New club in Great Barr, Birmingham

does anyone actually think this club will do any good ? it looks old and very dated in the pics ( i may be wrong though ), i know its an old working mens type club but it looks like they just closed as that and opend up the next day as late xs? |

Myself and my partner are currently improving the place. It is dated, but is also quite nice and comfortable. It is not a massive venue, but it is worth a visit. Slagging something off before even trying it is a bit lame. In time if we can get folk to give us a try, we will in time improve things. |

The best thing you could do for your club is to not rise to petty arguing on here!
Unfortunately people will say its crap and some people will rave about it. You on the other hand must remain dignified and objective!
The correct response should have been 'website updated, please take a look. Bear with us, it's a work in progress. Come see us and tell us what YOU want out of the club scene'

Thank you. It is a lovely venue despite its dated look. I will post some new updated pics as soon as the couple of play rooms are finished. In all honesty it was meant to be a swingers social venue not a swingers club, but lots of folk were asking about play rooms so we have tried to add a few for those that want them. At the moment I would describe it still as a swingers social venue but with added play rooms for those wishing to use them. Like everything, things have to be tried and opinions based upon that rather than misguided biased assumptions! |

i was not slagging off the club or being hostile in any way i asked a question thats all and if the question was read properly i actually said it looked dated BUT i may be wrong! to be told were not suitable people to attend the club ( not welcome , back covered )& blocked just because i asked a question is nothing more than ridiculous , im refuse to get in to a slanging match so dont bother trying i totally understand that people dont like to be what they think is critisized when there trying to do something good but if that is going to be your response to everyone who asks a question then i do think you shouldn be in hospitality , the response that lipgloss made would of been the correct way to reply or why not say come along and see for yourself , not hard is it , dont worry i wont be attending due to YOUR hostile reply |

In support of Rosie and Keith, they are a couple who recognised the need for a social venue in the midlands and have attempted to provide it.
I have seen several posts on here where groups have tried to find venues for socials while understanding the need to remain discrete in pubs and clubs. Here they can enjoy the social element and have naughty fun at the same time if they wish.
This is an ongoing project with future plans and Rosie and Keith have invested their own money and time into this venture, Hopefully locals will support this and help get it off the ground. Unfortunately, as with parties and meets, there have been the usual no shows which is a shame but predictable.
For those forumites who like to attend socials it might be worth spreading the word among the event organisers, the venue is clean, spacious, plenty of private discrete parking and the bar charges reasonable prices, not those I have been charged at other pub socials.

Apology accepted. I too apologise for my hasty reply to criticism it is something I will have to keep a leash on if I am managing a club....It is all new to me so mistakes are bound to be made. All we want is for folk to give the club a chance....If they visit and don't like it then that is fair enough.....It won't be to everyones taste, but hopefully some folk will like it and want to use it.

We went there on Saturday and while there weren't that many people there it was nice to see they had play rooms and showers there. The main thing it has going for it is that it's not expensive entry for single guys or couples. We've been to some clubs where the night had cost us 80 quid after the membership, entry and drinks, so this is a more reasonable option.
Naturally one can reel off a list of facilities at other clubs and say you get what you pay for, but that would be stating the obvious.
It's early days yet but time will tell and it will make an ideal venue for parties and group meets. |

I rang last week, spoke to Keith. Sounded cagey, didn't offer me many details. And was told outright no single males membership.
Oh well, i'll have to console myself in chams.
Hope the club really does well, but I'd like to point out, that hated as us singles guys are, I can guarantee we generate more income than couples and single girls, so single men should be in your business model if you are looking to reinvest and greater percentage of membership fees back into your club.
Sticking with couples and singles girls (with an invited guest) will mean income will be low, and reinvestment (and not operating at a loss) will be slow. |

Lol at the fact Keith sounded cagey.....I assure you he isn't, infact, as he was at the club improving things he was probably a bit on the busy side, plus people don't always come across well on phones.
We do not hate single guys, we are just trying to keep their numbers down so as not to be over run with them, which leads to couples and females being made to feel intimidated, and we want to prevent trains of single guys following females/couples around which you often see at other clubs. We do not intend to limit single guys forever, just for the time being until things improve. We are sorry if you feel this is the wrong decision to make but only time will tell.....Meanwhile, you have other clubs that accomodate single guy needs. Single guys can attend our bi nights so it is really only straight single guys that are currently restricted. We do realise they generate a lot of income but they also generate a lot of criticism and unwanted attention. |

Ok, and rather than turning this into a slanging match i'll accept Keith may have been busy.
Perhaps i'll get an invite from a friend. I'll make sure I introduce myself as passion fruit from fab, so you both can bop me one on the nose. Lol.

Thank you as we want to encourage folk rather than discourage them.....We are bound to have teething problems but all we ask is a little patience and to give us a try. You are welcome to arrange to take a look around even if we are not open.

All clubs start somewhere, and not everywhere can be busy at all times. Competition is good, as it potentially allows for different places to cater to different needs, different people etc.
The owners seem to be interested in what we want, and they're doing their best to improve things, which is great. I'll certainly be giving them a try, and they sound friendly and good hosts. |

Seems to me if you're hoping to provide a service them you should know how to handle adverse criticism and see it as a am opportunity to improve and not slag off those who give the criticism.
In service environments there are many methods of measuring your performance and you should be looking to change attitude to turn negative to positive...
You'll always get those who's minds you'll never change and those who'll always be for you come what may, but those in the middle that can be swayed either way are the ones you need to see positive words and reactions from you.
So be warned if you aim to have a full venue of very happy people take what's said and learn from it because they are your best adverts! |

Just got home from a pleasant evening in this bar / club with rosie and keith they are great people and are really trying ot make a go of it. The club has lots of potential play rooms and a large social area with licensed bar. We met another couple there too who were equally keen to see the place take off despite some teething problems it could and will be a great place to hold socials and events keep up the good work guys it is worth it you have worked very hard on it and we will be back |

Just a quick note to inform those interested that as of September 1st our venue Late-xs, Great Barr, Birmingham will become an exclusive swingers venue and will no longer be a shared complex. We will have a downstairs bar area complete with pool table,TV, Juke box and sit and chat areas, which will be used simply for chatting and getting to know others. Upstairs will be the play area. We also hope to have a cinema room and dark room completed in time for September.
We do not yet have lockers or a changing area but we are hoping to sort this as quickly as possible. We do have a shower facility but you will, for the time being, need to bring your own towels. We still have a lot to do but hope that folk can see the potential our venue has and hope that you will support us as we continue to improve things.
With regards to single males.....From September 7th you will be allowed to attend on a Friday night, but you will only be allowed to stay in the downstairs bar or cinema room unless you are invited upstairs to the play rooms by a couple or a single fem. This is to ensure that couples are not swamped by unwanted male attention. We will as we progress offer single males the opportunity to attend our venue at other times. Single males are welcome at our BI/TV/CD/Admirer events on Wednesday's.
We will be updating our website accordingly, but ask you to appreciate that things do take time to complete, but that we will get there in the end. |
