OK, another long shot but I'm going to take it....those of ethnic minorities in the scene will know what I'm talking about here. It's either exclusion or fetishization on a regular. Are there any people of colour that have clubs that they visit that are safe and comfortable? (yes I'm fishing for recommendations)- even better if it's a safe space for women of colour and has a pragmatic, practical, consistent approach to women's safety (I already know about Cocoa Muscovado).
Or any other spaces for women of colour? TIA |

"Have you tried chams in darlaston?
There are quite a few of us single woman that go and one or two are women of colour.
It’s a really safe club.
"
I haven't! I'll have to check it out if I'm on a staycation nearby as I'm in London x |

We go to the Attic in Derby. There's CCTV in all the communal hallways, bar and dance floor (obviously not in playrooms). Security mingle through the club quite unnoticed all with ear pieces. Single Women we speak to say how safe they feel and get looked after there. |

I've been to Cupids in Manchester at various times with two black women (one of them a number of times) and two - possibly three -Asian women. None of them referred to any form of "fetishisation", and all of them really enjoyed their experience. Can't say any more! |
