So, just testing the water with venturing out to a club! Do we rock up in our normal civvy clothing and get charged into more ‘appropriate’ clothing indoors? Do they have lockers to place civvy clothing and then change afterwards? Showers?

Most of what you list is available in varying degrees depending on which club you visit. Some PPL are dressed when they arrive, others get changed at the club. |

The answer depends on which club, or what type of club, you're planning to go to.
The spa-based clubs require dress down on arrival, so it doesn't matter what clothes you came in wearing. They provide lockers and towels, and you can either wear a towel or underwear/lingerie (apart from Kestrels near Heathrow that only accept towels most days).
Nightclub style clubs are dress to impress on arrival, and may require dress down if you want to proceed to play areas. Most of those do provide lockers but they may be on first come first served basis. |
