Don’t ask how I know - the male half here —but there will be an announcement soon that social distancing could end in November ( 1st November)

Because you just watched the Downing Street briefing.

What he actually said was if after some measures have been lifted for previous months. They will monitor the situation and see if it's possible to end social distancing in November.

Birkenhead/Liverpool

The announcement has already been made at 11am, so a bit late to the party there!!! hahaha

BoJo has said that at the plan is to lift social distancing at the earliest in November with a more realistic view to being before Christmas. This depends on there not being a second wave that spirals out of control.

I'm not understanding this... prior to him saying this about November he said that X amount of extra ventilators had been ordered ready for another spike in cases.

It doesn't make sense.

Oh definitely. Like he said, he's hoping the best, but preparing for the worst.

I have a feeling social distancing will come to an end before then.

I mean, November is fourteen weeks away.

My opinion, as per usual...!

It depends on how effective the face covering helps recover economy, if it doesn't get people out shopping then be sooner. I've always felt Sept to coincide with schools

They are all expecting a second wave later this year possibly through the winter which will be a bitch.

They just cant predict timing or severity,

Just incase it doesnt happen and we all behave ourselves between now and november they are giving us something to possibly look forward to with relaxing social distancing as long as a second wave has not started lol

I think the same - September seems likely to me, especially if the numbers keep dropping as they are.

But it’s all small steps in the right direction at the moment, so I’m staying hopeful!

What social distancing. I go to work and see no distancing. I pass pubs and no social distancing. We had a ride out on the bike today to Whitby, as its Friday we thought it would be quiet, guess what, busy as and you guessed it no social distancing what so ever. We had fish n chips away from everyone and got on the bike and rode home. So to sum it up, in our opinion, social distancing has already ended. Would end by saying stay safe everyone but think we are wasting our words

I think people are referring to the lawful social distancing. The one that will allow our clubs to reopen

I think they'll end it in the next few months for economic rather than scientific reasons. There certainly won't be another lockdown, theres no way they can afford it.

What they are doing is making local councils police there own areas so yes local down will be over but local councils will have to enforce there own lock downs this is the way the PM can wash his hands of the next wave by saying once R number its a point the local policy's will be put into place like local lock down like what happened in Melbourne

If they didn't order them and there was a second spike in cases everyone would go mad aski g why we didn't order them, can't win either way, a bit like all the nightingale hospitals build, they never really got used anywhere near as much as we all thought, but it was a good thing, and until we are sure it's gone, better to be prepared.

It’s not just about affording it. It’s the impact on everything else. Yes, lockdown has a positive impact on reducing C19; but it has a detrimental effect on other medical treatments, mental health, education, the economy, animal welfare ... it’s a balancing act

IMO lockdown should have been sooner & tighter. We’d be further down the road to recovery & have thousands less deaths to show for it.

But we are where we are & the only thing we can do is move forward as safely as possible

half way between venus & mars

Nortwhich Sauna is opening on 29th July.. only sauna and steam room staying closed.

Private rooms will apparently be open..

Ive asked if 'play' will be allowed...

I suspect it will be poss down to individuals when its in private rooms.

Waiting for an answer...

Also, sorry, but if we can all get on a plane for 2 to 3 hours shoulder to shoulder with a total stranger.

What we do on the ground is irrelevant.

So it has to be earlier other wise its a bit of a p take to be honest.

I have been wondering this regarding my local Mecca bingo. Since it's reopened its been packed out on a few occasions. That's another place that has recycled air running through the building.

Same on a bus, in a pub, in a restaurant etc ...

Social distancing is required regardless of where you go currently. Until social distancing is over, there will be certain activities that aren’t possible!

Yes but it is changed 20-30 times per hour and they use hepa filters which remove 99.7% of air particles. Not a perfect solution I know.

Not perfect, but probably healthier than the air in a train or coach!

Actually the plane thing has already been answered by a pilot on here before 50/50 recycled air and fresh and plane filters won't trap virus

As for social distancing on a plane there's no chance all seats are full people do have to wear masks though

Airports are not too bad at the moment but they are not open fully as many countries still not allowing flights into them not all air bridges are open but restrictions will go down the pan once they do as everyone will want their hols

Buses and trains are still Able to give some social distancing as there are still many people working from home or still on furlough that too will come to an end soon

Boris wants us all out at the shops at weekends but only wearing masks how many of us pull the mask up n down between shops then touch door handles or other items with a possible contaminated hand

While we are all out shopping we will probably want food where again we will remove the masks and eat then to top everything off we will prob end up finishing the night off in a pub

But on the bright side even with all this happening there have been little to zero deaths the last few days so there's light at the end of the tunnel

Instead of a second wave they are hoping for small clusters that can be managed locally. It’s all about hoping, planning and controlling at the moment though and will continue to be so until there is a workable vaccine.

I’m sorry but every airline is recycling their air by more than 50%. They did pre virus so I can’t see how it can be worse now! Hepa filters do catch particles smaller than Covid-19. The only reason there is no conclusive evidence is because it’s such a new virus. And as for all seats being full. That’s just not the case. If it was the case then no one else would be able to book a flight! Our flight in a couple of weeks is less than 30% full. Of course more seats may be booked but to say that all flights are full is incorrect
