"It's advise but not compulsory. Will be down to the individual business." Don't think it's advise, looks like it will be compulsory from what was said. Status's just gone up from some clubs on our friends list seems to confirm this, still a bit confusion and they will no doubt work it out in the next few days

Boris said clubs are encouraged to take advantage of the covid pass using the nhs app. At no point did he said its compulsory.

"I think it's unclear, confusing, and short notice. But I'd also feel safer if it comes to pass" Yes we think the same as you. He didn't say compulsory but did say night clubs would be expected so we'll have to see more on this as the next few days pass before they reopen next week. Like we said we also hope this comes to pass and if it is advice clubs will use the app. We know which clubs we'd be going to if some do and some don't

"Why is anyone worried about letting in someone unvaccinated when you can still catch and carry the virus after the jabs. This " Because if you have had a vaccination your less like than 75% likely to pass it on as announced today in the Boris press conference. On a personal level we have a highly vulnerable 16 year old child with the rarest blood group in the world unvaccinated and this could kill him but I have to work to pay bills so I am going to make it as safe as possible to do so. If we are in that position as club owners there's going to be lots of others similar. This is about making it as safe a possible and you will never eliminate the risk completely but if you can migrate it as much as possible. We would say to those who don't like this idea of a Covid pass with respect & if it offends you for some reason to not come to our Club until the Covid pass is not required.

Quoting from their post: "We are awaiting details but as long as we are legally protected and not breaking discrimination laws"" From our understanding, if you cant have the jab or don't want it you can upload a test result within 48 hours to the app that covers you to show a negative test result which takes the discrimination argument totally away unless of course, you want to complain its discrimination asking someone to take a test. We have also checked as a Private members club we can legally deny entry into our club and set our own rules for entry.

Indeed, Boris said today that he expects people in crowed indoor settings or public transport to still wear masks. So common sense would say that to make the venue "as safe as possible" needs masks to be worn. However you could say that an acceptable level of Covid safety for this venue as required by the owners is a double jab vaccine cert. But acceptable is NOT as safe as possible.

If that is the case and you can upload a negative test result then I think you'd be absolutely fine. No one surely would be able to complain. If they would like to attend then either be vaxxed or take a test. I think that's a fair ask. All of these 'test events' have required tests too.

"If you want to play safe... Start with your sexual health vaccine status... Or do you not care who you infect? There are things called condoms!! I don't think he understands the difference between covid and these other issues he's mentioning. Oh please do explain the difference.. If I catch the clap, I can't pass it to old Mrs Smith who just wants teabags and bread. If I catch Covid I can. But as you don't test for Sti you are happy you pass it to swingers? " That's a huge leap, most swingers I know get tested regularly, they also use protection.

It's a special circumstance, and avoidable, whereas breathing in public is not.

"So are you saying if you have had the vaccine you can't pass it on?" Nope. Everything in life, including Covid, is risk mitigation and reduction. Being fully vaccinated is shown to significantly reduce the odds of catching and spreading it.

"Does anyone know how long the vaccine lasts for and how we know if it is still affective in your body? " It's longer than someone who hasn't had the vaccine. For someone unvaccinated it has no effect at all. For a vaccinated person we are waiting for the brilliant scientists who have managed to safe thousands of peoples lives with the vaccine to tell us how long it is effective and when we will get a booster jab to prolong the efficiency. Hope that helps

My point is... If you think you are safer in a room filled with people who have a had a jab... With the number of people vaccinated & natural immunity, it's around 75% and gets higher the more that rises. I suggest watching the Q&A section from the press conference today.

" I'd suggest you watch it again. Sir Patrick clearly said there was no data available for the reduction in person to person transmission of the DELTA variant due to vaccination. However, earlier in this thread Slinky Sally wrote the below; I have just downloaded my pass. It would be perfectly simple to screenshot it, send it to an unvaccinated person and they could use it. Doesn't seem at all secure. It just has my name, date of birth and a QR code. Now unless your club is now a membership based club, which it did not used to be, then anyone could walk in using any certificate, is that not correct ? Which would obviously also apply to any other club which is not a records based membership club.

I appreciate others may not feel the same. " Yes we need to trade but it has already been said the last thing any club needs is an outbreak linked back to them. The bad publicity in the Local & national press could close a club especially as swingers clubs are easy targets for the press. So better to trade as safe as possible than not trade at all. Local council health authorities are going to be all over clubs like a rash, we know Blackpool will be and we suspect if cases continue to rise it will become compulsory later in the year and better to take the right but difficult decision now than later.

"There no legal requirement for clubs it's the same as mask-wearing, it's just strongly worded advised. We are awaiting details but as long as we are legally protected and not breaking discrimination laws we can confirm - Club Play WILL be asking for the Covid Pass to gain entry into our club to make everyone that visits & works as safe as possible xxx I would just check on the legality of this. As I said above, it could open up yourselves to discrimination complaints. I would ask, what about those who cannot have a jab? That's can not, not will not. Quoting from their post: "We are awaiting details but as long as we are legally protected and not breaking discrimination laws" From our understanding, if you cant have the jab or don't want it you can upload a test result within 48 hours to the app that covers you to show a negative test result which takes the discrimination argument totally away unless of course, you want to complain its discrimination asking someone to take a test. We have also checked as a Private members club we can legally deny entry into our club and set our own rules for entry."

"I give up. NHS app to get in a club. Please discuss people " Another vote in favour from me. Nothing in life is certain, however the club asking for vaccination and/or negative test proof gives the customer some indication that the club owners are concerned about the safety and well being of their clients. And the customer being willing to supply the proof gives some indication that the customer understands that covid is a danger, is not a vaccine or virus denier, and does have concern about their own and others safety. As for all the attempts to derail this thread with questions about STI status - covid can be contracted simply by breathing in a space where an infected person is or recently was. Transmission of STIs generally requires a much more intimate type of personal interaction that should not occur within a club without explicit agreement between the people concerned, at which point it is up to the individuals to exchange test status information, employ appropriate protective measures to reduce chances of infection transmission, or whatever according to their own personal safety standards.

"Well i suggest any club that goes down that route of discrimination should have a large amount of money put to one side to cover legal expenses of the many court cases that will ensue. Lawers dont come cheap. There is no presidence. And the cases could go on for years. Good luck to them all. Vaccination is a choice. The general view of the brain washed people on here make it easy to understand why hitler got away with so much." I do not think that vaccine status is a protected characteristic, to be honest (and you can test instead of being vaccinated). Nor do I think lawsuits would go far given that the government is urging club owners to perform checks. Why do you feel the need to judge people as brainwashed?

"I think that requesting vaccine/test status may also provide a useful admission filter against the often very unpleasant type of person who believe they are entitled to go anywhere they want without question. Too often we see these people drinking too much, making unwanted approaches, complaining that there is nobody in the club who they fancy, and generally spoiling the experience for decent clientele. If someone is going to start their evening by arguing with the management on the door, they are unlikely to be the type of person that will enhance the club's reputation as a nice place to spend time." So what your suggesting is that someone who chose not to get vaccinated must be a trouble maker? Are you for real?

Government has no place in a courtroom judges wont rule without hearing the facts. But thanks for your reply

"Why is anyone worried about letting in someone unvaccinated when you can still catch and carry the virus after the jabs. If you require a negative test then surely It’s common sense to require this from the vaccinated too. This Because if you have had a vaccination your less like than 75% likely to pass it on as announced today in the Boris press conference. I can see why you want to make it as safe as possible. But surely "to make it as safe as possible" you would ask all your customers to wear a mask for all the time they are in your club. Are you going to do that ? That's ridiculous. Why is it ridiculous ? Up to now the Gov. has stressed that masks are first line defence for ordinary people to protect themselves and others. But acceptable is NOT as safe as possible." There's an easy answer to that. We can choose to attend a club or not.

"Why do you feel the need to judge people as brainwashed?" there are two types of people. Those that think the government has its best interests at heart. And people that think.

"Why do you feel the need to judge people as brainwashed? there are two types of people. Those that think the government has its best interests at heart. And people that think." So are you saying that those who choose to be vaccinated do not think, or are less intelligent than those who do not?

"Unless its the law and not advisory any discrimination would be liable to be sued. And rightly so. Its no different to refusing entry based on colour Private members clubs dont have the same rules. It's totally different to being refused entry based on colour. " This is totaly correct. PRIVATE members clubs can set there own rules for members including for entrance and charge different prices to enter and the only types of venues that can in UK law. Some are members of bigger bodies that set overall rules as a group but all swingers clubs I know are individual private members clubs like us. This is government guidance to the nighttime industry that might even become compulsory so good luck sueing the government or any club that implements the guidelines. In fact this is becoming compulsory in France tomorrow after they opened clubs a few weeks back in a similar way. The race comments I will not even dignify a response

"Why do you feel the need to judge people as brainwashed? there are two types of people. Those that think the government has its best interests at heart. And people that think." This is certainly true. Throughout the entire covid crisis the Johnson government has demonstrated that it does not have the best interests of the people at heart. However it has sometimes, albeit reluctantly, been forced by scientific and public opinion into doing the right things. In times of an airborne, highly infectious, rapidly spreading, very dangerous disease the right things to do are: - attempt to reduce the shedding of viral particles in the outgoing breath of potentially infected individuals - encourage individuals to use protective equipment to reduce the amount of viral particles in their incoming breath - encourage individuals to reduce person to person contact and increase social distance - require known infected individuals to personally quarantine until no longer infectious - require potentially infected individuals to personally quarantine until proved to not be carrying the disease - provide financial compensation to those who have to isolate, so that they do not starve or lose their homes - support efforts to develop vaccines and treatments for the disease - require proper testing and monitoring of those vaccines and treatments to avoid doing more harm than good - test for infections, trace contacts of those found to be infected - encourage population take up of vaccines - increase public health restrictions whenever infection rates are rising - only consider any reduction of public health restrictions when infection rates are falling and known for certain to be under control All of these above things the Johnson government did not want to do, delayed doing, and only finally did when overwhelming public opinion gave them no choice. At no point has the government acted because of the need to protect the health and economy of this country; it has only acted in its own self interest. I would say that there are possibly three types of people: those that are brainwashed and will believe anything the government tells them, regardless of it's stupidity; those that are brainwashed and will disbelieve everything the government tells them, regardless of it's validity; and those that do not blindly follow one way or the other, but examine all directives for their wisdom and merit, use reputable resources to investigate the truthfulness of assertions, seek knowledge where necessary, examine scientific consensus, and then encourage government and people to take actions that will be in the best interest of the population and will minimise harm.

I love how offended people are that they might have to do something that benefits someone other than themselves. God forbid should you have to take a harmless test in order to help clubs get back on their feet and provide excellent nights out and alot of fun.

"Well i suggest any club that goes down that route of discrimination should have a large amount of money put to one side to cover legal expenses of the many court cases that will ensue. Lawers dont come cheap. There is no presidence. And the cases could go on for years. Good luck to them all. Vaccination is a choice. The general view of the brain washed people on here make it easy to understand why hitler got away with so much." Going to a club is a choice too

" You now say people should take a harmless test in order to help clubs get back on their feet. I presume you mean all club goers should take a lateral flow test a few hours before going to the club ? In fact, that is the only way you will ensure that the club goers are free of the virus. However, would the clubs go down that route ? Or would they rely on the fact that someone had both jabs 6 weeks ago ? Disregarding the fact that even double jabbed people can carry the virus without showing symptoms?

We have over 120 people for Friday 23rd opening at our club and over 170 for the Saturday booked in with us already so I think we will manage just fine. I also sincerely hope if you catch it is just as you say and that you don't die or end up with long Covid as you say you are mega fit and it will not touch you or anyone you may come into contact with around you that's more vulnerable than you

On our local news there was a man who had thought like you, that he was super fit and didn't have to worry about the virus. He was being interviewed from his hospital bed while attached to oxygen after being on a ventilator for 9 days.
