"i love to go to clubs and so wish one would open up in my town of oldham"
Well theres a club in Rochdale, one in Chorley, another in Bury and 2 in Manchester.
If clubs were like Tesco stores there would be one in every town and city and they'd be packed out, but there not so there is already probably too many club around Manchester as it is and none of those places listed above is more than about a 25 minute drive from Oldham town centre. |

Yeah, I fully understand what your saying about a club in Oldham fella, it would be good. As for there's one here there and everywhere,i think what the op is saying is that there isn't a club In Oldham Ashton Middleton stockport failsworth droylsden duckinfield hyde etc or this side of manchester so if you don't or can't drive it's very difficult .... As for Rochdale, I suspect you haven't been to this so called club..... Personally I wouldn't step foot in here without having my injections first ..... Not mentioning the name therefore don't make your mind up as to what the club is, and subject me to the barrage of abuse that normally follows someone giving their opinion xxxxx  |

Totally disagree with you. The reason I like Cupids is its far enough away from home for me not to worry about seeing people I know.
Where would we put one in Oldham anyway? It'd need to be somewhere out of town, somewhere with ample parking and somewhere discreet.
Partners and Cupids are within easy travelling distance. |

I know where your coming from missy ruby, but I agree with cupids and partners being close, but there is nowhere this end around Oldham Tameside Cheshire etc. some people don't worry about going local to where the live but, some go miles not to be recognised ..... It's each to there own.
As for places in Oldham there are a load of disused night clubs that could be transformed for this purpose ... In fact most towns have this issue with closed down clubs ..... Anyway keep on being naughty ruby xx |

We could put one in Oldham town centre ..... Shit loads of parking and nobody ever goes there anyway lol, plus we have a new tram to play dogging on!!!!! Or we cold use oldham library, nobody uses it anyway and it's got a big car park next to it lol xx |

Do you really think people would go into the town centre to a club? Really think that's something crazy. And the size of clubs too, the empty premises are massive, too big for a club. |

club in oldham would be good but where? maybe above simply pleasure on park road slightly off piste but with parking ....walk down to Alsxander park for dogging lol and handy to nip downstairs if you forgot/need any toys change of outfit etc

Don't see what all the fuss is about, Manchester and the surrounding areas have many clubs most north manchester area already, and most not a long way from oldham, there are things such as cabs or buses that could get you there in 10-20 minutes or less would think!!
Have to say from experience that the clubs have been to have all been outside the city centres, so low rents and big enough spaces, city centre rates are too high and local councils wouldn't want them next to whsmiths like they dont allow strip bars!! Clubs are best away from the d*unken idiots you would get trying to come in on a saturday night if too easy to get too. |

totally agree. Oldham has had huge problems in the past with drinking and licensing, there's no way Oldham Council would pass a license on a club. |

Three knocking shops in Oldham centre, one strip club .... Maybe not fully central but there are plenty of places you could have one.... So many pubs are empty and not in over populated areas .... Partners is next door to houses, cupids is and so are a lot of other places..... Anyway it's all conjecture but I think you may be suprised with all the empty premises just what they will allow, xx |

All im saying is rochdale ok to get there shit hard to get home i like to chill have a few beers lol deccadence is a new club in rochdale pubs are closing by the min hollinwood chadderton royton loads of outlying areas where there would be lots of spots for a club. And ruby i met a local barmaid at liaisons once she ucked my brains out and id been chatting to her in the pub she knocked me back hail swinging x |

And all I'm saying is there's such thing as a saturated market. There's now 2 clubs in Rochdale, one in Bury and 2 in Manchester. Personally I don't think a club in Oldham is a good thing.
I will stand by my previous comments about licensing, drinking and size of venue.
I think perhaps there's some people who want there to be a club a 5 minute walk away. Perhaps they want a woman to be lying there ready for them legs akimbo. |

Swinging actually used to be on the fringes of the law but the current legislation actually allows it.
Prior to this, the law was a little more vague and describe a brothel as a
"a place resorted to by persons of opposite sexes for the purpose of illicit intercourse".
So technically under the 1956 Sexual offences act it was illegal as illicit would cover extra-marital sex whereas currently the law is that swinging is legal. Councils have the right however to govern what kind of businesses operate within their areas hence the different concentrations of swinging clubs in different areas!

This was my point - after two incidents in 2004/5 Oldham Council became much more stringent with their licensing. I know this because at the time I was working in a deputy management role in a bar in Oldham. Things haven't changed since then in terms of licensing. I can't imagine them giving a license to a swinging venue.
But I do think this thread highlights that some single men expect everything to be given to them on a plate. |

The council let a brothel operate in the town center for ni on 30 yrs, i am saying there would be a niche for a club in the oldham borough, not town center that would be a total waste like zanadoos was in mcr full of d*unks im saying if someone had the urge means to get a closed down pub. I doubt you would apply for a lucence as a swingers club you would prob call it something else and as most do you would start of by letting people bring there own drinks as lots of the clubs do |

ideally I dont want to travel too far to enjoy a club night means a few cheeky beers and no drive ......however we are off to eureka in 2 weeks so do get about ......just no need to shoot the guy down for having an opinion imho |
