Surely, in relation to the planning consent it would make sense rather than
seem odd.
Especially if there is a chance that they might close at short notice.
Wouldn't people be more likely to take a punt on a reduced membership fee, in the circumstances.

"Just seen on Facebook that Eureka are offering 25% off membership fees.
Considering the planning situation this seems very odd.
"
Not neccesarily odd, bit certainly a little disingenuous to not mention the fact that they could close quite literally any day soon |

Just one more, or maybe two more summers please !
Despite all the negativity and uncertainty. The possibly lack of outside pool (certainly heated anyway) its still hard to beat for somewhere to go naked sunbathing. |

Yeah, just a little.
Any sign of this statement that was supposed to be coming a few weeks ago?
No, I thought not |

Reguarding the other thread that kinda maxed out with people feeling you were being nievely disingenuous didn't you say that euekas new management were to release a full statement a couple of weeks ago about the changes & upgrades & what was happening in general- did I miss it?

I think we were promised it about a month ago.
Mean while from comments on other threads the steamroom hasn't been open for years, the hot tub doesn't work properly, the showers are broken, the pool isn't heated and the planning permission means it could potentially close down tomorrow.
The club are saying nothing and the timeline for closure has dropped from several years to "not too soon".
I pity people that don't read these threads and pay up expecting something far more.

Absolutely this.
There’s nowhere else quite like it and we’ll take a chance at that price even if we only get a few days more in those glorious grounds.
Never used the hot tub or the steam room anyway. |

What's the worst that could happen?
You pay for the years membership, they close after a few weeks, call your credit card company and get your money back?
On the plus side, you have membership until it closes.
The grounds are not "broken".
The people who do make the effort and go (as opposed to posting messages on forums) are probably worth meeting..
Whatever happens my tan will be better after a day in the sun at Eureka, than if I just sit here and moan about Eureka. |

Agree completely, plus membership gets you free entry one Saturday night each month.
Seems a no brainer. |

You wouldn’t get your money back from your card company unless it was £100 or over |

A gold membership is or was £400. That being said its doubtful you'd be successful in a section 75 claim if you new the place was likely to closed down. |

I've always had annual membership as I go there so often that gold membership very soon pays for itself.
Realistically I break even at 18 visits and from then on each visit is cheaper. In summer I can easily achieve that in a month. I would have to be unlucky if they were to close that soon and start building work.
I've not been well over the winter but hope to enjoy at least another summer up there. |

Good morning Mike, apologies this message got stuck in requests.
I can only apologise for your dissatisfaction with the evening, it’s been a tough time for eureka post covid and I can only assure you that now I am here to change that.
Regarding the lease, I have just taken on the role of events manager and as you will continue to see either via social media or in person if you decide to come. I will be personally putting my all into the venue to rebuild it again to what it was and what everybody knows it can be throughout this summer and for many more summers to come.
The pool will not be heated due the astronomic rises in energy that everybody is facing currently but it is currently in the last stages of a deep clean and is scheduled to open by May 1st.
I can confirm the hot tubs and both working perfectly and are in use.
The sauna is currently working and in use. We have faced problems with the steam room and hot showers but these are both now in the motions of being fixed. |

"That is from Jamie, the new events manager at Eureka, I messaged him via Instagram.
It gives some optimism, at least in the short term."
It does but 'many summers to come' flies in the face of the planning permission and seems incredibly vague.

"Poxy cool East wind needs to seriously f*ck off now.
We want to get our bits brown! "
In recent years this variety of anticyclone has become a regular feature in spring, with most of the UK basking in sunshine while Kent gets all the shite from the North Sea.
It can go on for weeks! |

There’s a low in the Atlantic West of Ireland that just won’t budge!
Really looking forward to a warm day at Eureka.
We need some new pictures! |

Here we go again!
Woke up to a beautiful morning with all the promise of a classic Eureka day and by 10am it is overcast for the foreseeable future.
How can a once thriving club cope with the concerted effort of a weather system which is absolutely determined to ruin it? |

"Popped in yesterday afternoon for a couple of hours, it was quite pleasant when the breeze dropped."
That’s the spirit
Find a decent windbreak and it’s just do-able.
It’ll soon warm up hopefully. |

I have just renewed my annual membership at £18 for the year, I make that back after 2 visits! Nothing better than sunbathing on a hot day in the lower field! Am looking forward to it! Might go to the pool opening party next weekend |

To be fair as non locals the membership prices always put us off because its not a club we'd get to much. Also for us it's main selling feature is its outdoor facilities. Considering most of the year there's not the weather it's another thing that turned us off the high membership cost. |

Haven't been in a while and that was in Male mode, however, I'm tempted to go this Saturday as AlexTVSlut with my wife, will I look out of place?
We may drive there in the motorhome, is there a facility to stay overnight in the car park?
Thank you in advance for any guidance, honesty and replies xx |
