What do people wear to this event? First time I’ve done any kind of swinging (Miss C). So need to know what kind of female outfits I’ll need. I understand it’ll be weather dependant if it’s outside but do people wear underwear or sexy club wear or clothes etc??

Depends where you book to stay, there’s plenty of places to stay in Hull, some good, some not so good.

Depend on whether you want the Ritz or your happy with a skanky room above a pub (yes we did book this, but didn’t stay, wasn’t what was advertised, lol)

We’ve got our tickets and hotel booked not too far from the venue. See you guys n gals there.

"What is Swingfest2020??"

From what I have read on the Forums it is an outdoor festival in an open sided marquee in the grounds of HU9 with tribute acts and a licensed bar then moving inside during the evening for use of the hot tubs and playrooms (dependent on Covid19 guidelines at the time)

Definitely interested but just curious in the current climate. Should you have to cancel due to a local outbreak etc - or the same in our own local areas - would any tickets we bought be valid for a future event rather than simply lost? X

Not going to stress about it or generate mass threads about whether it “should or should not” go ahead either..

What are people’s thoughts on after swing fest party.

Will the action be happening in the hotels or private rented flats. We can’t decide which to book!

We had perfect accommodation at the harbour but they have just informed us they have cancelled our booking as property no longer available for hire.

"Does nobody else think this is so going to get press coverage and shut down if social distancing is still in place?"

I very much doubt it would.

You may get some random that thinks they can sell the story to one of the daily chip wrappers in the hope that the event draws unwanted attention and gets cancelled. It's petty stuff clubs have to deal with even before the pandemic.

But like others have said the event is 7 weeks away and could be several changes in that time.

We can go to pubs now and the Chancellor has just announced plans to encourage people to dine out.

When the earliest start time guys ?

I’m thinking lockers etc ....

So the car park isn’t part of the venue ? I know it’s a minor question just trying to figure out logistics etc for leaving stuff in car vs locker

Just visiting Medway Kent

Be interested to see how this can legally go ahead as even with all the openings social distancing will still be in place .. that will have to be inforced and Marshalled. No close contact

. So it won't be a swing fest event just a fest ?? Lol

I hope the restrictions change before you open..but if nit. Im sure theres ways it can still go ahead

Not a dampener... just curious .

Good luck

Some of us enjoy the social side just as much, like me.

Being able to wear what I want without judgement is another perk, and no reason couples cannot play amongst themselfs.

"Does nobody else think this is so going to get press coverage and shut down if social distancing is still in place?its our 3rd year of doing it and weve never had it b4 and we wnt tolerate it. So no x x "

I think you missed the gist slightly...

How will the event work if social distancing and non contact are still in place as rules. For instance beauticians have been given the green light for later this month yet are not allowed to do any face treatments or makeup etc... it’s hard to see 4 weeks later that a swinging festival will meet criteria or will it become a purely social no play event?

As stated by the organisers the event will be cancelled and refunds given.

Even if the guidelines do not change, couples that are attending together can still play together in a private room.

I also think there are lots on here that are expecting it to be a giant fuck fest which unfortunately will not be the case.

Its a festival with live music. The guidlines allow for this.

The sex part is only an optional extra.

Not sure you’ve properly read the guidance... I fear the ‘outside performance’ is a whole heap more limiting than would be hoped for :/

They have already been granted council approval for the event.

A formal risk assessment by a council body would have carried out prior to granting permission.

They obviously comply with the the guidlines or a licence would not have been granted.

Have you tried to contact the club or the organisers directly to discuss your concerns?

It’s not a concern it’s a question regarding how it will/can work.

Not sure what the council license reference is too, it’s A question on national health policy and lockdown not a question of local licensing which is obviously zero issue from the fact the events been held before.

Direct from the Government website-

1. Gatherings, public spaces, and activities

1.1 What can I do that I couldn’t do before?

The UK Government is continuing to ease restrictions in a manner that is safe, cautious and consistent with our plan.

This means that from 11 July:

you can participate in team and other grassroots sports where the sports governing body has issued guidance on how to do so safely

outdoor swimming pools and outdoor water parks can open.

Outdoor performances in front of a live audience and indoor rehearsals can take place in COVID-19 secure venues. Indoor rehearsals and indoor performances for broadcast should only happen where no audience is present

smaller-scale indoor performances can be piloted in COVID-19 Secure venues once approved by the government.

The event is complying with the guidlines set by the goverment.

Unfortunatly we will not be going but only due to having alternative arrangements that weekend.

I am heavily involved in an industry that involves outdoor events and crowds. Things are changing on a daily bases with new guidelines coming in almost daily.

I know the organisers of this event and the club is not their only business. They have other businesses that involve public and gatherings and they have been sucessfuly running those events in accordance with Goverment guidelines without any problems at all.

If, and it is a BIG If the event does not go ahead then they have clearly stated that refunds will be issued.

All the negative speculation does no one any good. They know their business and have too much to loose by not doing it properly.

If you want to go then go... If you have any doubts then dont go! It really is that simple.

For those that have real concerns message the organisers on here or via the clubs website it really is that simple!

For those that are going we hope you have a great time

For people querying the legality of it.

1) its weeks away, not tommorow. A lot can change.

2) it's not an orgy. It's a festival for swingers, there doesnt have to be close contact.

3) If you're worried about catching covid from somone, don't go.

We're going and the only person I'm 100% having sex with is my wife! If the rules at the time allow more then that's great.
