Hello Fabbers!
Could I please ask you lovely lot for some honest reviews of Chams, Darleston?
Went to our first ever club night in Newport this weekend. And while we definitely enjoyed ourselves, the venue was a little…tired.
Is Darlaston about the same? Or should we expect something different?
Any suggestions of clubs that may be a bit fresher?
Thank you all so much in advance. Generally found us Fabbers to be a very friendly and helpful lot |

I’ve been to both venues, Darlaston first where I found about the Newport venue. Both are very similar in terms of layout (lots of stairs! Haha)
It’s a great venue, two hot tubs, plenty of seating areas around, a chill out room, sauna and steam room too! I’ve only ever been to the bbw events there though which usually always pull in a solid crowd in terms of numbers |

We went once on our way back from down south
Paid our membership , then paid for the night
We were asked if we had been to a club before ?
We said yes , we've been to plenty
At that point we were left to ourselves
Not a problem as such , but a bit of a chat and a tour round might have been nice
Then guess what , we met a single guy who said he had had a tough week at work
And couldn't get it up
Apparently it can happen ?
So not the best of nights for us |

Thank you for taking the time to reply.
Lots of stairs is accurate. Maybe I won’t wear heels next time
Would you say they’re about the same in terms of age and wear? |

Oh gosh Hopefully we won’t run into the same guy!
You’d recommend it then? Do you have a favourite club as you’ve been to a few?
And thank you for the reply too. |

We’ve not been to Newport so can’t compare but can honestly say we love Chams Darlaston. We’ve been 4 tlmes in the last 9 months or so and had a fantastic time. Yes the decor is a bit strange in places, and maybe tired but the atmosphere in the club makes up for it. We were shown around on our first visit, and made to feel welcome- it’s everything a swingers club should be in our opinion.
It’s worth the drive from the South for a visit! |

Stairs at Darleston are an issue, not the best. Some Single men have to be told time and time again, we had 3 issues over a weekend. Shame the club don't have staff walking the floors to keep this at bay. We had seen the reviews over the years about the disrespectful single guys which had stopped us going. We decided to go as friends had asked us to go with them, turned out the the club reviews were correct. Club is spotlessly clean staff are friendly enough. We had good chats with plenty of people so no way is this club cliquey like some.
As you asked about other clubs, our favourite is Attic Derby. They are just about to change venues. The new Attic is only 5 mins away and under construction. It will be up and running by end October and the transition from old to new should be seamless with no gap between old closing and new opening. |

The first club that we visited was Chameleons (Darlaston) - I have to say that we absolutely loved it then and still do now to this day.
We did try the Newport club, thank god we had already tried Darlaston If Newport had been our first experience of an adult club, we would have given up right there!
Been back to the Newport one a few times in the hope that it might have improved - sadly it never has!
After Newport, you will find Darlaston absolutely amazing. |

I’ve been a few times to darlaston this year. Never been to Newport.
Staff are friendly and the stairs can be an issue.
Generally a good venue, lots of play areas, clean and good staff.
Friday nights are busy as single guys like me are allowed, although there can be a train of guys following ladies and couples around. I much prefer to chat and get involved as I feel I have more chance of further play that way. |

For those mentioning single guys being inappropriate - report them to staff. I haven't personally had the need to, but I've seen people be kicked out for bad behaviour. The staff can't act on it if they don't know about it |

We’ve not been to Chams in Newport but have to the one near brum, so we can’t give you a comparison.
The one near Brum is one of the best clubs we’ve been to in my opinion, a really great layout ant vibe. |

To be fair that’s every club we’ve been to with the single guys. As others have said, mention it to staff! |

No worries at all
Ummm…. Tbh I can’t really say I’ve noticed any differences or similarities in that sense |

Unfortunately, I have not managed to go to Chams after Covid, but did go a few times before, and I loved it. Plenty of areas to be naughty in, and plenty of areas to chill. Sun deck is amazing in hot weather, and knowing that you are just on the other side of Asda makes it even more exciting lol.
Yes, loads of stairs, but it's definitely worth it.
The vibe is different during the day and different on evening events. |

We've been to quite a few clubs around the country and chams Darlaston is our favourite! We haven't had any issues there touch wood and we've been there from 1pm to close each time. Haven't been to the Newport 1 but have been told by friends that it's nowhere near the same level. |

We have also been to a few clubs and prefer Chams to all others. We haven't been to the one in Newport so can't really compare. We generally only attend couples/single female events and always find the nights to be very busy with a great vibe |

Been as a single guy and in a couple...yes there are followers and of course "the wanking dead", but a firm no to any interference that is unwanted seems to work and then if not report it.
For those that don't want single male attention there is Saturday evening, for those that do go Fridays. |

We have visited Chams since early part of the year. Whilst the stairs can be a challenge even for our age, it all adds to the mystique!!
The staff really are wonderful, from the handsome young man Steve to the Carl the pole dancer and the really nice lady who brings breakfast. Mark, Zoe, Dawn, Hayley and Lisa all lovely. Be nice to them, maybe put your empties away?
If you have any questions or concerns they listen. Always chatty at the bar.
We have only ever had one bad night. We gave feedback and it was acted upon. Other times we have dropped an email and responses have been swift.
We can’t recommend this place enough.
Thanks Team Chams |

Chams was our first proper club and we love it.
It seems they've been doing the place up recently after some of it started looking a bit tired. Lights in the changing room and lockers have been repaired, they've painted, especially noticeable on the outside terrace (which looks amazing).
But even before that, it's the people and the vibe that make the club. We've never not had a good night there and would highly recommend it.
As said, stairs could be a problem for some. That's about the only critical point I've got but then that's to be expected in an old building |

We've been to a few clubs including Chams in Darleston, albeit just the once.
We had no problem with how the venue looked and everything was clean when we got there.
Obviously throughout any day there will be a build up of bits and pieces of detritus so that didn't bother us, even though there was very little. So they obviously pay attention to that.
Things get spilt and it's actually up to the clientele to mention these things to staff so they can be dealt with appropriately.
We found it had a mixture of different types of decor so one area had a more "country pub" feeling and another very contemporary.
We think they've done a brilliant job getting spaces everyone can relate to and relax in.
Understand the comments about the stairs and it can be a bit of a restriction if you can't cope with stairs very well.
We'll definitely be going back, it's just that life is getting in the way for us. |

Many of the guys at Chams are regulars ,sociable and I've rarely seen or heard of pushy disrespectful guys, you will get more complaints from single woman about over pushy couples ...
And to compare it to the attic which can be great fun , but let's anybody in and has lots of wondering over enthusiastic scruffy guys
Is like chalk and cheese |

Wow and we met you at Attic and didn't find you disrespectful at all, disrespectful towards Attic though. We didn't compare Chams with Attic, no two clubs are the same. OP asked a question, honest review of Chams and which other clubs people liked, maybe you didn't read original post. |

The whole reason people don't give honest reviews, if they find something not quite right is the example of this thread. If anyone dare to say something you will find all the regulars ganging up to discredit. There's a club near us if anyone left bad reviews not only the regulars would send abuse but even the owners. I didn't even slate said club just some of the disrespectful men we encounted. |

Not sure that’s the case. We hated the BBW event, gave our feedback and won’t attend another.
We have only ever had one issue and it was dealt with, swiftly.
Each to their own. We started our journey at Xtasia and have migrated away from it, venue is great, staff great we just like what we like |

We’ve been to both and really enjoy both ..It’s not really fair to compare them as the Newport one is only open to couples on a Friday and Saturday and then only one of them days it’s actually chams rest of the time it’s a gay sauna..
It’s a lot bigger and has more choice of rooms etc stairs are a issue if you struggle with them but you should definitely give it a try we love it there.. |

For us Chams Darlaston is unique, only club we know that you can have pub grub (even Sunday roast dinner) chill all day and party till early hours. It's no SM after 7.30pm on a Saturday as it changes to couples only which is our preference. It's a members club so everyone has to show ID etc to join which we feel makes safer environment. It offers something for everyone and despite us enjoying other clubs it's still our go to. Some clubs have unlimited SM which is great for plenty just choose night for you |

To be honest I prefer Newport, I find it far friendlier and less "predatory". I felt very much like meat on a butchers hook when I went to Darleston. Just my personal feeling so please no need to have a go at me for it.
Darleston has all the aesthetics, plenty of bar space and the veranda is fantastic. The quantity of private play rooms was appalling for such a big venue. Staff were pleasant at the bar. Dungeon equipment was damaged when I went there.
Newport is a little tired looking with a small smoking area. The staff are fantastic, private play rooms are very plentiful and the dungeon equipment all works.
Go to both venues and find out what you prefer. |

Our experiences at Chams has been so good we seldom visit any of our previous clubs.
A good night is guaranteed whether you go on to play or not. There is such a friendly and welcoming vibe from the moment you arrive.
If we lived nearby I’m sure we’d take up permanent residence. We like the fact they offer good quality meals which saves us from cooking. We love to dress down and make use of the hot tub. The club is vast and well attended. Other clubs that we like can be hit and miss with regards to the vibe on the night whereas Chams never fails so we’d rather travel further afield from Derby than visit a club a little closer to home.
On our first visit we were last to leave, that’s testimony for you as we’re not the average night owl lol. Some of the decor isn’t to our taste but the vibe more than makes up for it.

We have been going to Chameleons in Darlston for nearly 18 years our first club and we love it.They have added lots of new rooms and a disco area & new bedrooms to stay over. This club will always be our favourite.
We do go to The Attic too & we like it a lot different vibe but we have always enjoyed our time there and not found guys pushy. |

Both of us have been to lots of clubs both together and as singles/with other partners before we met. We can honestly say Chams is our favourite. Always really nice people (guests and staff), relaxed atmosphere, great facilities and in our experience no “peacocks” or people being judgemental of our preferred play which we have experienced at other venues. We would always happily recommend it. |
