If you have booked a caravan/motor home pitch you realise we are not guaranteed hookups.

So who has or can get hold of some treblers to split electric x 3 for each hookup? -- we will get one today.

Who is taking generators they are willing to share (if peeps take own fuel)- again am trying to hire one today.

I personally feel if we have booked a pitch we should at least have trickle charge to flush loos in our vans etc and use our own wash facilites - which we can't do once leisure battery flat for water pump.

Any suggestions/advice would be good as I know that I am not the only one now concerned as we are getting no answers.

Aldi are selling generators from tomorrow for £59.99 - a possible alternative solution, rather than potentially blowing site electrics with high demand?

Great idea as my second smaller generator Is Fooked so I will be at Aldi 2moro & will bring the larger of the 2

In all honesty I di recall the organisers stating that hook up would be limited

But if anyone wants to charge anything I'm sure we will have spare capacity

Providing we don't get mugged

Lol

Here is to a great weekend

Hi guys

Just to make you aware that some generators run on 2 stroke fuel especially the smaller wattage kind do you will need 2stroke oil to mix in with the petrol ! Might pay to ask the question ?

Not long now ! Hoping it will be ltr tho !

Lol

We are taking a 2 KVA genny and has 2 out puts so in effect could power 6 for trickle charging etc.. but if all the ladies decide to use hair straightners at once we could be in trouble! Mrs would not go without it so she can plug her Hitachi in!!

get with the times guys, we have solarpanels they run electric kettle and hair dryer, and keep 3 tractor batterys charged all day ready for the eve, use all the battery power u need at night as sun cums up at 5am and batterys charged ready again for 7am,

the best bit is they cost same as a good jenny but don't need fuel

I think the organisers have stated that all generators need to be switched off by midnight

sorry but as a builder I have generators for my work so cant see the point in spending out on a solar panel

but each to their own

im sure that everyone will have a Fab weekend

I'll have a Jenny - only a little one bit is enough to power the fridge stereo and charge a leisure battery.

Anyone is welcome to plug in as much as it will take.... Could be our motto! Lol.

Have to be honest and say we go away every weekend in our motorhome and never stay on sites or use electric hook up and have never run our leisure batteries flat! Having said that we do not watch the TV so that might have something to do with it. We do also have a small solar panel that sits in the window butwe are bringing a genny to this mainly for others to share if they need it.

"oh and no friggin noise, nothing worse than listening to a genny, chugging away all nite"

LOL I was thinking as I read through this thread that the easiest way to find out where Swingfields was if you didn't know would be to listen out for the noise of hundreds of generators pumping out fumes into the country air so everyone could log onto FAB...

Looks like everyone whom is going has got lucky already as the weather is forecast to be gorgeous over the whole weekend, rather than as I suspect most people feared a cool, rainy British weekend...

Have fun and I'm hoping the forums will be full of people telling the tales of their adventures at Swingfields

"I thought that's why we paid £15 for the Electric hock up to our motorhome???? or what is the extra £15 for????"

The £15 is the camping charge for the motorhome for the weekend, we have paid it to the owners of the farm

So what do we get for this charge? And also why haven't the people with tents being charged? As far as a good few people with motorhomes thought the £15 was for the electric hock up by which now it isn't!!!!!! Not happy with this extra charge if we are not getting anything in return!

ok guys fear not anyone ok -- we are on Swingfields now -- the site is beautiful - the ground is very hard and quite sloping so if you can get chocks or wooden blocks to even you up you WILL need them ok - the views are stunning, the electric hookups are currently being laid and there will be as far as we have been told over 20 so I am sure we can all charge our batteries even if in relay. There are nice loos and showers on site too. Phones work - so does hotspot via vodaphone lol - watch profile for updates of tipi pics!!
