Ron the owner posted on another thread a couple of days ago on the Attic, that the attic is definitely reopening as soon as they are given the go ahead, all good news as long as this road map doesn't get scuppered by all the people who think this is all over now, decided mixing is all ok. These business owners must be on tender hooks watching the crazies. |

I must admit that I’m curious as to how clubs are going to open if social distancing measures haven’t been relaxed by that point. Opening night clubs is one thing but sex clubs are another prospect |

It's only a 10 minute walk round the corner from me, but Ron & co will have to wait for some considerable time before they see my smiley face again I'm afraid. Not even planning on going to the pub anytime soon either  |

That's our point about road map and crazies. As it stands all restrictions to be lifted 21st June so no distancing rules after that. BUT, the crazies could get this part of the road map extended if the R rate gets out of control. |

So, which is more likely to cause a spike?
People OUTSIDE in a crowd (so where was the spike in Glasgow a couple of months ago with the Rangers fans celebrating?).
OR
Probably 5000 Indians coming to the UK before Friday's Red List deadline some of which will be carrying the Indian Variant ? Many will be self-isolating (wonder how strictly that is adhered to) in multi-generational households, with kids going out to work and grandkids going to school.

I don't really see a difference at all. 100 people dancing next to someone infectious vs 98 people chatting next to someone infectious and 2 people having sex with them? From my dubious understanding of the relevant probabilities etc, the difference seems marginal at best. |

Train station is just a short walk from the Attic and there's hotels just outside the station. Hallmark is supposed to be a good one. Think we are going to stay there on our next visit as Attic don't have rooms to stay overnight anymore |

Yep. I lived near Derby for most of my life and it was only 20 mins door to door from my house. There are lots of decent hotels in Derby and as it’s a small city, most taxi rides are cheap. |

That's not brutal at all. It's up to the individual or couple how they roll. Going on your own is great and shows how confident you are. People are open for great chat as well as any play as it is, after all, a social environment |

I've been going as a single female since it opened. No complaints here. Great facilities, staff look out for you...and they allow a good selection of single guys in. Which for me is a must. It's also the most inclusive and friendly club I've ever been to

I like this club a lot , been as part of couples, a single and in groups , very lively, friendly , down to earth and great value, never had any issues or felt uneasy.
Some I know say it’s not classy like some clubs or it’s too big and busy - it just depends what kind of night you want and what kind of setting you feel best in |

Hi Cali, not be long before we an say hello again face to face hopefully. Not sure when we'll be down after the club opens as we had a death in the family due to covid so no longer need to come down to visit family. We'll still be down to visit our fab friends @ the Attic though |

I stayed at OYO Hotel and conference centre. Used to be a railway training centre. Nice building, decent room and not expensive. |

We intend to go when it reopens. The only other time we went it was not a party night and it was not a great experience (gangs of scruffy men), but the venue is great. We assume they have given the place some attention while closed too. |

Ron the owner keeps a brilliant ratio, if there's not a lot of couples in they won't let lots of single guys in. It's not a club that just let people in for revenue. We have sat in the entrance area many times chatting and seen for our own eyes guys getting turned away due to ratio. Also if there are groups of guys they get turned away and if people wear trainers, hoodies and caps, as there's a smart casual dress code. Attic has never in our experience just been full of guys. Also if you both want to try a club for first time and Mrs has this issue look for a club that does a couples only night to dip your toes |
