Our review of club Bacchus in Dundee

Club bacchus was previously known as kudos and we weren't too impressed with the place then.
Different owner now and upgraded facilities we thought we give the mixed day a chance.
Mostly what attracted us to the club was the fact it's got a sauna, and you can be nude in it! Find that anywhere else in Scotland unless you have your own. (Working on it)
Used as a gay sauna at other times,the aim is to attract more couples on the mixed events.(Tue and Fri 10am to 6pm)
As a woman and a couple that's been to clubs all over Europe, I think I can give an honest opinion of the club.
We were welcomed by lovely staff and they did a great job showing us round and explaining the place.
Upstairs there's a large sitting area with sofas. Porn was playing loudly, which is a bit off-putting for us,and would have preferred music in a non play area. The room is bare and could do with a more homely feeling.But tidy and clean. Going downstairs there's a bathroom with two showers. Very clean but basic. Also only having one toilet could be an issue if the place would be packed.
Two clean playrooms that can be locked, very basic and personally would rather see more than just a latex bed. But I've tried it out and it's definitely comfortable.
There's a lovely kinky room with a cross and spanking materials , great bench to bend over and they have a swing.(didn't get a chance to try it yet)
There's a large open room with a circular bed. The lighting is bright and hooks on the wall , if you fancy bringing some ropes.
Felt a bit chilly in there and I'm missing some pillows and warmer lighting. But the place has loads of potential and can see it would be great fun being surrounded on the bed. ( have used the bed previously when it was still kudos, but that's another story)
The sauna itself is very small but cosy. Fitting 8 people in would be a squeeze. Temperature is nice, not roasting hot so you can easily sit in there for half an hour.
The steam room has not been in working order for a while now we've heard. It's really missing another room like a steam room or hot tub to socialise in we think.
Drinking water you had to buy and tea if you want to. Best come prepared and bring some snacks and drinks with you.
You get one towel in your locker, but you can get another one if you ask. If you're like me and very much disk-like the feeling of vinyl beds during sex, bring some extra towels to sit on.
Every room has a good condom supply and cleaning materials to wipe down after usage.
The place was well looked after and very clean when we visited.
They showed us the "medical" room that's in the making, with a massage table. Something we would like to try out when it's finished.
What about the people in there?
I guess as we advertised we were going we had some nice people turning up who contacted us prior our visit to the club.
A lovely couple we met and had fun with in the playroom.
A few guys we spoke to previously and met a few new people who were all very respectful and just nice to socialise with.
It's a lovely place to enjoy a sauna and get to chance to meet other people who enjoy the lifestyle.
We would be happy returning and hope more couples will join us.
As a single guy we suggest you expect what you would expect from any club. Mostly guys, some nice banter and maybe some play if you're lucky.
The website we heard is under construction and best to message them by nr.
It's around £15 each to get in, no different price for male or female

A very comprehensive and unbiased review. I have previously been to Kudos and Bacchus, but not during the mixed sessions. I am glad to see these nice unbiased reviews, it's a great place that is underused.
As more people use it then I assume the better the club will get with more facilities.
I will definitely be going there on Tuesday and hope to see some of you there.

Today was a great day at the mixed sauna event with many women there.
It was great to see new faces there with a lot of cumming and going during the afternoon.
Oops sorry typo should be coming silly me.
Mixed sauna maybe just on Tuesdays only but check website or on this thread for further news.
If your a woman and haven't been there on a Tuesday come along , even take a friend or your husband. |

Yes, although that was only updated this morning. Yesterday it still showed a mixed event for tomorrow.
It's a pity, as we did have quite a few guys already say they would meet us there again when we posted a meet there for tomorrow.

Unfortunately it's only been shut down for a mix as people are not turning up for them on a Friday.by all means if we can get garenteed people attending it will get reopened but atm it's not worth the club going to the expense of switching it on for 2 or 3 men to show up could maybe think about a ticket system for a Friday i will put to manager and see what he says xx |

I agree with the comments previously if you start things up you need a few months to see if it's working. Give the Fri a chance

Not cancelling just shifting the days as people say Fridays are best but been running for 4weeks now and Fridays are just not bust the Tuesday is building up now I have been on holiday for a week but back now so any questions will be answered sharp x |

Yeah swingers nights still happen and yeah we are now getting a fair mix of people in now I'm getting the word out for events and saunas so definitely worth popping in for our next one new website up and running so all information will be on that xx |

What I mean is events are posted a couple of days in advance. Hardly any notice at all. Website is never up to date as events announced or pulled last minute.
Most recent example is the Friday events. Seemed like owner gave it about 2 weeks then pulled the plug as not many were attending. No reflection on you OP. I'm sure it's very frustrating to keep a positive momentum when the goalposts keep changing for you behind the scenes. As I said I wish you luck on future ventures. |

I have just started 4 weeks ago with bringing fresh ideas and trying new stuff out for events/days and I'm doing my very best as far as getting things out there in advance I have been on holiday for a week and just got home 3 hours ago and back on to have a look and started working and answering anything iv missed mr has done his best to keep everyone in the loop but iv had a successful lingerie night few weeks ago as my starting point the Tuesday mixed saunas is picking up on women and couple side to things and the new website is up and running smoothly for a month and everything for the month including my Halloween this Saturday has all been there am really sorry if you feel the club owner is doing anything to sabotaged any events/days but I can promise he doesn't really take much to do with the club the management myself and few other volunteers run the club the owner just has the final say on things we would love you to pop in any time to see the changes that's been made so far and there is always a few notices around the club with dates and times of things that are on for the month so we really have been trying our best I hope this reply has helped in some way x |

Some changes have been made over the last few week to soften the rooms up with flowers and the likes verification and currently building on the club bacchus page on here we r working our socks off to make it better each week but we do need people in on regular basis can't build a business with no guests can't improve the club as quick as we would like once the bills are paid doesn't leave much room to finance steam room fixing or running costs or doing all the other stuff we would love to do BUT slowly getting there and we do appreciate all feedback and suggestions and of course all the support xx |

Some changes have been made over the last few week to soften the rooms up with flowers and the likes verification and currently building on the club bacchus page on here we r working our socks off to make it better each week but we do need people in on regular basis can't build a business with no guests can't improve the club as quick as we would like once the bills are paid doesn't leave much room to finance steam room fixing or running costs or doing all the other stuff we would love to do BUT slowly getting there and we do appreciate all feedback and suggestions and of course all the support xx"

Has things changed recently seeing negative comments on Fabguys site.
I hope this is not the case.
Last time I was there things were quite good and happy both a gay/bi days and mixed sauna days.
Could this be guys objecting to mixed sauna days which were only on two days.
Any truth of people being unhappy about what's now happening?
Has the place still got days for gay and biguys or has it been changed to mixed only ?
These are the comments I am reading on Fabguys.
Hoping to go down after NewYear depending on if I get a job.

I'm so looking forward to Sun 7th Jan. I'm visiting with a biF and a bi M friend. Hoping to bring a few bi couples too from north and south. Maybe a bit of a party. Whatever happens the 3 of us will enjoy meeting other bi naked folk there. I am sure we will be welcomed. |

We've not been since it changed hands. Would be very handy when ( I)Angel am up in Angus for work but the more I read the more I'm put off.
Didn't think much of the club before and even less now.

What a lovely place Heather and Ian are creating. They felt like welcoming landlords to a rather unusual premises with a lot of snugs. The sauna was wonderfully steaming hot and the company inside was interesting and interested. A nice mix of couples and singles M and F. My friends and I played a bit and didn't feel surrounded at all. I witnessed a sensuous 5some which looked mighty fun. And the three of us will definitely be back together and bringing others we know who are sensuous consensual interesting play fellows. My thanks to my two confederates for making a very jolly naturist day in Dundee.

There were some first-timers there on Sunday 7.1.24, and a great atmosphere, with no ‘issues’, so hope more people will attend regularly. Never seen anyone pressuring someone to do anything they’re not comfortable with, so nothing to worry about! Going naked NOT compulsory. Most people wear a towel or swimwear. |

Up until my last visit just prior to Christmas, as a single female I was a staunch supporters of the club and in particular the mixed sauna on Sundays where I attended on a regular basis. I have had many a good afternoon spent there both just socialising and playing, the clientele at the sauna have always been respectful even when it's been a polite 'no' to anything other than chat and this is to be commended. Unfortunately, due to another incident which took place on that day that left me feeling less than welcome I took the difficult decision not to attend for the foreseeable future which is a huge shame as it really is a great place to spend a Sunday afternoon |

Good to see club Bacchus now included under club listings. Now under new ownership and management with improvements. A nice atmosphere and a good place to mix and mingle with like minded. |

Went to mixed sauna on Sunday, had a brilliant afternoon, Heather was awesome host, and so pretty aswell, nothing negative to say at all. Hopefully be back soon x |

On the Tuesdays, I've met a couple on one occasion and 2 ladies or so on another. But also been when it's been only guys. I'd like to go tomorrow but like yourself - and everyone else I suppose, it'd be good to know if more ladies/couples were interested and attending. Simply more fun. |

Haven't had the opportunity to visit the nordic states but have heard naked saunas aren't seen as such a big deal as here in the UK. I'm sure you'll both enjoy it though, not only for the sauna but also since you're bi. |
