isis on club section

We are regulars at Isis. It's small and friendly. Nice bar lounge area. Take your own alcohol but they serve soft drinks and keep your drinks in the fridge for you. There is a forum on their website so you may get more tips on there. Usually a nice mix of couples and singles - even some women!
Free membership for couples and reasonable admission prices. Some sessions are free.

just to clarify..isis is not a dump...and just because you havent enjoyed yourselves, there are lots of others who have.
i dont understand why you continue to slag off a club that does nothing but provide you a place to meet and socialise with people.
if you dont like it....dont go..simples. |

We've been to us is along with several other clubs and we found it was nice. The people were friendly and the club was clean. In comparison to some others it is small and not massively busy.
My personal preferences are La Chambre in Sheffield and Club F in Newcastle which are just as nice and friendly but bigger and busier. |

Thanks but the guy was asking for an opinion so we gave one based on several visits. He didn't ask for opinions from people who had one view or another. He stated that he couldn't find a review for it so asked for what folk thought.
So we gave him an opinion based on numerous visits over several years. OUR opinion. We don't agree with yours but don't feel desperate or needy enough to challenge it. You're entitled to it but then again, why are there no longer any reviews in here for him to read?

I've been to Isis as a single girl. I found it basic. The folk that were there made my night thou. A few people ( single men and couples) approached me for a chat as was standing on my own. Made memories and fab friends. |

It depends what your expectations are. If you are used to bigger clubs then you may feel a little let down by it.
I would say that the people make it and it's cheap and cheerful....take your own alcohol.
We went with no expectations and we had a decent night. It was quite quiet though but saying that we've been to La Chambre and only around 10 have been in there.
For us, we would go again but would arrange to meet people there. |

The reason the club is not on the club section is because 1 person who didnt like being told not to break the rules (all clubs have them) took it upon her self to try an ruin the club. Im not desperate or needy,just dnt like unjustice. After all were talking about peoples business,as i said before and will again pop along for yourself if you dnt like it dnt go back |

I never been to isis but I do feel sorry for the owner just because he's not on the club section on here somepeople thinks it ok to slag them off all people have to say is it not our cup of tea not say its a dump if it was a dump why go back a couple of times  |

We went to Isis last night. It's not in the nicest part of Leeds, BUT...having experienced partners and le chambre on many occasions, both of which are miles bigger and glitzier, Isis is the best. Dave and Jo (the owners) are brilliant and so welcoming. The guests are so friendly. I know it's not in the club listings, but WOW |

Got to say as with all things, each to their own. I prefer Isis to Flex as Isis is a proper club, not someone's house. But they both have something for people so if one club doesn't suit, go to the other one.
It's always best not to slag off clubs though. If you don't like a club then OK, move on. But others may like that sort of club and would be happy to have a choice. |

Thanks for all the info from all posters it has not put us off as we can and will decide after the visit.
The bit about not being on review section is still disappointing and whilst not knowing the history behind it other clubs get bad reviews but still on there as the good outweigh the bad.
As said we will try and enjoy the night. |

Isis is my local and have been many times, what it lacks in terms of a wet area ( jacuzzi ) it defiantly more then makes up for it in ambience... The staff are great and the people that attend are always respectful... One of the few clubs that still has a smoking area, not a smoker myself but it's much better then having to either get dressed to go out onto the streets or pile into a mini bus like some other clubs... A definite thumbs up for me; hope you have a great experience  |

flex is not my cup of tea but i wouldnt slag i off i find isis much more relaxed and friendlier i have been to various different mixes of people and themes at isis and will continue to go great club |

We recently went to isis as we were staying in the area on holiday and we had arranged to meet a couple there. It was an nice clean venue friendly staff and even though we went for an afternoon session plenty of fun was had. Next time we are in the area will definitely think about going back. Google Isis quest for their website this is what we did. |

I'm going by clubs in the fab menu, there seems to a lot of clubs there with reviews but Isis is not listed?
The whole point of a review is so people can give there opinions on the club,regardless if it's positive or negative.
I understand Isis got a few bad reviews and decided to remove it from Fab.

Not quite. They got a few fake reviews so decided to remove themselves from Fab. They're still going, and one of my favourite clubs to visit. |

Fake reviews? i read quite a few reviews a while back when Isis did show reviews, some were good and some bad.
if bad reviews were fake, maybe the good reviews were were fake too?
I myself have not been there, however 3 members of fab that i personally know have been there and they were not very complimentary about the place, all went at different times, saying that it was while Isis were showing reviews so maybe it's a totally different place now.

Having said that, I am not going to try and change your mind, and you won't change mine, so why not let the OP discover by themselves? Would it hurt you that bad for someone to go to a club you admit you don't visit?

Isis was listed then de-listed.
There were negative reviews regarding Isis from people that "had" attended and described as a not very nice place to be.
I also read the reviews from people who had "not" attended but dis-regarded them.
As you say best leave it to OP to discover but point of this conversation was that somebody asked about why no reviews for Isis.
As for Flex, was it ever on Fab Clubs List? |

isis is not a dump at all .. ive heard people slag it off and when I went for the first time I was pleasantly surprised its got such a good atmosphere very clean too and I felt totally safe and I prefer isis too the other clubs ive been too |

We have had some fantastic times over the years at Isis and I am sure we will carry on doing so.
Surely the best way to judge anything is to try it for yourself and make your own judgement ? |

We like going to isis midweek, will be there tonight  If we had paid attention to the description given to us by some people we would never have gone, we decided to give it a try anyway and judge for ourselves, very glad we did  |

I have been to Isis many times over the yrs I have been swinging an weather I played or not found it a relaxing night been to many a party there I even did a social at Isis a few yrs ago an some had never been to a club (Dave and Jo ) are friendly down to earth ppl .unlike some clubs I have never come across ppl who think they are better then anyone else at the club unlike some other clubs i have been too only wish k drove as it is one club I would only be yo happy to go yo alone |

A few fake reviews? So you can decide they were fake reviews just by looking at them, can you?
Or are only the reviews that you agree with genuine? Or only genuine if you've met the people at Isis?
I recall it well and it wasn't a few fake reviews but lots of very bad ones. As someone points out above, if the bad ones were fake, are the good ones fake too?
Or as I think Isis is a dump, and went from positive to negative reviews, am I fake and have never been there either? |

if you read up,it says why not on club reviews"
..... and to be fair that is only one side of a story as well........
in my years of being here isis was the defination of a "marmite" as many people loved it as hated it...
the people who didn't like it in the reviews were rounded on by the people who did... and it really looked unseemly to downright nasty at times... it did no one any favours!
whether it was fabs decision to remove it... or it was done at the owners request... it was probably the right thing to do at the time |

Marmite, lol. But true.
I've had it on good authority it was the clubs decision. The good authority being, asking the question at the bar a very good while back.
Isis is still open and clearly people go there and pay money. That is a point worth noting.
Also many people despise the place. That too is worth noting. I do recall that posts and posts ago, the OP did say they were going to visit anyway, so why are folk still bickering?
Because this is what happened on their reviews which has already been noted. |
