I hadn't been to a club in a while and was suprised to see how many under 25's were there. Some looked under 20. When I was that age I was just happy to be allowed in my local pub!

Yes, we were just saying that last night at our local club.

We started playing in our early 40s and it was rare to see many couples below that age. Now the majority seem to be mid 20s to 30s.

I did not say it mattered, just noting how times have changed! My luck i'll go to a club and find my 20 year old son there!

In just the few years since I started playing I've noticed the age range has become more spread in clubs. When I first started going my FB and I were often the youngest there but now I seem to fall somewhere in the middle...just not looking forward to being one of the oldest in their just yet!!

I always think the same about the police. They look way too young.

Then realise I am just getting older.

I hope us older people aren't going to be excluded as a result! - I wrote a nice message to a 40-year-old woman a few days ago and she replied saying that she didn't do "geriatrics"! I could only reply "As you are now, I once was - as I am now, you will be", but I doubt whether she understood what I was saying. I did think it was rude of her, though.

How rude of her! That's like saying ' I don't do fat people' or 'Ginger people'', peoplke should always be respectful , oh what is the world coming too?

I dunno Mrs C is generally one of the youngest in a club whenever we go anywhere, though we have met a few hot early 20's couples I would say clubs are still dominate by the over 40's.

Yeah, defiantly. I think its the internet, plus (in the club i use) quite a few of the younger people are eastern European(polish, romanian) maybe its a younger thing in these countries.I think its great , personally.

... and that's the reason I gave up my single profile. Pointless, when you get replies like that, ain't it...

ted.

To be fair I'm often one of the youngest and I'm not exactly a baby now... There are a few younger people but I tend to find mid 40s and 50s is the predominant age range at most clubs I go to.

My friend and I went to the Bath swingers club in a Saturday night about a month or so before it closed and there was about 80% if the 20's age group so only played with each other especially as no-one else wanted to play

You only think it was rude. I know it was damned rude. I polite no thank you would have sufficed. We all have out preferences. I won't play with guys younger than 35 but thats because it's near my son in laws age and it just doesn't feel right. I was once questioned by a 23 year old guy asking why I said no thanks. I shouldn't have to explain, no thanks is no thanks but I have a son his age and to me it just feels wrong. xx

I have to say Im shocked by how many there are

When I was in my teens and early twenties I was all about my friends and clubs

Sex wasn't a ' hobby'

Just my opinion

this really grates for us. you expect us to be out clubbing, drinking etc. while people all have their own views can't see it going down well if we were posting saying. god !! shouldnt all the 40 year olds be at home watching the soaps and not swinging

swinging is not a 'hobby' its a way we choose to have our relationship. our hobbies include car shows, eating out etc.

by saying your 'shocked' really makes it sound like your looking down at us because were young and that we shouldn't be doing this

It is surprising how judgemental people can be, in a scene which is not suppose to be judgemental at all.

Times are changing. I went to my first club when I was 28 and I was surprised how much younger the scene felt on that ocasion.

The simple fact is that there are people from all ages, races and types, than there ever were before, from all over the world. The internet changed everything, as was said before, its the digital age.

And if someone wants to have swinging as part of their relationship when their younger, who are we to judge them for it? Any more than they should judge others for doing it when their older. Maybe when their older, they won't want it as part of their relationship and it might be better for them to find that out sooner rather than later, who can say?

It's not just the social dynamics of swinging that are changing, its other things too.

If people over the age of 21 are allowed to legally drink drive and smoke and have sex, then who are we to say that they are not mentally ready to swing?

We find such a view incredibly patronising and condescending and are not surprised that others found this view offensive.

Not all if us oldies have an issue with the young

A few months ago I played with a 23 year old. I dint normally go fit girls that young, she didn't normally go fit 45 year olds. But in the club environent,we both did(it was part of a MMMF). It felt perfectly normal and we all had fun . Age is a number and a prefernce, that is all.

And before people say it,I do mean above the consenting adult age.
