Jeez, so we are planning on Abfabs next Saturday, with maybe a quick chill Sunday at Kestrels, but even without Kestrels, just realised it is now going to cost an extra £25 per visit, as the ULEZ charge runs midnight to midnight… looked at going by train but for the two of us that would be £127 plus taxis.

2013, but what’s that got to do with the price of bread lol. We’ve had all the flash cars in the past, now rather than do that, we have four holidays a year, but all this has got nothing to do with the fact that suddenly the cost of a night out on the very fringes of London is £25 more expensive, at a time of high inflation blah blah blah.

I think there were saying your car but be non ULEZ compliant and that is usually due to the type or age of car.

I take it you have entered your car reg number in the TFL or DVLA website and your car is non compliant.Just that I thought my old 18 year Corsa wouldn’t be compliant when ULEZ first started but it was.

to be compliant with ULEZ your diesel car has too have a euro 6 engine fitted which is approx 2015 onnwards but a petrol car can go as far back as 2006.in reality though we know its not about clean air its just yet another tax grab that will make the poorest ppl even poorer and will most likely kill a lot of businesses in the congestion zone not that will bother khan.if it was about clean air why are classic vehicles allowed in the zone for free

People should ask themselves why does ULEZ have to be £12.50? why not for example could it not be set at £5? Seriously folks for the sake of common sense don't vote for Sadiq Khan next year. I'm tired of the road closers with the LTNs, sick of crime getting worse in London, tired of travel fare and council tax going up and not getting value for it and just tired of him passing blame when don't go right

They will, as will OP4F I believe.

It really sucks for these clubs as it will majorly impact their business and there is nothing they can do about it.

. It will be interesting to see if people who like to travel to a club as opposed to going to a more local one in case someone sees or recognise them start going to more local clubs.

The most fu**ed (that’s meant to say fucked) up part is that kestrel is going to be affected by cars that emits on average 4.7 metric tonnes of CO2 each year….right next to an airport that emits each year 20 million tonnes. I guess our next flight from there has gone up by twelve pound fifty then. More if your Airbus has been parked gig free for a day or two…Absurd.

"Also, isn’t it only about 9% of cars that will have to pay the ULEZ charge?"

Only 9%?

Well that's ok then.

I drive a 2011 van for work as a self employed tradesman. Only 100k on the clock. All paid off and runs fine. I rang up about the scrappage scheme. Was told I need to apply then they would tell me where I could get it scrapped. I would then have to wait 30 days for the money. I asked how am I supposed to get to work between the time of getting it scrapped and the money to replace it and was advised I need to find alternative means of travel. Cheers for that.

Perfectly put! Utter madness, my transport driver has had to buy newer trucks otherwise it will cost him £300 per day that would mean the cost of delivery esculates from £150 to 450, that's not realistic, for now he's going drop my cars 2 miles away and we will have to go collect, which isn't the end of the world, to keep costs down, however 5 people out of the showroom at once isn't conducive to business, tax, more tax, I feel sorry for the really less well off who were encouraged to buy diesel, better fuel economy, less road tax now their being punished, madness

That's the 9% of people who can't afford to upgrade their car, isn't it 9% of the population live on the bread line, yet again taking away their independence or pushed out of London, state dependant, do as your told or get sanctioned

Exactly this, we are lucky and have actually gone out and got a new car this weekend, but not everyone can, and it does feel in this country the rich get richer and the poor get poorer x

If the government hadn’t insisted on expansion of the ULEZ in exchange for money for TFL then it wouldn’t be happening.

"Also, isn’t it only about 9% of cars that will have to pay the ULEZ charge?"

That number is likely correct for those based in London as many have already got rid however the numbers are likely far higher for those based outside of London as there are 5 million cars of both fuel types aged 20 to 40 years plus a few million diesels aged 8 to 19 years most of which will not meet the ULEZ standards.

Ulez situation is bloody ridiculous, my Subaru WRX STi which does about 20 mpg and I have to pay £675 per year rfl due to its carbon foot print thing is exempt from Ulez. My Kia Sportage diesel which at the last MOT they struggled to get an emissions reading on it was so low I do have to pay for. Worlds gone crazy.

My car is from 2004. I had to drive into London, and so went to register on the ULEZ site, and found my car is exempt from charges. Definitely worth checking rather than assuming the worst.

I think we should organise a bang bus ... I mean swingers bus. A minibus that picks everyone up from a set location (s) and takes them on either some kind of pub crawl then the club or straight to the club.

You sure you have to pay the ULEZ charge. Mine is 2014. It is exempt from the ULEZ charge.

If you engine is Euro 5 compliant you shouldn’t have to pay the charge.

I live in the local area so my suggestion is to look at the 81 bus route and stay in Colnbrook. You will get free parking in the area during the night. The bus journey is about 3 stops and drops you literally outside the club/McDonald's. And I believe it is a 24 hour bus.

And finally of you wanted to crash over then Colnbrook had the Arora hotel (Old, Bath Rd, Colnbrook, SL3 0PH)
