Also in Walthamstow, next to St James Street station, there was City Spa which changed it’s name to Club Raquel's.
I had my first experience of a swingers club there way back in 2003, attending semi regular until it closed down around 2007 I think?
Last time I drove past I noticed that the building had become a Tesco Express. If them walls could only talk! |

"Night of the Senses (aka Sex Maniacs Ball) was an annual pop up club night. Our first experience "
I (Steve) used to help out at the Sex Maniacs Ball at the SE1 club and it was a really full on weekend. When Debs and I first met she came with me to the last one at SE1, her first club. I think that was the first one where the name has changed as well. |

"There was Isis in Leeds"
We once went to Isis about 20yrs ago. Elderly lady on reception, cardigan ripped, fingerless gloves.... inside was no better.
Broken glass in a partition held together with Sellotape, ripped beds, used condoms and tissues on the floor , needless to say it was our one and only visit, we didn't stay long
Anyone remember the club that opened in Morley, again, around 20yrs ago?
Was on the 2nd/3rd? floor of a mill, quite smart but for some reason didn't last long, Pleasure rooms? seems to come to mind

New Paradise club near Loughborough. I don't know whether it was open in the 2000's, but I was planning to go there when I first ventured into the swinging world around 5 years ago.
Unfortunately there was a fire before I got to go, and it never re-opened. |

It was an amazing event. We were at the last one at SE1, too! We were at one a few years before that at an old church in Brixton - still the most incredible venue we’ve ever played in. Such a shame there’s nothing like it now. |

"There was also a club on the A1 next to a service station Cambridge 'ish' area.
"
Tease II at Alconbury services.
Done a quick Google and it’s seems that it closed down around December 2016. |

The Morley one was called The Pleasure rooms, didn't last very long but we had good times there. You could go up in one of those big industrial lifts with the folding metal doors.
That place was actually used to film a television play involving swinging. |

That's the place, didn't know about the tv play being film there though.
And here's another blast from the past!
If memory serves me right, on one of our visits we were sat at a large round table in the bar area and you two were part of the group we were sat with, small world |

Yes, I used to like Tease but I think they got screwed over by the leaseholder although the amount of work around there now ot would have gone anyway |

Yeah, sounds right ! Thought we recognised your profile also. If you remember the "playrooms" just had sliding drapes across them as doorways. |

There was a large mansion house in Mid Sussex which hosted monthly parties ..huge property with large jacuzzi..parties were fairly quiet but held in a sumptuous environment…also another club in Sussex (don’t think it was skinny dippers ) which was naturist during the day and lifestyle in the evening but had fab grounds and a nice indoor play vibe? |

Anyone remember the one in Gloucester?
Large detached building, big carpark surrounded by a high wall, close to city centre.
We only went once for a SH gathering, great night but can't think for the life in us what it was called. |

"Club lick on Walthamstow high Street, you only you there by the big lips above the entrance " . You could see those big lips with a tongue sticking out if you were on the top deck of a bus which I did many times.

Blue rooms in Dewsbury though I don’t think it ever got to actually open even after the council let the owners plough a load of money in - rotten swines.
I held a social in Dewsbury a few years back and the landlord was made up as they were trying to open some swingers club of sorts upstairs and I promised to go help him with ideas but covid but suddenly after and I’ve never been Back in.

"Paradise Dagenham
Paradise was my first club, I loved the hottubs there
Wednesday daytimes were never disappointing.
Often think about some of the regulars. where are you now?"
I believe Paradise Spa got shut down because of the “hired help” that used to be entertaining people on the Wednesday parties! |

Ick and Jenny that ran Funtime Swingers events?
I don't remember them from Raquel's, when we went there it was run by Debs and Mark. Mick and Jenny had a place in Stratford then I think but it always seemed geared more to wards single blokes. They also ran parties at a house in Colchester. |

Apologies you are right it was Jenny a nice pleasant lady.I believe after Hackney & Stratford it was the house in Colchester which I never went too as it was too far for me to get to and from but I always remember both of them from Raquels as they were both friendly towards me and always put on a good party. |

I do, but not we do, lol. And then Bromsgrove, Malgrove with all the back rooms? J&M put a lot of effort into the scene in the Midlands very early days. |

Thought it might be - only a few layers had been laid last time I drove past but I believe quick progress is being made. I wouldn’t want my wall that close to the A5 though!!! |

Great thread. Utopia was one of our favourites. Also really liked Le Chambre.
What about pubs and bars that were not recognised swingers clubs but were let's say a bit shady. Places where wives would go when partners were away etc. |

Yes. Hamshaw, also known as Brighton Sun Club. Open from June 2004 to November 2005, after which it became a care home. Now demolished, as far as I know. Sad day when it closed; it was such a nice club with plenty of outdoor space. |

"I remember a place in North London - Hackney, perhaps? - a basement underneath a restaurant? I went in about 1975that was the oasis club,it was near manor house in North london, green lanes"
Thanks for that - it was 1995, not 1975! But I loved it there, a really friendly place. I attended my first ever BDSM party there, unintentionally - I was gobsmacked to see things like watersports, large insertions (anyone for a large bottle of Coca Cola?) and a Sybian machine. It really opened mu eyes! |
