How much do you spend on a club night?

Jump to: Newest in thread

Chesterfield

I'm just wondering how much my club visits used to cost compared to everyone else's.

Bear in mind these are pre-pandemic prices!

Can't drive, so...two buses and a train to get to my closest club

£15

Entry for a single man

£25

Drinks - I don't drink, so a couple of soft drinks, maybe a glass of wine for somebody else

£10

Taxi home

£20

So that's around £70 for a night out. Cheap compared to a big concert or theatre, expensive compared to the pub or cinema.

I've heard a lot of people say they drive long distances and stay in a hotel overnight which must make it a pricey weekend.

I've included travel because many people seem to be under the impression that driving is free!

What about anything else I've missed? Outfits, toiletries or make-up, ladies?

Ladies are often free but max £12. I don't drink but do get bought a lot of soft drinks so bar tab is £0 to £8

It's petrol that's the killer I'll drove between 30 mins to 2 hours

Well, yes. It's always a cheap night for single women, which is as it should be. There were few to none in the club I went to.

It's not necessarily a cheap night for a woman. All decent clubs are 2+ hours from me so I'll be spending 20-50 on petrol, 60ish on a hotel, entrance to the club is usually 10 or 15, plus soft drinks. Add in dinner and breakfast the next day. I don't drink alcohol so drive to and from the hotel which saves on taxis.

I'm lucky chams is up the road from me only about 40mins away and it's cheap for me to get in , I don't drink alcohol when at a club so a couple of soft drinks and I don't have hotel costs I can just go back home.

So... last night..

I spent about £12-£15 on fuel, £12 entry and £5.80 on food and drink. So somewhere around £30ish quid

I did spend £5 on a pack of condoms to take with me but I didn't get into a Situation to use them.

Reading this thread makes me wince given the amount of club nights we have, especially last year (which would have been a large chunk off the mortgage!). Even the free entries we’d spend a minimum of £20.

If we go to a licensed club, we typically spend between £50 and £100 at the bar, then whatever membership/entrance fee there is.

If we go to a bring your own, then we tend to spend anywhere between £20 and £35 on mixers, as we tend to drink spirits.

We do stay at hotels and in the first instance, to support the clubs, we’ll always try and stay onsite if the clubs have rooms and this can be between £50 and £130.

A cheap night for us would be £25 and about a tenner to drive there and back.

An expensive night would be travelling further afield and would be circa £300. And with that we try to make a weekend/long weekend, which of course increases the total spend, but drops the cost per night to something like £200 per night for two nights, or £150 per night for three.

We're quite lucky as we live close to two great clubs. One a 5 min drive, the other 10 mins. Hubby generally drives, so travel cost is minimal. We don't drink much so a bar bill will be no more than £30. The entry fee is also no more than & 30, so not a cheap night, but not too expensive

If we go to our local club it's usually also a date night so....

Taxi to city centre: £25

Dinner + drinks: £50-£100+ easily

Club entrance: £25

Bar tab: £60-£100

Cheeky kebab at 4am: £15

Taxi home: £25-30

So all in, a shit load of money!

Bloody expensive hobby!

We tend to go to clubs a bit further from home so it’s a drive and a hotel, taxi to and from the club, if it’s a licensed club a bar tab, dinner and drinks on top of that. So probably £200-£300 all in depending which hotel we decide to stay at. We usually make a weekend of it and stay for a couple of nights. We’re usually at club nights once every 6-8 weeks but just treat it add as our hobby so don’t mind spending a little bit on it x

We too are close.

I take my own drink which is about £15 +

Then take 2 trains £11

Then get in a taxi to the club £6

Pay to get in £10

Soft drinks about £5

I get a taxi home £ 60

= £100 so only go to the club now & again

We pay £35 entry, we stay on site if we can and can’t remember how much the rooms are off the top of my head. Think if we stay it costs us around £70-£100 including entry.

We usually have drink in the cupboard to take but will need to buy mixers, or may buy a bottle to share so say max £40

I often buy something new to wear, at the very least new underwear. So anywhere up to £100 (yikes!) If it’s a theme night it may be dressing up outfits too although the last one we used clothes we already had and spent about £25 on accessories instead of buying a whole outfit.

Baby sitter costs us between £50-£100 for the night.

Fuel- don’t count that.

McDonald’s Breakfast- don’t count that either lol

It’s absolutely worth every penny though. A night out in our local town can easily cost us over £250/£300 and it’s not as much fun!!

Last weekend I drove home after the club shut, spent £35 on entry and a bottle of Coke as a mixer for the husband (he already had the whiskey) and took myself a bottle of Aldi spesh mocktail, I wore an outfit I’d brought previously but hadn’t worn so actually the night was mega cheap night!

We attend three Fridays a month:

£35 club entrance

£80-£90 babysitter

£40ish drinks

Plus 40mins drive so petrol too.

We also have hotel stays if we go on a Saturday night and into the club Sunday:

£70 hotel

£50 club entrance sat night

£40 drinks

£30 entrance Sunday

Plus dinner/breakfast drinks etc

Not a cheap hobby but def a very enjoyable one!

It’s a few hours drive for us to our favourite club so we make a weekend of it.

We book a nice air b&b for the weekend and make the most of it.

The whole weekend probably around £500

Same here neither of us drink in ...far too busy for that then 20 minute drive and we're home

So £45 single guy entry unless FET night were it's £25

About £10 on drinks if I'm driving (bring your own soft drinks)

Not really sure about fuel maby £15 for a 40 minute drive

So £70, £50 on FET nights once a month

If I'm drinking then add about £10 for alcohol and £30 to stay over the night

So £110 (I don't drink on a FET night)

Interesting to see the range and some people certainly spend a lot!

Last one for us:

- £30 couples entry fee

- £5 on soft drinks at the bar

- £7 bottle of Prosecco to take in

- £2.50 Dart charge

- £10 petrol

- £10 box of condoms

So maybe £65 but worth every penny.

Then there is getting a manicure few days before and often a new outfit so the sky's the limit.....

I think this is one reason why good private house parties relatively close to home, whether small or large are a good option and always seem popular. They are either free or small charge, less travel, less petrol, take own drinks, probably no hotel etc. Just not many people hosting them for understandable reasons.

My local club is 5 miles away so in terms of petrol say 10 miles round trip at 25 pence per mile that’s £2.50.Entrance is £30 on a Tuesday £50 on a Friday and £80 on a Saturday. It’s bring you own alcohol but as I don’t drink I don’t take any they sell soft drinks at £2.50 so during the course of the night I would have a couple of soft drinks. So depending on what night I go it’s £37.50 to £87.50

Quite a range of habits and budgets, interesting stuff.

So far the biggest single factor seems to be location, I'd say?

As pricey as its been though, i don't regret spending it and I don't think others do either. Got to enjoy life while you can. In moderation of course!

Nr Cardiff or at Chams Darlaston

Ours tends to cost £28 entry.

Somehow we always seem to spend £20-£30 on some food and soft drinks/tea or coffee

Then fuel I’m not sure, but we tend to pop to Costco en route to fill up which saves money

compared to other garages.

All in all it’s not too bad. I would say we are more mindful since the cost of living has gone up. We would go more if everything else wasn’t so expensive currently.

Last time I went out

Fuel - negligible (I live round the corner)

Parking - £8

Entry - £35

Drinks - £10

Outfit - £30 (St Trinians night so....!)

So around £80, not a cheap night but as I don't drink probably the most I'd ever spend on a night out.

Although I personally prefer a sober social in a club, than a night watching people looking at their phones and talking about their kids.....yawn

Yeah I get that but for me that doesn't get accounted for in the night out budget. That is a general "Michaela love" budget that I'd allocate and spend regardless of whether I went to a club...

Friday nights £35 to get in, take own beer usually just a couple of bottles ( like others far to busy to drink ) one of us will drive take turns and only 8 mile. So £5 diesel max. - £45

Sat add £5 extra for entrance charge.

If we went on a normal pub night, taxis round trip £10-15, beer for both £8 per drink, usually watch a band so door/tickets £8-£10 each so well on excess of £80

So not that expensive when compared to a night on the beer in town.

Not all that North of North London

If we go to Silverleigh, it's admission, a few soft drinks plus petrol and the Dartford Toll so probably around £60.

Last London kink event we went to, £60 admission, about £100 for a hotel and parking, drinks are extortionate so probably £100 (even though we dint really drink), taxi to and from hotel/club, breakfast and or lunch before driving home, fuel... Not sure I'm not going to total thst up bit it's sonethong we do once or twice a year at best
