I think a club would be a good place to start. You'll be able to meet a lot of different people, no one will have a problem if you decide you just want to sit back and observe, and many clubs have regular nights where they only allow couples and single women. |

I guess it depends what you want out of the experience.
We went to a club with the expectation to just enjoy the experience and play together, but ended up with a guy joining us… so set your boundaries and agree what you want out of it … we agreed to be flexible and go with the flow and that’s exactly what happened.

We were really nervous about clubs when we first got started so went for private meets.
With hindsight we realise this was a huge mistake and clubs were a much healthier environment to meet people and find out more about the scene, the reason being we find there's a lot less expectation in clubs to take part than with a private meet when people can be quite pushy and manipulative! |
