Gatehouse - first time today

I'm hoping to go to the Gatehouse for the first time today.

My question is about the dress code mentioned on their website. Does that rule out denim? What is an acceptable dress code?

More importantly, what's the point if people dress down once they're in (that's my understanding at least).

One last question, sorry. Since this is my first time, would it be ok if I just watch or would that be considered rude?

Thanks for any help/advice

People don't dress down when they get in that's the point of the rule at the gatehouse. The reason being it gives the trans folk the opportunity to dress somewhere in safety too if they are not fully out so to speak.

You can wear jeans, just put a shirt on or a nice polo shirt or something, just try not turning up in trackies and sweatshirt and expecting people to flock to you. Lol.

It's a cool place, enjoy it. There are a good bunch of regulars so just try chatting to them.

We used to regulars at the gatehouse. It is in all honesty one of THE most easy going clubs around. You will be welcomed by a very friendly mixed bunch, and there are no hard and fast rules. Unusually this is one club, where you don't 'have' to dress down at any point. Jeans would be fine. You can treat it like your local pub.... With benefits if you so choose. Enjoy I'm sure you will.
