Fake account but photo and people verified?

Hoping we can get some insight from people who have been on here a while….

We get a pretty strong feeling that we’ve spoken to an account who isn’t who they say they are. The only thing is they are photo verified as well as people verified (1 person by webcam).

We started chatting and all seemed ok, also accepted her friend request and there were a few more pics on there. We also took it to the WhatsApp stage but their responses seemed a little odd. So then we looked at her pics a little closer and saw a few things that didn’t add up. Backgrounds looked foreign, as well as switches and plugs. Of course these could have been taken whilst on holiday but when other things didn’t add up it made us more suspicious. She also said she was from Solihull.

We also asked her to prove she’s genuine by taking a pic of herself, that was just left on read.

Our main question is, how do they get around the photo and people verified? We’re pretty careful who we speak to, it’s just this one slipped through the net. I guess we’re looking for reassurance we’re not the first, we’re relatively new so it’s a little nerve wracking! But also very intrigued how they got over the photo verified thing!

There is that chance she’s genuine but she’s not the first person who is people and photo verified that we get that fake vibe from.

TIA x

That's why I have little faith in anything cyber

Call me old school but back when I went to barn dances and discos, you know in a second who someone was

It’s actually doesn’t matter if she is genuine or not. Your instinct says run. Listen to it.

We’ve definitely listened to our gut. Blocked on WhatsApp and Fab.

Was just intrigued as to how they would have got photo and people verified

Easy photoshop for photo and mutual webcam veri between other fake people.

We’ve seen a few profiles with ‘borrowed’ profile pics. A quick google reverse image search.

A guy yesterday messaged, one photo, incredible lighting, massive dong, too good to be true. Image search and unless he was a famous porn star with a picture taken before and after a tattoo in an identical pose, he was a fake.

Yeah the accounts that are only cam verified are a bit suspicious, especially when they don’t even show the verification.

That’s very true, didn’t think about someone using photoshop to get photo verified. We did a reverse image search but nothing came up. Possibly they were taken from another account on here.

At least it makes us even more aware for the future.

Photo verified is not infallible - it’s a human vetting process - and veris from a cam are not really worth the paper they aren’t written on.
