Chat problem

The only people you can view are the ones with camera icons next to their names. If you can view one cam you can view them all. Do you open a pm box to chat to people or post in the main chat window? |

If your text is appearing on your screen. It's safe to assume others can see it, alas some may be in other conversations and not respond to you directly. Does your text appear on your screen ? |

Sometimes I cannot view up to half of the people who are camming.
I just get a grey screen saying "looking for cam" This is an intermittent problem and is really annoying as is usually the cams I really want to view.
I cam using Puffin browser on my phone and wonder if it is to do with this sometimes. |

The flash emulation is done by puffin at their end. So uses a lot more bandwidth than native flash. The payback is puffin uses less processing power. Could be your network speed is a bit slow or puffin servers could be having problems. |

I am only guessing i am afraid never had any problems with puffin. But it is emulation and free not a magic bullet.

Still can’t see some cams and messages not showing on chat... so frustrating especially after paying to be a site supporter and not being able to use the features!
The hardest thing is it’s so intermittent so I could come out the chat rooms go back in and all cams available but then more often than not I go in and a hand full of cam icons just go even tho they are definitely on cam!
Does that make any sense at all and more importantly any ideas what the problem is?!? |

no not always ive noticed a lot of cams can't be viewed maybe it's a software thing  |

Are you posts being seen been seen by some people or is nobody seeing your posts.
Anybody who has you on their block list will not see what you type in chat. You will also no see what they type in chat. |

A friend of mine had an issue that might be the same as this, he was typing in the room, he could see his messages in the room, but no one else could. He was using the mobile version of chat. He reloaded a couple of times then the room could see him. Might be a glitch in the mobile version of chat. |

I’ve noticed the same thing over the last couple of weeks, I’m getting messages stating “looking for camera” and blank grey screen or black screen, I’ve also posted messages to directing and Scotland chat rooms which don’t seem to be posted in the chat room.
What I’ve also noticed that the server is getting slower so I’m thinking that there is a bandwidth problem at the server side and as Fabswingers is getting lots quieter I’m thinking that the cash from users is reduced, therefore a reduction in service ????????
I’ve been on and off here for around six years and the last few months is the worst I’ve encountered and there are less members from what I can see!  |

I don't think that Flash is at fault in this case. If you don't enable Flash, you can still type in the room and have other people see your writings!

Also the viewing cam issue is worse too!"

It isn't handled well on mobile, i.e. it won't let you interact but it doesn't let you know (but it does enforce it)

Are you on mobile or tablet? You can't broadcast your cam with mobile or tablet. Well not natively anyway"
Puffin browser for android devices and Firefox for ios devices. Cams should work then. |

I actually didn’t renew my membership due to similar problems as OP, still can’t view cams sometimes, no text in chat rooms, tried using iPhone, Android and MS desktop, tried Chrome Puffin etc etc but just gave up the will and I know how frustrating it is!
I’ve just read a Covid-19 report on the effect It’s had on broadband most companies are experiencing a 60% increase in usage, but said their system were able to handle it, but users may experience outage, congestion at peak times and a decrease in bandwidth (speed) but the good news was that most streaming companies have reduced the quality of their films etc to make things quicker |
