Has anybody noticed they have two websites.
The old one built in the 90s/2000s and a new more up to date one (with still no news on Covid)
I assume the owners are not active on social media, swinging forums, etc.
Otherwise we would have heard something from them by now.

I've stopped by for a look on several occasions. It is closed.
I'm beginning to think the rumors of it closing are true. Many places will not be opening is my prediction. Hard to keep a float when your forced to close and bills still pile. I don't think they ran at much of a profit anyway, they just believed in the idea. |

I imagine the only reason it's still there is because it's been there so long it's probably got fairly low overheads in terms of lease/rent. I would imagine that there is potentially a lot of money in redeveloping it for more conventional use ie shops and flats. Which would be a sad loss, I know the place isn't for everyone and has its issues but by the same token there is something quite good about being able to round off a night out with a soak in the jacuzzi and a steam in the sauna. I ocasionally flat sit for a friend who lives 10 minutes walk away and I found I quite liked having it there, but I'd probably have been disappointed if I'd had to travel far to get there.

I'm in two minds about any permanent closure of Rio's. True, I both experienced and observed some of the worst behaviour I've ever seen in spa type clubs there and have had no hesitation in mentioning it in reviews on here; however there were good times too and it was nice to use (admittedly mainly on couples nights).
Very little else in London. |

Agree. Best and worse. The best outweighs the worst though. And only 15 minutes walk for us. |

A few weeks ago before restrictions returned I have received an email from another spa place and had a sudden burst of hope that Rio's might be open but I did think it would be too good to be true. No answer after calling a few times proved that point.
How much I miss it, especially when it got cold again... I really wish it would somehow survive.
Despite the drawbacks I really like the possibility to go to a naturist spa which is affordable and which brings the local community there as well. The first time I went it was really nice and then few times after I had my enjoyment ruined but refused to be pushed out by threatening men, went to speak to the manager and found out that they will take care of the harrassers so that allowed me to attend again and again in confidence.
I think I spent what feels like half the winter at Rio's last year but it maybe just seems so this way. |

I’m not surprised, there was sometimes a couple guys that didn’t know how to respect people in there, but the good far out ways the bad, have had some of my best times there socialising and getting that great hear into my skin. I don’t know another place in London like it. Fingers crossed it survives |

I'm not saying I want it to close permanently, and we all have our own experiences, but it was way more than "a couple of guys". Sunday mornings just after couples night was usually horrendous in that regard and whenever I went with a woman on Saturday evening, I always encouraged leaving around midnight to avoid. Also witnessed a lot of poor and sometimes downright aggressive behaviour Friday nights by guys who seemed to think they owned the place and were entitled to sex on demand.
Don't get me wrong, I had some great times there too and I enjoyed the facilities, but the lion share of all bad behaviour I've witnessed across all clubs I've been to has been at Rio's.

I personally hope Rios does not close down.We don’t have many adult venues in London that cater for single straight guys that aren’t members only clubs so for a single straight guy the wrong side of 50 I feel if it were to close it would have a effect on me and plenty of others.For me who doesn’t want to travel more than a hour it’s perfect.For £25 - £30 I can go enjoy the facilities and if I meet a lady or a couple and we end up having some adult fun well it’s a bonus.Yes the place can do with been modernised but no doubt it would be reflected in the cost so that’s a decision for the owners to make.If every single guys attitude was no expectations no disappointment then I think more single ladies and couples would attend and would make it a better experience for everyone all round. |

I agree with all positive comments here. A house can be Home, when the inhabitants are nice towards each other.
similar way, Rios was the only Naturist Spa in London, which served multiple purpose i.e.
spa
sauna
steam room
play area
open garden
free nibbles
affordable cost
what did impact, was the type of people esp. pushy or rude people left some visitors scarred for life or to the least bad experience, hence....everytime I went there esp. on Saturday night with a female companion, i had great time.
I miss it only because, it was easily accessible, and we clicked with bar serving ladies there.
Once again, we all have good and bad experiences and some people witness the worst and some good.
I do miss Rios, Ladies and couples we met there.
Hope COVID-19 finishes soon and everyone remains healthy and prosperous.

Don't forget cheap accommodation on your list On the odd occasion I stayed well into the night, the number of people sleeping in the rooms was quite funny (and annoying for those wanting to use them!).
In all seriousness, you make good positive points and I definitely agree about couples nights. It was the only time I felt I could fully relax there. If only those who think the world revolves around their cock or their mouth would stay away, it would be a really great place.
Little bit variable re: those behind the bar (and I made the same friendly effort with all), but all in all I hope it doesn't close, just re-opens with further checks and balances in place and a slightly more thorough weekly cleaning rota. Although generally OK, there were definitely the odd parts here and there that were lucky to see a sponge in months. |

Hopefully not for long FFS! Get vaccined quickly and back to normal.
Otherwise I`ve been only twice there as a single man, and it was my worst swinger club experience ever, so never more. It`s a shame, as I live 10 minutes away...
Way too many single men and also not the ones who know how to behave in a swinger club. Like it or not, if you want a quality place, you need to raise the entry fee for single men. I`ve heard that beggars and half-homeless people (hostel on better days, bench in the park on worse) actually used it as a bathroom + accomodation for a bit of nap, with the added joy of being surrounded by naked women...
And the type of the crowd maybe has something to do with the constant smell of too... |

We spend roughly 6 months a year on the nude beaches in Fuerteventura and it is truly astonishing how many people still think nudity = easy sex and swinging. Most naturists are not swingers and many swingers will not use a naturist beach. We happen to be both, but are in very small minority. |

Be fair, I also heard good thinks about couple`s only Saturday, but never been. I think any "naturist spa" which offers playrooms is a swinger club. And pretty sure that over 80% of single men went there trying to have sex.
I`ve been there twice, years ago, only wrote my old experience, + what I`ve heard about this place since that.
But be fair, being in the middle of a busy area, and offering £25 enrty for unlimited, non-members single men to mingle with presumably sex-seeking naked women is a good way to accrete
an awkward crowd... |

Yes I see what`re you talking about, naturist beaches and swinger clubs are different things, sure. But an indoor spa in the middle of a megapolis, openly promoting available playrooms and couples only parties is not a naturist spa, but a swinger club with pool and hot tub. And there is nothing wrong with it.
I only feel sorry about the missed potentials what this place could offer, if it`d be run in a different way. I hope post covid it will happen! |

My own experiences are years old, but guys I know told me stories about this place since that. Funny thing is, they haven`t got a clue that I`m a swinger club regular. Some of these guys are decent people, but some of them sadly have some serious drug/gambling addictions, mostly working as deliveroo riders, and sleeping in hostels/parks.
They told me about their discovery, can I imagine, they found a place, where they can have a bath, watch naked women, and if lucky, have a quick shag... And all of this for only £25. I said wow, I can`t imagine any place like this exists... |

I think on Saturday evenings (couples only) they certainly let themselves be like a swingers club. They may not have advertised that, of course, but that's what it was. Sexual activity in the Jacuzzis, steam rooms, showers and possibly even saunas (although I never observed anything in the saunas) was allowed during that time. That was in addition to the usual 'rest' rooms at the back, and, before the fire in 2016, upstairs.
Any other time, it was supposed to be confined to the rooms. On the odd occasion I (reluctantly) stayed on a bit after couple's evening (midnight) and saw the staff ask people to stop sexual activity in various places whereas before midnight they had been allowed to carry on. Some couples, especially what I assumed were new there were very confused. |

That's the problem with presumptions - they tend to ignore actual reality. If it is not clearly identified as a swingers club then it is not one as far as I am concerned. People should just be happy that there are private rooms available and use them if they like and not go there expecting other visitors to provide them with entertainment and sexy times. There are plenty of local people for example, who attend to relax and see their friends and this is the idea - to be in a friendly but relaxing atmosphere.
The facilities could be more glamorous, that's for sure but they are better than what I expected from what I heard before visiting for the first time. My expectations were very low so I was pleasantly surprised. Also, perhaps it was a good time (Saturday afternoon hours before couples time), there were few people and it was a very relaxing visit. A good first impression somehow stayed in my mind despite subsequent unpleasantness. |

Not much swinging in my wideish experience of the place. Much more of a spa than a swinging location for most of the week, the vast majority of the ladies visiting alone seem to be there for the spa and ditto many of the couples. Lots of hopeful naked men, but again a good portion are very happy to have a nice day in a naked spa, with the odd glimpse of a naked beauty and a very long shot of anything more. I have always enjoyed my visits and when I’ve played it’s usually been with someone I have taken with me. Really hope it re opens |
