It'll depend on a number of factors...people behaving so that the road map stays on track, ongoing vaccination take up and then control measures around social distancing and mask wearing being relaxed...very fluid at the moment. I've assumed 2022 but I really hope I'm wrong as I can't wait to get back to Chams.

But the vaccine doesn't stop you catching or passing the on. So the vaccine is to protect yourself not other's, so why worry if someone else has been vaccinated. Showing proof of a vaccine just means your ok but you can still give it to somebody?

It doesn’t say that at all! It doesn’t mention social distancing will remain in any government document you are making that up. If they are looking to open nightclubs and live events etc then the rules on social distancing will be removed. Stop making things up.

Wrong, that hasn't been said at all. They didn't say anything about social distancing still being a thing.

In fact, today Matt Hancock said we are on track for social distancing to end in June. You seem to have either misunderstood or are just hoping to spread negativity, either way, you might be better sticking to threads you actually have an interest in, instead of just adding negative comments to a large portion of club posts.

Someone mentioned vaccines !! These are great however not everyone is old enough or has an underline health issue. If your unfortunate enough to be young fit and healthy then vaccine date might pass June 21st.. can’t penalise the young fit and healthy ??

I might wear a snorkel in the hot tub as I dread to think how much chlorine Mark has pumped into that thing to ease the boredom over last months..

No one knows an exact date the earliest proposed date would be 21st of June, but with infection rates and hospital cases falling faster than expected maybe just maybe the government might move that date forward..it will all depend on how many people are testing positive and now with schools testing it should give a bigger picture as well..fingers crossed we can visit chams soon..

But they announced yesterday that every adult over the age of 18 will be offered the vaccine by 31st July

We are so looking forward to Chams opening again it’s the only club we use so quite the journey but well worth it.

Although the government will be easing the lockdown I think the local authority ie the councils will have a big say as to if the club will be allowed to open and unfortunately they will use that to there advantage.

Let’s hope it’s not the case and we can go back to enjoying life.

So a crowd hangs around together waiting for results and if a person or more than 1 individual tests positive then what? You all isolate 10 days , some people have gone inside etc. sounds like a logistical nightmare and just about impossible

Social distancing is not going anywhere on 21st June . Get real -at no point have they said it’s possible and with Covid going nowhere , nor is social distancing. Regrettably, i think they are probably right, that whilst restrictions may be relaxed enough for sectors to reopen, i think it is also very likely that social distancing and masks will remain in place until next Spring, with tier 1 style restrictions coming back in October. New variants, will require booster vaccinations for the whole population come the autumn. My company runs business conferences and we are allowed to start again after 21 June but i full expect social distancing and masks, which will make it very difficult.

Not sure about lobsters but possibly crabs..

Chams is about 2 miles down the road from the Greenhouse (same owners but different venues) might have been one and the same but not in my swinging lifetime

I don't think they ever were

The original greenhouse was where chams is now

It closed around 2000 I think and reopened as chams

I remember going to the greenhouse back in 91

No jacuzzi 1x steam room, one sauna no cinema, no dark room - just foam beds on wooden frames right at the top with curtains round each one lol

It's going to be interesting how all clubs manage things going forward.

Chams has been guilty in the past of allowing way too many people in to the point where clothes were put in bin bags because lockers were full.Some nights you simply couldn't move, let alone find a room.

Pre-booking/payment might be a good way of managing entry numbers but I'm sure there's other things that might help too.

A side topic but on the subject of dark rooms, I always think the top floor is only seldom used on the whole and would be far busier if they knocked some (fake) walls through and made the whole area a darkroom, perhaps retaining the dungeon type room at the end.

That's pretty much how it used to be as the greenhouse

The top floor used to go thru various makeovers

The room at the end ( with the fire escape) used to be a real darkroom

You'd just sink to your knees and reach out lol

It used to get so hot from body heat the fire alarm would go off - one of the staff would have to come in switch the light on and re set it

Then you saw who you'd be sucking off lol

They used to leave the fire escape door open for air to circulate

However men would start screwing on the stairs of the fire escape

I think one of the residents complained he could see it from his house

It might be quiet some nights, but it’s always busy on a Friday.

I prefer the rooms up there, the two on the way to the outside area get too much noisy passing traffic, and the one by the cinema is a mini sauna!

The fire escape room does still suffer slightly from occasional men wandering up the fire escape, but the red room with the large bed is an excellent space.

I hope they leave the top floor as it is.

There’s already the couples room, the decking, the hot tubs and the round room for people who want group play.

I was a weekly visitor before lockdown and have always found the top floor to be in demand.

On Fridays you often have to patiently wait for availability.
