There has been a lot of chat about Chams, although not much for a couple of weeks.
It seems everything is fine with them, the staff & the fish.
They are as keen to open as we are for them to open, hopefully we will get to relax on the sundeck this summer |

No real agenda here - just haven’t seen any chat about our favourite club - Chams - hope everyone there is well and we look forward to it reopening xx"
Yes the best of the best in every way.
Very much missed.
Here’s hoping for a return one day. |

"How easy is Chams to get to from Birmingham Centre? xx"
I believe it's a Metro ride, a bus and a couple of short walks. A taxi would probably be better (35 minutes approx), but if you're planning to stay over, there are other options. x |

"Love this place. First thing on my list is to get down there when we're allowed. Can you spend the day and evening there? "
As a single guy you have to apply for membership in advance and make a reservation, occasionally they will let men join on the day of a first visit and it is quite rare it is quiet enough.
Get in touch with the club, they will give you all the information.
Once you are a member you can be there as long as you like on any given visit.
There are some limitations, such as it being couples and single ladies only after 7pm on a Saturday but otherwise, if it is a time single guys are allowed in you can visit when you like. |

Have you not been to chams?"
Yes, been a few times, but only in the evening. I'd love to spend some time through the day and make more use of the facilities and also stick around for a raunchy evening. Having said that, absolutely fine with the whole day/night being raunchy!! |

In that case, yes, you can stay all day/evening, except Saturdays.Single males must vacate the premises by 7pm(I think, maybe best checking with staff on precise time)on a Saturday |

Or if you don't mind a cheap and (hopefully) cheerful Uber it's a train ride from New Street to Walsall and about a £5 taxi fare. Obviously if you not staying over the difficulty could be getting back if leaving late at night. |

By public transport, I get the Metro from New Street to Bilston and then a bus to Darlaston Asda. A short walk from there. |

Pre covid
Monday: bi night (m,f, couples, tv/ts)
Tuesday: nude night (m, f, couples)
Wednesday: normal dress down (m, f, couples)
Thursday: normal dress down (m, f, couples)
Friday: normal dress down (m, f, couples)!
Saturday: normal dress down (f, couples all night, single m until a certain time)
Sunday same as weds/thurs
Check the clubs site incase any of this info has changed. I prefer mondays, tuesdays and weekends |

Very different environments. We have a preference but that is not to say one is better.
Xtasia is more nightclub based as for comparison, chams is spa based dress down
They both do their job very well |

From the tone of your message, you are not a member of Chams. Before Covid, there was a famous waiting list for single guy memberships. What the situation will be post-Covid is anyone's guess. Make sure to phone up to find out before you go. Assuming that you are from Newport in Wales, then driving a 200 mile round trip for nothing would suck. It may pay you to find out if you can get a membership at Chams in Newport and see if it can be used at Darlaston. Just an thought.

If we are to believe the government's roadmap to recovery,June 21st would be the earliest date it may be possible.

We can’t wait but it will be probably packed for first few weeks so probably we will go around August.
We are more concerned about a safety and how they resolve a distance between the people and how we will be able to play with the others with keeping 2m distance. |

Pre-Covid single males had to leave by 7pm - after that it was single females and couples only. That was the only time single males weren’t allowed. |

If the 2m rule is still in place the club won’t be allowed to open, they’ll only allow clubs to open when they feel it’s safe to go back to normal, you may need proof of vaccination/tested clear though. |

Chams is definitely not cliquey...although anywhere can seem cliquey to people who don't attempt to mix and join in socially. There will also be people who know each other and sit together to chat and catch up..its all perception...on the whole though chams is super friendly and great fun..you get out of it what you put in.. |

I think the accusation of cliques is usually invalid. Not always, but usually in life. People can be either happily talking to people they already know, which is obviously fine, and others can be too scared to start conversations. A big group shouting and laughing out on the smoking deck might look like a clique, but like the forum regulars, they're just enjoying themselves. What are they supposed to go, go out of their way to help other people who aren't involved? It's a nice gesture, but they have zero obligation to round up everyone.
And yes I think Chams is the friendliest club we've been to. Certainly works SO SO SO much better than Xtasia. So much of it comes down to the physical layout even, natural foot flow etc. |

We couldn't agree more...generally a fantastic mix of people who are as friendly as you are prepared to be yourself.
Of course, some people arrange meets in the club and are perhaps therefore not so interested in entertaining others.
Consistently a safe and friendly club. PDx |

"Whenever we've been to Chams we've always found it not to be too difficult to get chatting to other couples "
Where have you found it to be better? Only been there on a very quiet night once, but I can imagine that Purple Mamba, because of it's tiny size, could be different, but outside of that I'm not seeing why any similar sized club would be better. |

Chams is our favourite club, as we said we've never found it difficult to get chatting to other couples there. Always had a great time there, we wouldn't have hosted our party nights anywhere else |

Oh they've changed the stairs, nice.
Wonder how they've done that? "
Apparently there's another one now going up (or down... ) through where the chain curtain room was, on the other side of the wall to the existing staircase. |

When you spend as much of your time in clubs standing around with nothing much happening to you, it's easy!
Liberty Elite was the easiest one to analyse I thought though. The sofas are too far apart due to the layout of the place and the large coffee tables in-between them, and the dance floor is too open to the bar area. Far too much DJ music noise and awkward to start a conversation we found.
Xtasia's "night club" level code we found surprisingly awkward too, can't quite say why. but whilst Chams underwear rules seemed vulgar and aggressive to us, the reality was it levelled lots of playing fields and opened people up much more. |

I must say I agree with you on xtasia being difficult to strike up a conversation, same issues as a normal nightclub where everything is a bit too loud and there is a bit too much movement to be able to get through the small talk to the actual conversation. |

I imagine that must have been a much better environment for breaking ice and starting conversations.
Hopefully will actually be able to catch up in person soon, ideally before your birthday.... hopefully |
