We've been contemplating trying Purple Mamba but the men's dress code is very off-putting.
If you're the kind of person that never wears a buttoned shirt or a suit unless it's a wedding or funeral, dressing as something you're not to fit in seems kind of weird and uncomfortable.
My girlfriend would be fine as she's usually wearing sexy goth stuff anyway, but walking in with her dressed like that whilst I'm in some white linen shirt and a pair of chinos would be pretty odd and awkward.
Any have experience of this as they seem very explicit about no t-shirts ?? |

May be get in touch with the club directly. We saw the website and thought it was very specific as to how guys should dress.
I dressed smart casual and was 'over dressed' when we got there. I would describe it as very much on the casual side of smart; but that was just my observation.
It's a bit annoying when you make an effort to follow the dress code to go to a club and none of the other guys have bothered. |

Don't be put off by all the stipulation on the website. It's a lovely club run with love and a vision. So naturally the owners want to create a good environment with good people and have aspirations. But it's a really friendly and relaxed environment once your in. Everyone is lovely and the owners really try to get the social juices flowing among everyone.
I get the fear of being over dressed. But don't be. If your the best dressed in the club that's OK. Personally I went dark jeans, smart white Oxford type shirt tucked in and nice shoes with matching belt. I didn't feel over dress or underdressed on our first visit. It's kind of how I like to dress out at night anyway and there were definitely guys in there less dressed than me. Having said that maybe leave the top hat and gloves at home. |

There's a world of difference between a shirt and a T shirt.
