Maybe another known 'ploy' by Government to hold things up until everyone has had 2 jabs and then maybe the 5 week clearance after for the vaccine to be effective?

It would not suprise me which is why I've made provision and changeable plans for my businesses.

Will we need certificates to go to the shops, to go to the pub? to go to work?

Everything is unknown and not very clear. Clarity would be good Boris.

Personally we like the idea of Covid passports in clubs. Knowing that people are protected as well as they can be is appealing.

Personally I'm not to fussed either way if they require some sort of vaccine proof then I'm fine (it'll probably be via the NHS app) if not I'm fine with that too.

It will be interesting to see what categories they apply any “passport” requirements to as I suspect most swingers clubs are not listed as a “nightclub” - some will be saunas / private members clubs etc .....?

It is interesting..I’m lucky I have had 2 jabs cause of my job but most of the 20s-40s haven’t even had first jab yet, probably won’t till end of the year And they are an important group in the clubs...so I think when everyone has had their jabs or the opportunity too then yes covid certificates great.

But until then..not so sure.

All I know is I want to be back in my favourite clubs without worry! I want to be a greedy girl again without worry of where people have been.

I would rather the quick 20 minute covid tests before you arrive and then show the negative test result at the door on arrival!

Personally I will have the jab when offered but will not go anywhere in this country that requires a passport. The fact a person is vaccinated offerers no more protection to anyone else. If people want the jab for their own protection that’s great but don’t think someone else having it protects you. Also I would much rather know someone doesn’t have hepatitis or hiv than a covid jab. Why are we so focused on 1 thing and a thing that for the vast majority of the population Wouldn’t know they had it if they didn’t have a test for it. The government have done such a good job ot scaring a large percentage of the population that now they have to bring is passports to convince them to come out of the house.

There’s more and more evidence every day that all the vaccines reduce TRANSMISSION vastly, so yes, being vaccinated could well prevent someone else catching it and perhaps passing it on. Check the Israel data or Scottish study.....or the American one.....or many others.

Will you have to apply for these covid passports or will you get one issued after the 2nd jab. After my 1st one i was given nothing execpt my 2nd appointment but ive noticed some people after their 1st were given a card with the date and type of vaccine they received but where i had mine done nobody had any of that just a leaflet of what side effects you might get ?

I have read all of the data. I work as a statistician. In finance not covid but I spend most of my life analysing data. What you said is correct as a statement however not for the reason you think. The vaccine creates the ability for the body to have a strong immune response to the virus. The stronger the immune responses the lower the viral load. The lower the viral load the less symptoms you have. So in around 75 of vaccinated people you have effectively turned them into asymptotic cases. Which is great the they are not ill and have a low viral load so are not anywhere near as much risk to others. The issue is that for the last year we have been getting the message that anyone can spread the virus. When you look at the data around 20-25 of cases have been spread by asymptotic patients. Which means an asymptotic person and a vaccinated person are statistically the same risk. The statistics that are being used for all of this are quite dangerous and when it comes to a public enquiry some people are going to get in trouble. As another quick example France are going into another month long lockdown because of what the pubic perceive as danger vs reality. So cases are going up. But in the last month they have increased testing by around 40% however deaths and hospitalisations have flatlined or decreased. At the start of the pandemic we didn’t know enough about the disease so we had to scare people to staying at home. Now we are stuck as we can’t convince people it’s safe.

We are sure everyone who owns venues that will be able to reopen sooner with people who are vaccinated, in the short term they will be over the moon. Starting to gain revenue sooner rather than later has to be a good thing for everyone. Personally if we were choosing to go to a club and one was only letting folk in with vaccination certificates and the other one was just letting everyone in with no checks (all in the short term) we know which one we'd be going to. The road ahead is unknown, so until the science is proved right or wrong, the new normal will have to be worked through. Everyone who is shouting about liberties want to remember this is just till we learn to live with it all. Vaccines, booster vaccines, variants. All very complicated, it would be so easy just to go back to normal but at what price? Conclusion, we support Vaccine certificates

Okay let’s brings this back to what it’s about..rather than debating if the vaccines actually work...Thank you

In a perfect world the entire population would be vaccinated and then the world could re open and everyone be happy again. I’m just intrigued as to how the clubs and owners will handle this. I know it’s important to bring it money abs get through the doors. But what about that percentage that don’t want the vaccine...means they can’t set foot in a club again? Or travel again?

Also...you get a certificate/Passport after your second vaccine...mine came through via email and you have to print it and keep it.

"We know a few people who own/run pubs and they and just about everyone in the trade they know just want to get people back in and start earning again, not bothered about stupid passports."

The point is though, the few people you know, if they could open next week with the passports or have to wait a while longer do you think they'd go for the passport option and open next week. The fact the government have never said pubs, shops and public transport would be included in this and people jumped to the conclusion they would be included is another subject. It was even said in the news today they wouldn't be included. Good to see football final at Wembley will now have crowds in with a trial of the vaccinated and tested is great news as there was going to be empty stands.

Feel that an app is wrong they are unreliable and some do not have smartphones.

This should be a proper certificate not on a mobile gadget.

Everytime the government does an app it costs billions and does not work,ie test and trace app to start with.

hiding from cock pics.

I can't find an article saying this, the most recent article I found said they are trialing the passport idea in some major stadiums, but for example, Liverpool city council has said they will not engage in a trial at all.

I read that they have not ruled out down the line it be necessary to get in pubs or restaurants but I haven't found any articles saying that it is being trialled in the foreseeable future.

Maybe I just haven't been able to find it for some reason?

I've not had any jabs yet due to being 29 but personal I think the passport's are a good idea least then we all know we are safe and that it's less likely to catch covid ,I wont be going to clubs or meeting people till im fully vaccinated as I don't want to catch it and spread it to anyone , it would kill me if I found out I passed it on and killed someone's loved one

I think it’s fair.

I realise it’ll take a while until it fully picks up as it’s going to take some time to get through everyone with both doses but I think in light of everything it’s quite fair really.

I think it’s going to become like a covid passport where you’ll need it for anything with a crowd so any club or _estival or concert or event and to leave the country too.

I’ve had one, just waiting on my second.

Thanks, I’ll stuck to the advice of the statisticians who are working on this and take their advice. Vaccination reduces the chance that you will transmit the virus so your less likely to spread it in an enclosed environment.

A vaccine passport maybe the tool needed to get the lazy and selfish vaccinated. On a point of principle I'm against the passport. However my concern is when it's the younger age groups turn to have the vaccine many will just not turn up. Not out of a personal point of principle or concern, just out of laziness. I believe in the vaccine but I also support the inviduals right to choose. However if that choice is due to laziness and selfishness rather than conscientious personal conviction I do not support that. Obviously that wouldn't make those with a serious conscientious objection get vaccinated (and they shouldn't be forced to IMO). But at least it might get the simply lazy and selfish vaccinated.

Covid passport for night clubs ,restaurants, theatre's non needed for outdoor activities non required for supermarkets

Or shopping centres ,people need to give there head a wobble, government can't afford to go pound bakery never mind introduction Covid passport, we as in UK don't turn away passengers from other countries who never had there polio jab no chance of a Covid passport many people can't have the jab

Being cynical I have a feeling there are 2 elements at play. One is to get people to have the vaccination - not a bad idea possibly. The other is more complex. Assuming they do get around to vaccinating the 18- 49 year olds some time in the summer - with the 3 month gap between doses + 3 week wait at the end the youngest won’t be able to get a passport until maybe November. So for a 30 year old who wants to go to a club then the easiest way to do it is to catch covid, get a positive test and apply for a passport - maybe 4 weeks wait. That will last them 6 months. So the passport option suggested is likely to bring about catch covid parties- which will increase cases and possibly change perception of the situation! But it would speed up the recovery !

From my point of view once vaccinated the risk of severe illness is so low then why would I worry about the status of others ? The people who will miss out are if course those that cannot get the vaccine - they are the ones to feel for. They won’t be ok until covid goes.

Indeed it is, I’m 28, I’m a Carer out in peoples houses, going from house to house. I’ve had both vaccines, I heard rumours about possible issues it can cause and yes I felt rough like I do after the flu jab. But I didn’t get it for myself. I got it for the 65 vulnerable people I look after. So...yeah not selfish or lazy, quite the opposite.

Well then I guess we will just all have to wait and see what dear old Boris has to say when the time comes! He has 2 and a half months to make up his mind.

Its discrimination pure and simple. If we wanted to have children there is no way we would have the vaccination. exactly. Annoys me how so many have been so brainwashed with it all. Even read how everyone should just get vaccine and stop been selfish. Its not an experimental vaccine. I work in an area that we see the positives of the vaccine. To start with we have lost only 1 client to covid since them having the vaccine. We work with vulnerable and old and yet lost none to the vaccine. I cant say I've heard of any across the board either.

There are very few side effects. As someone working in both care and the vaccine efforts. We have seen so many elderly people coming back for their 2nd vaccine and very very few have reported having had bad side effects.

In fact a sore arm and a day or two of mild symptoms seems to have been the most common.

Hang on, we were having over 1000 people a week die of Covid. How many now?? and how many are reported to of died with the vaccine every week. People say it's dangerous but it seems to be saving 1000's of lives. Some folk are deluded. Why do you think we live to a grand old age? it's not pure luck but medical intervention over the last century.

Whose mate has got the contract for all these millions of home testing kits being handed out for free ?

We would love if some clubs did an evening per week for example where everyone admitted would need to show a recent STD test and take a 20min Covid test on club entry. Condom would still be needed but we would feel much safer this way.

"A vaccine passport maybe the tool needed to get the lazy and selfish vaccinated.

(Mr)

Thats a sweeping statement you can't just say that the younger ones will not get the vaccine because they are lazy, where is your proof of, you can't go around slinging this sort of statement without evidence, I hope they prove you wrong and I know a lot of younger people who are wanting the vaccine , just like myself "

It is a sweeping statement and we won't know if my concerns are valid or not till the future if there is no extra measures to encourage compliance. My concerns are purely based on what I've seen over the last year from the under 25s and prevalent attitudes. I hope I am proved wrong too.

I like the idea, as well as tests. It's not a requirement though, just a government idea

I can assure you that my 4 children in their 20s and all their friends are desperately keen to be vaccinated. Some already have been if they live with vulnerable parents.

Nothing is free in this world, it’ll cost somewhere down the line to produce and acquire... my “free” tests are made in China... so I guess the contract is there too?
