Morning all.
So, I've just been looking at the event diary for Steamers Quay. It's been a while and we were thinking about attending an event. However, I see it's under new management and what's putting us off is there's no couples only nights!
I know there're other clubs that can accommodate, but we had a great night last time and met some fab couples and what with being close to home it's a perfect venue. No drama - just feel a bit sad about it and needed to make my feelings known.
Any other couples feel the same? Xx |

I visited Steamers for the first time with one of my partners as some friends were hosting a new night. A very nice club and the guys that own it are still making changes. That was a mixed night but with very limited singles males attending all of whom had been vetted beforehand.
There's a big difference between a standard mixed night and ones that are well run with managed guest lists, so maybe worth checking one of those out. Not all clubs limit numbers and it can sometimes be overwhelming, but those that do seem to have the right atmosphere (Swindon Swingers is another one to mention).
In all my clubbing years I've probably seen as much negative behaviour on couples only nights as I have mixed, especially when the female half of a couple is getting far more attention than the male.
In that neck of the woods it's also worth checking out what Within Temptation have on, as they also run themed hosted events where guest lists are required. |

It’s just a shame that there aren’t any mixed days. It feels like we get pushed out. As their site said , it’s gay,gay,gay and one evening for mixed.
Anyway, the best of luck to them in their new venture. Maybe one day they’ll give couples a little more time. |

I agree, I wish there was more clubs open to couples for maybe just one day of the week. I’d love to take my partner there as it’s a great place.
There seems to be lots of gay saunas around but hardly any that cater for naturist couples. I think there’s a gap in the market for somewhere that has a mixed day.

Clubs caterer for the paying guests. If they get a bigger income from a gay event than swinging crowd then its a business decsion.
Hence Steamers running majority of gay events.
There are two mid week options in Naked Occasions near Crediton and Gems near Yeovil.
They can be a bit hit and miss as mid week numbers are limited customers. One club increased couples and guys charges by 25% and seems to have lost numbers, sometimes less is more!

I've seen issues at clubs where they have limited access for unaccompanied guys as male halves of couples were the issue!
WT well with Steamers just 5 minutes away, it may not be open at the required times but its clean, tidy and warm with staff/organisers who can face up to and deal with issues rather than ignoring them! |

I totally agree! It is all about money which as a business makes sense! But, as mentioned, I feel like we're getting pushed aside. Nothing against the gays, each to their own, but it has seemed to have taken over Steamers- which is a shame. |

Naked occasions do not limit single guys buy dont tend to be over run.
There are plenty of theme nights and takeovers at WT and steamers that limit single guys to a small ratio and vet them before hand.
Steamers have a new venture this weekend run by two lovely ladies
Search Devonafterdark then curious curves at steamers and solero at Wt
Secrets allow very few single guys to there events as well. |

Curious Curves only has a max of 10 single guys and we vet them.
The ratio for the event is 80% couples and 10% each for single men and ladies.
Curious Curves and Devon After Dark are currently both the best events to meet couples at Steamers.
