I went there yesterday for the first time. Honestly, I don't think I'll go back. Everything seemed very tired & a bit of a clique for regulars. I did chat to 3 or 4 gents who were all nice blokes and the staff are all friendly. It just felt grubby  |

So I went, was on the whole nice; owner was super friendly, the staff too (although I did hear gossip about one, I didn't meet him). Easy to get to, I think it'll be easy to get to without a car which is my normal state. Liked the facilities.
Down points:
1. Some dude in the steam room tugging his flaccid dork with melancholy... even if I was into unsolicited masturbating (which I'm not) this was just a sad and depressing sight. Have more self esteem fella, or maybe stop playing with yourself in front of people.
2. Unfuckable old guys being gross about a couple (I've seen their fab profile from this the previous chat thread) who are strangers to them, and then banging on about it with a frankly disgusting air of self entitlement. Super gross. The wanking guy in the steam room was just sad but this was super gross.
3. Politics... I work in politics, I get paid not very much and have to spend 40+ hours a week enduring it. Trying to relax in a hot tub while people start outlining their particular issues with migrant refugees is a total mood killer. I go to places like this to escape those political viewpoints.
Beyond this... I go again. In likelihood after work. I enjoyed it on the whole. I acknowledge that I'm not that different from the unfuckable old guys. But at least I have the self awareness to try to avoid making people feel uncomfortable. |

We all have a gut to suck in or other hang ups that bother us, but nobody else. That's the nice thing about this place, it's chilled out and friendly even if the decor is dated. I was nervous when I first went, being an older woman with wobbly and saggy bits I was very self conscious, but now I know how relaxed it is, I'm quite happy wandering around utterly naked and don't feel out of place or judged just because I'm not perfect. |

We were paying £38 per session per couple, on Wednesday it cost £45
Think it’s £29 for a single bloke.
It’s a bit steep for us, so from now on we’ll only go on Mondays and Thursdays when women are free.
Shame as we used to enjoy a Sunday there, but we’ve just been priced out.
They are slowly but surely doing work and improving the place , but it’s hardly exotic!
Fully understand that costs rise, but for the facilities they offer, it’s very expensive. |

Although its much more expencive we visit on days when the women are not free so you avoid the singles who dont know how to behave in a nudist enviroment  |

We went on Monday afternoon, first time for months. We chatted to some great people in the steam room. However we left after only a couple of hours as the awful music was far too loud, not very relaxing at all!! |

Had a lovely afternoon at Sliverleighs today, Mandy was the only woman but we still had fun. We ended up spending over £50 although it was nice it was a very expencive couple of hours. We think the cost is whats putting other couples off visiting we wont be back for a while |

Silverleighs reminds me of a 70s style holiday camp, especially the swimming pool area but it's part of the charm I think.
I've only been a few times, once with my husband on a Wednesday and wasn't very busy and the others on a Monday with some girlfriends, had a lovely time each time. |

Just go with the flow and enjoy the place. It's what I'd call old school. The people there are friendly and easy to talk with. Don't go with expectations to play. Pick a sunny day and enjoy the garden |

No need to wear any clothing at a naturist spa, applicable to all attendees.
If you want to keep your swimwear on, go visit a normal spa, club whatever you fancy. Just leave the few naturist places to people who enjoy being with other naturists |

I don’t care either way tbh, but take rios for example, if one does everyone does , and then you’ve not got a naturist spa , it’s exactly the same in spas abroad who are far more strict and the silverleigh is far more like a German naturist spa environment |

No im not but when someone mentions they're wearing a bikini for example someone here is ready to attack them for it. Now if that person was fully clothed like they going to a club then yes I would question why they there but if someone is wearing a bikini quite frankly nobody should care less about it |

Clearly this is a problem created by a venue having an identity crisis.
Is it a naturist venue only or somewhwere to have sexual encounters? Swingers are often naturists but not necessarily.
Silverleigh can maintain its naturist identity only by insisting on nudity in the spa area. If they relax that rule, they should not be taken seriously as anything but a sex venue masquerading as a naturist one.
It doesn't mean that naturists are asexual.
Horny naturists are catered for at Silverleigh.
Is the place really for people with no intention or desire to be naked there?

It's a shame not one person actually answered your important question correctly!
Unfortunately asking on a forum opens it up ridiculous passive aggressive comments (many on here with an axe to grind), hearsay, antidotal evidence, nonsensical analogies etc etc. (there is a reason why some are single, just saying).
Anyway we were there Saturday (day and evening) and everyone was naked though quite a few guys wore towels and we often wore our sarongs when sitting in the lounge and eating. In the evening the smoking group were outside wearing robes or wrapped in towels but still in essence naked.
As regards others comments, it is most definitely a naturist club and I don't think there is any identity crisis, yes they have private 'rest' rooms and yes they sell condoms but even at a naturist club what you do behind closed doors is none of anyone else's business. It's just rather an adult naturist club not a family one. Yes some guys go there to try pick up but we chatted to several with no hint of them 'pouncing' lol! Some even said they much prefer it to Rios as it's way more relaxed and people are more chilled and friendly.
Oh and the correct answer to the question about bikini bottoms: ask the owners/staff direct. Same if you ever have a problem at a club, speak to the staff first!
And yes we did ask, and had a most definite answer - you have to be completely naked (no bikini bottoms) in all areas except your room and lounge but a sarong or towel are perfectly acceptable. There are even signs in the pool area saying no bikinis!
I would suggest if you want to go to a proper naturist club, contact the Naturist Foundation (family club) on their policy
There is the VA's Lux lounge open only on certain sunny days (you have to check on the day). They have an lovely outside area (inside is closed) with a bar and hot-tub and allow anything clothing wise and you can be naughty if you like.
There is DV-8 though that only has a small grassy area and the bar for drinks (no inside facilities except loos).
Not sure sure what else there is, though it would be great for others to give some constructive suggestions rather than mock and argue please!

There is a very good Indian within walking distance. May not look much from the outside but the food is excellent. There is a pub as well, but not eaten there so cannot comment. Finally there is the hotel at brands hatch, should the lure of a club sandwich strike. |

Just spent Saturday day & night at Silverleigh although it wasn’t busy ( the Friday night was packed) it made for a very relaxed and chilled time… always my favourite place x |

It's a shame not one person actually answered your important question correctly!
Unfortunately asking on a forum opens it up ridiculous passive aggressive comments (many on here with an axe to grind), hearsay, antidotal evidence, nonsensical analogies etc etc. (there is a reason why some are single, just saying).
Anyway we were there Saturday (day and evening) and everyone was naked though quite a few guys wore towels and we often wore our sarongs when sitting in the lounge and eating. In the evening the smoking group were outside wearing robes or wrapped in towels but still in essence naked.
As regards others comments, it is most definitely a naturist club and I don't think there is any identity crisis, yes they have private 'rest' rooms and yes they sell condoms but even at a naturist club what you do behind closed doors is none of anyone else's business. It's just rather an adult naturist club not a family one. Yes some guys go there to try pick up but we chatted to several with no hint of them 'pouncing' lol! Some even said they much prefer it to Rios as it's way more relaxed and people are more chilled and friendly.
Oh and the correct answer to the question about bikini bottoms: ask the owners/staff direct. Same if you ever have a problem at a club, speak to the staff first!
And yes we did ask, and had a most definite answer - you have to be completely naked (no bikini bottoms) in all areas except your room and lounge but a sarong or towel are perfectly acceptable. There are even signs in the pool area saying no bikinis!
I would suggest if you want to go to a proper naturist club, contact the Naturist Foundation (family club) on their policy
There is the VA's Lux lounge open only on certain sunny days (you have to check on the day). They have an lovely outside area (inside is closed) with a bar and hot-tub and allow anything clothing wise and you can be naughty if you like.
There is DV-8 though that only has a small grassy area and the bar for drinks (no inside facilities except loos).
Not sure sure what else there is, though it would be great for others to give some constructive suggestions rather than mock and argue please!

The policy there is to dress or undress to your comfort level. No one really cares, it's a nice safe space.
I would say silverleigh and Eureka are swingers clubs shrouded with a Naturist license. |

We stayed over on Saturday and it was just us. Literally had the whole place to ourselves. Would have been nice to have a couple or two for company. Hubby was pretty disappointed. Won't be going back. |

That's a shame. We have stayed before on a Friday night when they had the couples nights (now defunct). It was ok as there were a few of us. Maybe the way forward is to try and get a few couples to agree to stay over at the same time. |

We have been to abfabs & really enjoyed it BUT our membership has expired & for us to visit for a couple of hours will cost £100 (membership plus entry) its just to much money. Its strange with Abfabs they make it so expencive for couples |

Going tomorrow (with a room booked). Taking my new OH as think (hope) it’ll be a ‘gentle’ introduction to our magical world of carnal, hedonistic joy. Reports are that it’s pretty quiet on Saturdays but I’ve never been to Silverleigh, so it’ll interesting to see what it’s like. |

As I mentioned in a previous post, I’ve never been to Silverleigh. However, having researched the place, it certainly sounds like John was quite a character and a stand-up guy. I’m sorry I’ll never get to meet him and my sincere condolences to all his family, friends and all those whose days were brightened by him. Hoping to bump into some regulars during tomorrow’s visit to listen to their memories and stories. |

It's unlikely. I was told his license to run a naturist club would end with his passing. Lots of rumours going around about it being converted to a nursing home or sold to developers. Guess we will have to wait and see

The amount of tut tutting and righteous indignation which goes on locally has to be heard to be believed.
In reality Silverleigh brings immeasurable happiness to a considerable number of visitors including many who stay over without doing any serious harn to high principles of the locality.
However, I am sure the council will find every good reason for it not to carry on icluding, probably, some questioanably legal promise made to the locals that the license would depart with John. |

We live fairly local to Silverleigh.
If we don’t go there then in the summer we go to Eureka and in the winter we go to BGHS. |
