Hey guys and girlies,
What a shocker this dump really is - anyone else been., left a bad review then got abuse from the managment? Seriously avoid this place like the plague is back.
It is dirty, smelly and full of ladies in bobbly wooly cardies and men in work clothing. Vile Vile and more vile.

Goodness, don't even talk to us about that place. It really is the pits. We wrote a review and were accused also of not going because .... wait for it .... we are from Nottingham! Never again would we return the place is fully of oafs, thieves and vile people. Let them share their knitting patterns and leave them to it. If you want to know the name of a good club then just inbox us. |

I'm not sure if much else evokes such a fervent defence than a swinging club.
No matter how bad a club is and how terrible the nights are there are a legion of people ready to jump all over anyone ready to publicly give quite reasonable reasons for disliking the club.
Chalk it up to experience, mark it down as one never to attend again and move on life is way to short to get into arguments over a club when there are so many good ones out there |

The abuse the couple were getting in their inbox/review section (why they started this topic) |

I don't think anyone should get abuse but I do wonder if sometimes I am going somewhere else. As I have always found the place clean and most of the people well dressed.
Well expect when I pop in to the cinema at lunch time but as people are coming in during there lunch time I expect some dressed in work gear
As to women in cardigans. I have never seen this. All the women at last event I was at.expect for the two ladies at the door. Were dressed sexy and in lingerie.
I however only go to the cinema in the day and greedy girls nights
I also don't have a problem with it's state. Yes it's maybe in need of a referb but from what I hear once the extension is finished the older part will get that
I only get annoyed with reviews when it gets personal about those attending. As just because someone isn't to your liking I don't think you should slate them.
I will recommend the attic to anyone that asks me as on my experiences I've yet to have a bad experience there. Can't fault the staff at all.
Yes there are a few bits that are in progress but it's always kept clean.

I was looking to go back to a club in the new year, however after reading the reviews of all the clubs it seems they all have their faults.
I just want somewhere i can go chat to females couples any bugger that may listen to be honest and then who knows were it may lead.
If you have any suggestions please drop me a email.
I have been to chams in the distant past however i have heard a few disturbing comments about it recently.

I totally agree with Cali. It is a very friendly club and I have never been stuck to the carpets. I may be barking up the wrong tree but I believe there may be a hidden agenda.
I hope everyone enjoys their club nights, wherever they may be. Have fun!
P.s. Would anyone like to swap knitting patterns? |

To be fair as someone that visits lots of different clubs. Yes okay some clubs look more dated than others.
Yes I will admit I know of some bother at various clubs. But all I can report on my reviews is my nights.
I will say when I've had a bad time. However what I do think is wrong is when people get slated for reviews when they didn't like it.
My real issue lately has been when there are comments about those attending.
I think reviews bad and good should stand but without the slagging off of the people attending.
And I also think constructive criticism is better than destructive.
I am going on a club tour next year. Wonder what I shall find on my travels.

As someone that has been to a fair few clubs I would say unfortunately the attic is rated towards the bottom. It just feels old fashioned. The first thing U see are lopsided porn pics on the wall and it feels dark. I hope after the refurb it does brighten up and feel fresher as it is my nearest club.
I would highly reccomend libertys at Lutterworth or xotic in heanor. These clubs are how swinging clubs should be.

Not sure there is a hidden agenda as my friend and I visited this club when we were staying in a hotel up that way, the scruffily dressed staff made me feel very uncomfortable about staying so if we were looking for somewhere to go, this wouldn't be on the list.
And I wear cardigans, don't give a shit either, if I am wandering round and its cold, I put one on simple as that |

This.
My knowledge of clubs is limited to those in the South and South East that we attend or have looked at attending, Chams (because everyone has heard of it), and The Attic. And the reason we know the attic is purely down to the utterly cringeworthy but not surprisingly infamous club reviews on here. Reading those is like rubbernecking the aftermath of a carcrash. I cannot believe that anyone reads those comments and still considers going! It's not the bad reviews that make me cringe and put me off - it's the inevitable spats that follow, the allegations of lying and of non attendence and the same people constantly posting fabulous reviews to counter the negativity. Those people may well be in the minority of those that attend but who would chose a night out around people like that? |

We were regulars at the Attic for a very long time - most of the people there are lovely - and we made some amazing friends along the way.
All these reviews are childlike - seriously people should say their piece and be done with it - maybe fab should just allow one a month?
We did leave a negative review of the Attic and sadly did get some stick - but we wouldn't wish the club any harm, Ron is a nice guy who deserves to be treated better than he does.
I really hope this club is still around in years to come as they really have put the hard work in - they just need to focus on their regulars and newcomers making it a positive experience for all.
Merry Xmas people xxxxx |

there are certain clubs around the country that now have a notority for this.. the attic is one, one was so bad that they asked for the listing to be removed but they still operate... and it feels like that people have to stand up for "their club" regardless of the criticism large or small and slaughter them, and it certainly put me off visiting....... |

Hi after reading all the mixed reviews on the attic and chatting to a very nice lady I decided to go down and find out for myself. On entering I was met by 2 guys at the front desk who were very welcoming I told them this was my 1st visit and was given the guided tour by 1 of the guys he showed me all round the place the club itself is very clean and tidy no sign of sticky carpets and bad smells as suggested in other threads and the variety of the play rooms is also good I particularly liked the dark room and the Bedouin room although my personal favourite was the diagonal bed lol they really have made the best of the space in the club. Also the toilet facilities were spotless clean. There is a lot of work going on in the club to expand and improve and from what I saw these guys are working very hard to create a nice clean welcoming venue. The cinema itself was very clean with wipes spray and bins provided and leather sofas with cushions for comfort. Decor throughout is reasonably good.My only criticism well maybe more of a recommendation is to do away with the curtain separating the cinema and reception and replace it with a stud wall for added privacy and noise reduction other than that a very nice clean welcoming place and an enjoyable afternoon well worth the 1 hour drive and i will definatly be returning. Thanks guys.By the bald bloke in the cardigan |

As members of staff defending an allegation that your club is somewhat shoddy, don't you think you'd have created a better impression by exercising a bit more care about what you wrote and how you wrote it? A lack of attention to detail does nothing to help your cause. |

It was a long time ago we went, but really didn't enjoy it, not just down to the standard of the place, but the clientele, there was ALOT of dirty and I mean dirt, guys there and if the club doesn't sort that issue out then it seems like the avoid reviews will come thick and fast
Also very clique, we found anyway. Obviously the people that bring the money in are the guys so they continue to let then in no matter what they are wearing, how d*unk or dirty they are |

Thing is there's always going to be people you don't find attractive don't match your requirements lack personal hygene etc in every day life as well as cinemas and clubs all you have to do is give them a polite no ty and find someone else that does match your requirements all clubs and cinemas are businesses 1st and foremost and without the regulars be them suitable to your needs or not these establishments would not have the funds to stay open and for you to enjoy so give them a break and just enjoy. |

Everyone accepts that there will be people you don't find attractive and no one should ever complain about that. But are you seriously saying that poor personal hygiene at a swingers club is comparable and is no big deal? Seriously? I'm sorry the idea of being in a club where poor personal hygiene is tolerated is vile. |

I think if somewhere has to change its arrangements to better suit clientele, then the only way this can be effectively done is to take on board what people say, good or bad.
To be honest, blokes would shag in a decaying nissen hut if they could get away with it. Certain levels of comfort and standards in presentation make people want to come back time after time. If something is lacking, people will say about it until it gets put right, or they move on to somewhere else that will provide what they are looking for. When all's said and done, a business that doesn't listen is doing itself out of money. It takes ages to win a customer and only seconds to lose one.
It's certainly not rocket science, the big supermarkets manage it and are constantly learning from what their customers think.

".there's always the odd person your going to come across who dodges the soap but to insinuate that everyone that uses a place is unclean is absolute nonsense "
Yeah see this is my thing. I am there often. And yes in the day sometimes there are guys nipping in from work on lunch. So yes sometimes they are in work clothes.
However in all the times I've been I've only refused 4 guys for poor hygiene and I'm very particular about that
There are some issues. I'm not going to pretend that the attic is perfect but I don't see the problems mentioned so often. However I guess it must be down to preferences. Or maybe even the people that go
One thing I do disagree on is the club helpers and staff making some of the comments that are made
It looks petty and unprofessional and think does more damage than the negative reviews. I know what it's like to feel threatened and get defensive but there are ways to say things.
I also think hassling people that don't like the club is totally wrong. As that then leads to other people making snidy comments to defend their friends.
I can not fault the staff there. |

Having watched this develop in the forums and on the club review pages I have to say all this petty bickering has really put me off visiting the place!
I was thinking of going despite the negative comments, I like to make my own mind up about something though its nice to read what others think. We cant all like the same things can we.
All this seems very silly to me and there must be more worthy causes to get so worked up about! |

I have heard about the drinks and think that they need to have it put out the way as simply people will take drinks . Wrong but in happens. I have noticed at many clubs that women seem to touch but actually at the attic as yet I've never been touched without asking. However most know who I am and think I scare some of them lol
However I will say that I think that single guys on greedy girls nights tend to be better behaved. Or so it seems.
I do know that just because I like a club doesn't mean everyone else will. I had been put me chameleons at one point as had two incidences of single guys trying to touch without permission. And I said so too.
I do think though that personal comments about members shouldn't be aired. |

I agree with this, whoever the people are that jump on every negative view of the club in an agressive way and there have been many as some of those comments are removed from the page as they are just attacks, they do the club no favours at all
I also think that the style of reviews leave a lot to be desired, not so much positive critique giving ideas for improvement, but scathing nasty vehement slagging off, which includes personal comments about the clientel,There has never been a time that ive ever been in a club and found that everyone was the most perfect specimen of mankind and I doubt anyone else has either, thats just life and really nothing to do with the club or the facilities at all |

On the current reviews if I hadn't already visited I wouldn't be going.
Yet I love it. And use it often. And I think that over half the current to called reviews need removing.
Those defending the attic as they are on their reviews are not actually helping and they should just report. I think the attic could do with just one person to reply to critics in a grown up and impersonal way. And answer any concerns that come up
I for one find it improving month by month. I maybe a little biased for greedy girls nights and cinema days as I always invite a few people I want to meet. So it's kinda like a private party for me without the clean up.
I often take people along with me on first visits. And so far all have come back.

its a joke we have been twice and left two bad reviews but like all the bad review they get taken off .this place is a shit hole .and fab should take it off the clubs page as its a joke same people reviewing week after week .had to bad review two weeks back about taking peoples money at 11pm and closing at 12 but was taken off.
and we had all the abuse from staff and members if you are the type of person that loves it good luck and just keep going but when peoples reviews keep getting taken off that really gets to us .
as for the new part being built they have been doing that some time now.lol
but when you do not even have a website and do it on face book that should tell you a lot about the place.would never go back if it was the only club on earth.BUT THAT JUST US WE WOULD SAY READ THE REVIEWS BUT THATS A WASTE OF TIME |

All very subjective ...eurekas in kent gets some rave reveiws but i think its awful mostly because of the attitude of the staff and management ...went to the attic once and though its a work in progress the boss and clientele though thin on the ground were very welcoming and it was very clean and i lijed the intimacy of the layout |

It's not a dump at all. And attic staff do not have anything to do with reviews being taken off.. it's admin on fab that remove them.
The new area got held up because people decided to try cause problems.. now finally it's nearly ready and it's truly going to be great.
The new wet area is fantastic... And we have had a couple of amazing Friday nights down there.
It's very clean and yes In places could no with a refurb but it's an old mill... So only so much that can be done.
Website is currently being redone To show the new area... And I would and no recommend it to my friends and people I meet.
Those I have tempted to get past the hate reviews have been very much impressed..
The improvements in the last 6 months have been amazing.. and I liked it before.
Helpful welcoming staff, clean and welcoming.. and everything you need..
I go to lots of clubs and can honestly say I put this in my top 3. |

Postings are not taken off because they give a bad review - they are usually taken off because angry/irritated people often resort to insults and abuse to get their point across. Those posts are removed the same as they are elsewhere on the forums. |
