I've seen a few verifications where people said they met at a club but when I questioned them they said clubs are closed down and the verification was from "ages ago". I'll be very surprised if any clubs are open as sex is such an intimate thing that you can't do social distancing with.

It does answer your question, most clubs are social only so you talk to people and socialise. In fact, the majority of attendees are perfectly happy to just have social time. |

It does answer your question, most clubs are social only so you talk to people and socialise. In fact, the majority of attendees are perfectly happy to just have social time.
We must be going to very different clubs "
Clearly, I seem to be going to clubs that are following the guidelines and with people that aren't going to start risking other people's lives  |

This is probably what’s happening "
The clubs that are open are operating effectively as any licensed premises is - providing a social environment for people to have a drink & socialise.
Some have outdoor areas that members can use, some are opening the bar area only with all play areas closed. Some are still completely closed.

The clubs that are open are operating effectively as any licensed premises is - providing a social environment for people to have a drink & socialise.
Some have outdoor areas that members can use, some are opening the bar area only with all play areas closed. Some are still completely closed.

What about keeping apart? A club near me has pinch points and could probably support far fewer people if it's 2m apart (isn't that the case indoors?)

There are a few clubs that are located away from residential areas to ensure no offence to neighbours in normal times. Some of these are lucky to be able to open up theses areas, the V A has acres! And in order to stress the difference of club to social distanced socialising has launched Lux . Same post code but one is internal one external, the hours are different too to reflect the different nature of the place. Afternoon early evening rather than late night. These are clubs looking to stay in business as well as give their clientele the ability to meet and chat with like minded souls, ready for the return to playtimes. As with all of life’s activity you the customer decides, but the new facilities can only open subject to the laws and inspections.
It’s a great shame that a Mr Reid, fab owner, hasn’t decided to set up a social meeting places button etc to promote safe behaviour rather than threatening to delete accounts. Surely that is more responsible. |
