We have been to many clubs and enjoyed all with one or two exceptions. It is always useful for us read the reviews left by others to get some insights before visiting. However, most reviews of clubs are titled “Fabulous” and this description is used by almost all who are leaving a commentary about a club. The title options for a review are “OK” Fun” “Fabulous” or “Avoid”. The OK option is the default one and some people either don’t realise they can change it or don’t bother to select any other. The problem with reviews generally is that over 90% are described as “Fabulous” and indicate that everything was amazing and wonderful. The law of averages would suggest that this cannot logically be the case. Where are all the average reviews? Seeing one with “Avoid” is an absolute rarity! The difficulty with so many “Fabulous” reviews is that they are all the same and give no real practical assessment or insight into the positives AND negatives of a visit. It is almost as if people post “Fabulous” reviews to ensure they are never rejected at entry to a particular club and to ingratiate themselves with the owners. That may well be an unfair statement and of course every club visitor sees a club differently but an overwhelming level of “Fabulous” reviews simply cannot be realistic. How about some real honest and subjective reviews for a change. It would be interesting to hear what others think please.

In fairness, clubs have come a long way in the last 20 years. The venues are a lot nicer, they're better managed/run and have theme evenings. Bad reviews tend to be where people have just had a bad night rather than the club being the issue. I think a lot of people simply don't leave a bad review. |

Didn’t you post this just a couple of days ago in a separate post?
Plenty post fabulous but given there is a reasonable mix of other reviews - I see plenty of fun and ok - I think people have just enjoyed themselves. Clubs tend to get a loyal and repeat following.
Not many clubs tally up Fab names on the door so I can’t see people worrying about being banned for honest reviews. |

Unfortunately if you leave a negative review for a club you're likely to get a nasty message off one of the regulars. If you leave a negative review on TripAdvisor no-one can message you. Our advice would be to word a review carefully, or don't leave a negative review and don't go back. |

That's exactly what we were going to say |
