, it may well appeal. If the application gets accepted before Friday, you're welcome along to FFFF, and trust me, from it, you'll get loads of verifications on here!  |
