So theres a club account here, a club we where considering visiting but the virus thing happened.

They are plugging a reopening party, directing people to a site to book tickets. Surely this is very dodgy, no idea when the club will reopen and a real risk it may never reopen.

Just don't book tickets until the future becomes clearer.

Maybe they're hoping that a few hundred quid from advance bookings will help tie them over for a bit?

North West

We didn't request a refund for the club night that was cancelled in March because we didn't want the club to be losing money. It may be a way of generating cash flow....

Just wrong, if they want to set up a crowd funder and be completely honest about why ands the risks involved thats fair enough but to sell tickets too an event? Dodgy

If someone is buying an event ticket not knowing when that event may be held then that's up to them.

Personally I wouldn't but each individual can make their own decisions.

Yes, if it's a venue you really care about, you'll pony up a few quid to help them hold it together.

I had an amazing time at Swingfields in 2016, despite the press intrusion that forced them to cancel the following year. I had no issues with letting them hold onto my money for 12 months if it helped them move forward and I've done the same after this year's cancellation. I hope many ticketholders have done the same and given them a pot to work with for 2021.

That would be us

We did it because a lot of our regulars and others asked for a party when we get to open again, because of the amount of people that was asking for it and we're not the biggest club we're having to do it over 3 nights although because of the numbers that might have to be spread between 5 now.

We will be reopening unless this carries on for a year or more then we would have to look at the bigger picture... but as all our regulars know, we're very honest and they would get refunded if the parties wasn't to happen.

It's not dodgy at all and no bad is intended x

Darlings I admire the positive plans for the future made by the Amigos Team it gives us motivation to stick to the guidelines we now live by at the moment.when all this Cov-19 destruction of life and wealth is over life will never be the same again for lots of people and fabulous friends.

One thing i can be sure of if god forbid the owners Tony and Shaz had to cancel these planned parties which I very much doubt.

Unless the Post COV world means the scene has to end !

Tony & Shaz and the whole Amigos team are all honorable people and they would do the right thing and refund.

In the meantime i would suggest those of us who are regulars to clubs keep in contact with the owners and team and support them

Even if its just a message of good will.

After all its not all about sex and shagging darlings its a massive social scene and at times like this we all need friends .

Everyone, if you must buy a ticket then use your credit card so you have a measure of protection. Clubs are not charities, they are businesses.
