Essex's lack of clubs... discuss

Brentwood

Why is Essex so very poorly served for swingers clubs?

Other than Monkey Business in Wickford (which we've been to and enjoyed) we're not aware of another established venue in the county.

Which is remarkable considering it has a population of about two million.

Is it just NIMBYism, aggressive obstacles put up by local authorities, or something else?

We really like going to the VA when we can but we really do not enjoy the three-hour round trip to the midlands.

So fingers crossed a few more clubs will pop up soon and help us all put the sex back into Essex!

Around the Midlands

Couldn't tell you why but it sounds like a good enough reason to never relocate to Essex

We are spoilt for choice up here in the Midlands.... long may it continue

This is why we helped start the Ipswich and Suffolk Socials. It's not just Essex that has no clubs!

Being on the border we have a catchment across both counties and they have become very popular. We regularly get over 100 at the Ipswich social! The Suffolk Social will have its first event on the 6th July and the numbers are looking very similar.

It just shows how many people there are who enjoy the lifestyle in this part of East Anglia.

We like the sound of those socials (if not the trek up the A12!). Where can we find more info, please? x

Absolutely. Clearly a huge gap in a popular market.

We both grew up in Essex. There’s a reason we now live in the West Midlands!!

There are two profiles for them.

Suffolk Socials is one, the first event is on the 6th July and is full for single men, there are still a few spaces left for couples and ladies.

The other is Ipswich Social which has been running for a while now and is always well supported.

Thank you. We have just added both of those profiles to our Hotlist and will keep an eye out. Happy to buy you a thank-you drink if we ever see you there!

Be lovely if there was a club in Essex and in Cambridgeshire. When work takes me oooop north, I sometimes attend Quest in Hunslet; crackerjack club with great staff, facilities and a splendid ambience.

Natt x

I totally agree. There is a weekender this Friday to Sunday in Essex it’s all on the monkey business website. Chelmsford to be a good place for another club x

Many years ago there was a club in Colchester I think it was called Mingles. Now Essex has Monkey Business in Wickford and if all else fails now we have some good weather there is a nudist beach in St Osyth where I believe there can be adult fun to be had.

The numbers for the social in Ipswich on Saturday night just demonstrate the need for a club in this area. We are about to cross the 100+ point!

We are new to the scene and also find the lack of essex clubs annoying. Ww go to op4f as it's not too bad in an uber but if we go further afield it means a hotel and a drive as we both need a little dutch courage.this lifestyle is expensive! We went to the Monkey Business weekender which was great but still spent nearly £300 with food, drink and accommodation. A local club somewhere like Brentwood or Chelmsford would be epic

Brentwood couple here and yes annoying that we have a lack of clubs being as all quiet country places hidden away, there would be loads of suitable places!!

Eureka is just the other side of Dartford crossing and pretty close only about 20 miles away, never tried monkeys but would like to!

We tend to use jaydees mostly as we have a motor home and can stay over night there! They also do accommodation

I'd like to find a luxury house or apartment to rent for the weekend and host an epic essex party. Sadly I can't find what I'm looking for on air bnb. Any ideas? Boutique hotel takeover maybe?
