If this happens nationally it seems it will be yet another nail in the coffin for the clubs, or at least those clubs that are trying to stay open by operating as late bars for socials only.

It's a sad outlook for the clubs at the moment.

But I guess realistically you have to ask yourself why would anyone drive a long way and pay an admission fee to sit in a bar and socialize and then have to leave at 10.00pm ?

It may work OK if you live close by, but for those who travel, will they still come?

The clubs that are operating as bars seem to be ticking over ok and some, i.e. Xtasia have daytime options and cinema. As always, these clubs will adapt to the new guidelines and laws.

We have chosen to stay closed. We lose less money staying closed than we would by opening!

Nail and coffin analogies aren't helpful to clubs who are trying their best to stay open and solvent for their customers. They could easily just throw in the towel and cut their losses. So a bit of compassion would be gratefully received. Ta xx

Yet people do travel a long distance just to socialise. socialiseing is a lot of fun in its self.

When we were in our teens and twenties all pubs and bars closed at 10:30 in the week and 11 on Friday and Saturday. We survived and so did they. Venues and their clients adapt.

I appreciate that clubs are a bit different but clearly they're adapting too.

I am of that age as well. Still tend to go out for 7 and home for 10. Can get plenty of beer d*unk in that time. I really don't see closing pubs early as a way of preventing the breakdown if the rules. If anything people will probably just carry on drinking in each others houses after hours. Will only really affect the behaviour of relative few people drinking in late night city center pubs.

I would. I was before lockdown

It was a great thrill to be going somewhere par my four walls and stay in hotel with friends.

Pubs used to shut at 10pm then the licensing laws changed. Its like Sunday shopping. Open at 10am shut at 4pm. Again we never had shops open Sundays par off licence and paper shop till Sunday trading laws changed.

Clubs were always licensed till 2pm. Maybe the government will bail our clubs out. They should if they implement it now. Compensate businesses for loss of trade.

Credit to the club owners that are trying to adapt to the needs of its customers. And the ones that are not opening at the moment Will do so when it’s economically Viable to do so , and some local councils are not deeming it safe to do so with some clubs . So I think it’s up to us the customers to pull together and support the clubs where and when we can , even if it’s just for a social and meet new friends. After all nothing stopping going somewhere with someone after . Please support the clubs ??

A worrying number of clubs up my end are currently having to ask for charitable donations on many platforms from newspaper ads to face book posts in order to earn the funds to pay the rent for the facilities , night life when all is finally said and done is going to need a good bit of time to start up again.

The 10.00 pm closing may make it tricky for the club that I go to as they open at 10.00 pm

Perhaps I`m old fashioned, perhaps I`m still in w*rk mode, but by 10pm I`m looking to be in bed! My visits to Chams are usually on a Friday night and I have to be at a hotel before midnight as they close reception after that. On the basis of a club opening at 10pm I would get a hour and a half there!

If you are lucky enough to have a club near to you that is open, please support it in any way you can!

. The club is open Tuesday , Thursday , Sunday 10.00 pm to 3.00 am and Friday , Saturday 10.00 pm to 5.00 am.It would be nice if it opened say 8.00 pm but I guess location of the club , license laws , council regulation probably dictate the opening times. I am lucky enough to have the club 20 minutes away from me so support it as best as I can.

Never really understood why it has to be so late.

We use BGHS when it's open and that's always closed at 10pm. Still plenty of fun but we were never exhausted.

Fingers crossed that all clubs weather this and can open again once it's safe to.

They tend to use screws nowadays, they seem to be tightening by the week again.

The 10 o'clock closing,is hopefully ok for the club I go as a daytime club too, usually it closes to day guests midnight friday and 11pm Saturday,10pm rest of week,so the weekend will have to change till 10pm when it happens

I have an over nighter booked in a couple of weeks,as it's a Saturday it would only close an hour earlier,so it's all good.

Hopefully they don't stop hotels or that would affect them more than an early closing

To be fair when we go to Chams we tend to get there before lunchtime and stay all day and night. We like to people watch and socialise. There are plenty of people who come in the day, early evening and leave by 10pm. I dont really see to what extent this changes things, surely many people will just start earlier in the day. Maybe the later opening clubs just need to open earlier.

Yes maybe some of the evening only clubs could open 5 or 6 pm as it's only social at moment, they could adapt temporarily to keep the club open

They will have 4/5 hours of custom rather than no custom at all,I'm sure alot of people would rather that than closure

The problem is making that financially viable. For some businesses they lose less money closed than they do opening for a short time.

Yes I do understand that as have read about your situation

We will have to wait and see what the clubs decide to do
