Some clubs do close in January for refurbishment/well earned breaks for staff etc, but it's not overly common.
I am off to Chams on the 25th, with my partner, and they are definitely not closed then (though not in NW). You seem to be looking just in Blackpool, how about Infusions? |

No problem. And sometimes it's much easier (and quicker) to call the club than wait for their reply to an email. I know a few clubs that are notoriously slow at replying to emails. |

For us we use January as a opportunity to refurbish & repair and repaint areas of our club after a busy 11 months open and always change a play room or something. Previous years we have added things like a completely new pool & hot tub area and another year we put in a completely new air conditioning system on top of repainting and adding new rooms. All massive jobs that cant be done when open.
We class our ourselves more as a party swingers venue for weekend trade becuse around 85% of our customers travel from all over the UK mainly at weekends. Unfortunately people just don't have as much money in January and opening a club of our size costs and we found January was a difficult month for us to break even so we use it to have a break, repair & undate things 
We think the main difference is most other clubs have a heavy populated areas around them like Manchester, Birmingham or Leeds, we do not. Blackpool has some 20 million visitors a year mainly at weekends but only has a estimated population of 142,708 people 😳 (shocking fact) thats the problem in a nut shell and why we aim at the party elements of swingers visiting Blackpool at weekends. If we opened all week & all year we simply wouldn't financially survive as a club with local trade at down times like January.
To answer the question directly, no its not common for clubs to close in January but in ours and the Avant-gardes situation it makes far more sense than opening in January.
As far as we are aware Infusion is open in January as is Paradise we why not try them |

Of course the choice is yours but we have tried infusion a couple of times this year and on both occasions it was very very quiet indeed and for what it cost we didn't think it was worth it. |
